Length of Year. The length of the school year for members of the bargaining unit shall not exceed 185 days. The days shall be used as follows: 180 days of instruction – at the elementary, middle and high school level, 2 full days (or the equivalent) of the 180 days shall be used for parent-teacher conferences. If conferences are held outside the normal school day, equivalent compensatory time shall be granted. The compensatory day(s) shall be mutually agreed to by the Association and the Superintendent. Length of Year. 0301 The contract year for teachers shall be one hundred eighty-five (185) regular workdays, three (3) of which shall be used for half in-service, half for grade records at the end of the first three report periods.

B. No Paraprofessional(s) will be expected to work on days other than those of the teacher work year.
C. Those Paraprofessional(s) who agree to work an extended work year will be paid at their regular rate of pay.
Length of Year. The work year for administrative positions existing as of the date of the execution of this Agreement shall be twelve (12) months with annual vacation of one month (23 work days) plus one school recess period. An administrator may accumulate up to 40 days of vacation time. No more than five (5) unused vacation days may be accumulated in a given year, unless it is with the prior approval of the Superintendent. During the student instructional year, the administrators shall be entitled to the same paid holidays as are granted to District teachers.
Length of Year. The school year shall be defined by the calendar adopted by the Board of Education. This calendar, inclusive of workshops and seminars, shall not exceed 200 days. Workshops and seminars will be developed jointly by the instructional staff and administration. Up to all but one unused emergency day shall be converted to vacation days and added to the school calendar by the Calendar Committee.
Length of Year. A calendar committee shall consist of twelve (12) people, six (6) appointed by JCEA and six (6) appointed by the superintendent or designee. It is recommended that all school building levels (EC, Elem., MS, and HS) be represented on the committee.

Length of Year. Full-time teachers shall have 181 duty days per school year. A minimum of five (5) duty days shall be non-instructional days devoted to parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and other non-student contact activities. Teachers will be compensated for assignments in excess of the regular school calendar (extended contract) and the normal teaching load. When such work is included in the teacher’s individual employment agreement, the teacher shall be compensated at his/her pro-rated annual salary rate. All extended contracts will require School Board approval. Nothing in this article shall prevent the District from canceling school in cases of inclement weather, absenteeism, or other acts of God that prevent the safe operation of the schools. When school is dismissed or canceled for such reasons, teachers shall be expected to remain on duty until the Superintendent or his/her designee dismisses them. If a teacher chooses to leave, he/she will have time deducted from sick leave for the amount of time the remaining teachers are expected to remain in the buildings. Opportunity may be afforded to the Association to meet and confer prior to April 1 of each year on the matter of the school calendar.
