Vacation – Part Time. (a) Part-time nurses will be entitled to leave without pay for vacation on the same entitlement basis as full-time nurses. (b) Part-time nurses shall receive vacation pay in accordance with Article 16.01 on each bi-weekly pay cheque except as provided below. (c) A part-time employee has the option of banking her vacation pay. This banked amount will be paid out semi-annually, as a special payment separate from her regular pay, on the first pay of June and the first pay of December. (d) Twice a year the part-time employee has the option of changing from having her vacation pay banked and paid semi-annually back to having it paid out on each pay, and vice versa. The part-time employee must give payroll thirty (30) days written notice prior to the first pay of June or the first pay of December in order to change the method of vacation payout.

Vacation – Part Time. (a) It is understood and agreed that the Hospital will grant to regular part-time nurses, in accordance with their seniority, preference in selecting a personal annual leave of absence without pay in lieu of a vacation period. (b) Vacation pay, if any, flowing from Article 16.06 of the Central Agreement will be paid the first pay in December according to current practice (Apr – Dec) and thereafter every pay period for the remainder of the fiscal year. (c) Vacation will be scheduled so that four (4) part-time nurses will be off at any one time from any nursing area in the Adult In-Patient Unit. (d) The first three (3) weeks of annual leave entitlement may be allocated to a nurse on a consecutive basis and the fourth (4th) and succeeding weeks of annual leave entitlement, if any, at a time acceptable to both the nurse and the Hospital. (e) Time off work under this section shall be equated to the vacation period allotted to full-time nurses.
Vacation – Part Time. All regular part-time shall be entitled to vacation pay based on the applicable percentage provided accordance with the vacation entitlement of full-time nurses, of their gross earnings in the preceding year. The Hospital must reserve the final decision as to the scheduling of time off work. Time off work under this section shall be equated to the vacation period allotted to full-time nurses. Where no request for annual leave is received by March annual leave shall be scheduled at a time acceptable to both the nurse and the Hospital. Annual leave entitlement schedules will be posted by April 30th. Vacation will be scheduled so that four (4) part-time nurses will be off at any one time from any nursing area in the Adult In-Patient Unit. All other work areas will continue their present practice of scheduling vacation. Vacation pay, if any, flowing from Article of the Central Agreement will be paid the first pay in December. A nurse shall give at least one month’s written notice of intention to resign.
Vacation – Part Time. Part-time employees shall receive for vacation pay the applicable percentage of the previous year's earnings as set below. Employees with less than one (1) year of service shall be entitled to vacation pay in accordance with the Labour Code. Employees who have completed one (1 ) or more years of service with the Company shall be entitled to four (4) per cent of their gross earnings. Employees who have completed five (5) or more years of service with the Company shall be entitled to six (6) per cent of their gross earnings. An employee who qualifies in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Canada Labour Code shall be granted a holiday for each holiday established under the Canada Labour Code. The parties agrees to recognize Easter Monday as a statutory holiday in lieu of the Remembrance Day statutory holiday. The Company also agrees to recognize the Civic Holiday occurring in the month of August. If any of the Company-recognized holidays not designated under the Canada Labour Code cease to be recognized by a customer and services are required on that day, the parties agree to meet and discuss methods to address this issue. An employee must be available for duty on such holiday if it occurs on one of their workdays, excluding vacation days. Drivers working fifteen (15) or more days in the previous thirty (30) immediately proceeding the holiday, they will receive holiday pay for all work regularly scheduled for that holiday (i.e. a.m., kindergarten, shuttle and late run). Drivers working fewer than fifteen (15) days in the previous thirty (30) immediately proceeding the holiday, they will receive holiday pay equal to one twentieth of their earnings during the thirty (30) days immediately preceding the holiday. Perfect attendance last two (2) weeks of school in June, first two (2) weeks of school in September. Must complete dry run and interview prior to first day of school. A part-time employee under this Agreement will be defined as any employee who normally works less than twenty-eight (28) hours per week. Therefore, any employee who normally works more than eight (28) hours per week shall be classified as a full-time employee. Part-time employees under this Agreement do not participate in any of the benefit packages included in this Agreement. Charter hours are not to be included in this calculation. The sole exception is if an employee who is taking his first week of vacation entitlement for the year has vacation pay in excess of a normal week's wages, he will be entitled to request that all outstanding vacation pay be paid out. An employee shall receive his vacation pay prior to his departure on vacation. Vacation employee should not be paid unless employee is taking a vacation.
