Part-time Dispatchers. The City may only utilize part-time dispatchers who are properly trained and qualified pursuant to the standards existing in the Gahanna Police Department. Part time Dispatchers are not members of the union.

Part-time Dispatchers. The Police Department Administration makes a statement that during each contract year it will endeavor to allocate a reasonable amount of funds consistent with the availability thereof from City Council, so as to give Dispatchers a commensurate opportunity to attend classes, seminars and training sessions. State mandated requirements for all department personnel will have highest priority.
Part-time Dispatchers. The following shall apply to Part-Time Dispatchers: A. The Department shall maintain a minimum staff of eight (8) full-time Dispatchers at all times. B. The Department is permitted to hire and employ no more than two (2) part-time Dispatchers. C. Part-time Dispatcher hours will be limited to those allowable under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). D. Part-time Dispatcher pay rate shall be the starting full-time Dispatcher rate. Part-time Dispatchers shall receive step raises based on two thousand and eighty (2080) hours worked. E. Full-time Dispatchers shall be offered all open shifts before part-time Dispatchers. If a shift cannot be filled voluntarily by a full-time Dispatcher it will then be offered to a part-time Dispatcher. An open shift is defined as one that does not have two (2) Dispatchers scheduled to work. F. Part-time Dispatchers shall not receive any fringe benefits (health care, pension benefits, etc.). G. Part-time Dispatchers shall not be entitled to paid sick time or vacation time. H. In the event there is a reduction in the Dispatch workforce, part-time Dispatchers shall be laid off before full-time Dispatchers. I. In the event a full-time dispatch position temporarily opens due to an illness, injury or leave of absence the parties will meet and negotiate the use of part-time Dispatchers to temporarily fill the open full-time Dispatcher position. J. Any hours worked consecutively over twelve (12) hours shall be paid at time and one half (1 ½).

For the purposes of this this section, “part- time” shall mean fewer than thirty (30) hours of work in any seven (7) day workweek. The City may regularly schedule part-time Dispatchers. To facilitate this, the OPBA and the City agree that, absent unusual circumstances, scheduling will be created as follows: a. Full-time Dispatcher regular schedules will be determined in accordance with established seniority practices. b. Remaining openings in the schedule will be filled by part-time Dispatchers to extent possible. a. c. Remaining openings in the schedule will be filled in accordance with the provisions of Section 24.10 of this Agreement. In the event of a layoff, no full-time Dispatchers will be laid off until all part-time Dispatchers are laid off.
Part-time Dispatchers. The Township reserves the right to employ one (1) Dispatcher on a part-time basis to be scheduled to work when vacancies are created which are in excess of five (5) consecutive days.
Part-time Dispatchers. In order for part-time dispatchers to be eligible to receive premium pay for working on a holiday, the part-time dispatchers, if applicable, must work their scheduled shift(s) within the two (2) calendar days before the recognized holiday and scheduled shift(s) within the two (2) calendar days after the recognized holiday.

Part-time Dispatchers. 32.01 Part-time dispatchers may be hired for the purposes of training for upcoming full-time positions, support for full-time dispatchers, and to provide dispatch relief for meal breaks and for absences due to illness, training, or other authorized leave. Part-time dispatchers will not work without another experienced dispatcher until they have successfully completed the Basic CPIC Operator course at the Ontario Police College, and are trained and capable to perform all the required duties of a dispatcher with the Pembroke Police Service. 32.02 Part-time dispatchers will work no more than 32 hours per week, except as may be occasionally necessary to complete their training at Ontario Police College, or to cover absences (in the Communications sector only) caused by illness, training, or other leave, as per Article 32.01. They shall be offered a minimum of thirty-two (32) hours of work per month to stay current. 32.03 Part-time dispatchers shall be members of the Association and Police Association dues shall be collected as per Article 16 of this Agreement. 32.04 Part-time dispatchers shall be hired at the entry level of the pay scale for full-time dispatchers, and shall progress through the salary grid based on full-time hours equivalency. Wages shall be paid to the member bi- weekly according to Article 21 of this agreement. Seniority shall be accumulated from the date of hire based on hours worked, and shall have effect only in regards to layoffs. Seniority shall not apply when in conflict with the seniority rights of full-time members. 32.05 Part-time dispatchers shall be entitled to statutory holidays, vacation pay, overtime, pregnancy and parental leave, in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act. They shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) times the member's rate of pay for all hours worked on any statutory holiday as listed in Article 9 of the Civilian Collective Agreement. In addition, the member shall receive one (1) hour straight time for each hour worked in lieu of any statutory holiday on which he/she is on duty. 32.06 Part-time dispatchers scheduled to work alone for eight (8) hours or more in a shift, shall be entitled to a paid one (1) hour lunch. When working in support of another dispatcher, meal breaks will be provided but not paid. 32.07 Part-time dispatchers shall be entitled to participate in the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System Pension Plan in accordance with the provisions of the Pen...
