Promotional Requirements. Education leave, with pay, will be granted in order for an Employee to attain requirements for promotion if the Employee will become eligible to take the next promotional test. The leave will be granted far enough in advance to allow the Employee to complete the requirements prior to the promotional test. Education leave for promotional requirements does not have to be approved if the leave causes overtime. In the event previously approved leave causes overtime, the Employee may trade shifts with another Employee without regard to the timelines for shift trades found elsewhere in this Agreement. In the event an Employee is not able to trade shifts, and the Educational Leave must be cancelled, the Employee must work the assigned shift. Approval of the shift trade will be in accordance with Article 29: Trading Duty Time. Ordinarily, Employees will not be eligible to take such leave for a course described in this Section if the course is offered outside of the Employee’s normal work scheduled. In such situations, Employees will still be eligible for leave during an Employee’s shifts if they are unable to take the course outside of their shift despite their best effort to do so. In the event multiple Employees submit for leave with limited availability, the Employee with the highest seniority will be awarded the leave.

Once the employee has demonstrated they are proficient then they will be deemed qualified and promoted accordingly both in job qualification and pay increased, if applicable.

When promoting DockDogs as a feature or attraction, Venue/Host agrees that the inclusion of DockDogs® logo, along with major DockDogs® sponsor logos and taglines, in newspaper, radio, television, web and other applicable media promotions for the DockDogs® competition promotions will be pre approved by DockDogs. For maximum impact DockDogs® has found that these should run at least one to two weeks prior to the event to achieve a minimum of 1,750,000 impressions. Major sponsors for DockDogs® are defined as their Title, Presenting, and or 3 Premium Sponsors. DockDogs® will supply the Host with necessary art work and photos for promotions run by the Host. All use of DockDogs® name(s), logos, or other devices related to the organization or events that are not supplied directly from DockDogs® must be approved by DockDogs® in advance of publication. Host will prominently promote their DockDogs® competitions on their website.

Driver/Engineer The education and service requirements for promotion to Driver/Engineer are include but are not limited to: High School diploma or equivalent Requirements in the approved job description for the position Two (2) continuous years of service with Tarpon Sprins Fire Rescue Completion of an Apparatus Operations Course (Course #1302) or equivalent by an approved Florida State Fire College training provider Completion of an Aerial Operations Course (Course #703) or equivalent by an approved Flroida State Fire College training provider Note: Approved courses will have the prefix FFP, FSFC or ATPC along with the course number, depending on the provider. All classes must be approved by the Florida State Fire College Satisfy all prerequisite requirements and successfully complete the TSFR Acting Driver/Engineer Training Program Six (6) months experience as an acting Driver/Engineer No active Level IIII or higher disciplinary action within the privous two (2) years Firefighter/EMT’s and Firefighter/Paramedics who meet the above qualificaitons shall be permiteed to test for the promotional process.

Promotional Requirements. Appendix 1 describes the pre-requisites for promotion to the relevant level on the basis of acquisition of a set of skills as shown. To enable an employee to be promoted and be paid at the next level, they are to be trained and have sufficient work experience at the higher level to the extent that they can demonstrate competency at the higher level in all the defined skills. Therefore, the skills defined at each level are to be regarded as pre-requisites for promotion rather than job descriptions.
