Voluntary Unpaid Leave. A voluntary unpaid leave program will be offered to eligible employees, as follows:
(a) Deduction of 1.9231% of regular salary and scheduling off up to a maximum of five days’ leave at a future time within the fiscal year. Granting of leave will be subject to operational requirements being met to the satisfaction of the Deputy Head or his/her designate.
(b) New employees on initial hire are provided the opportunity to participate in the voluntary 1.9231% deduction and leave program.
(c) Employees do not have the opportunity to change their option until the next fiscal year. In situations where employees would like to change their option, they must advise in writing of the change to their respective pay and benefits administration office at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of government fiscal year beginning April 1.

Voluntary Unpaid Leave. 6.2.15.1 Any unit member who has rendered at least seven (7) consecutive years of service to the District shall be eligible for one (1) voluntary unpaid leave for a period of one (1) semester or a maximum of one (1) year at the unit member’s option.
6.2.15.2 Applicants for voluntary unpaid leave shall file a request with the District not later than June 30 for the first semester of the following school year, and not later than November 15 for the second semester of the following school year.
6.2.15.3 The number of teachers on voluntary leave during any one semester shall not exceed two percent (2%) of the total teaching staff. Should more than this number apply for the same semester, the selection shall be made by the Board and the selection criteria for the granting of such leave shall include:

Voluntary Unpaid Leave. Any full-time unit member who has served at least ten (10) consecutive years of full-time service for the Xxxxxx County Office of Education shall be granted, upon request, a one-semester or one-year unpaid leave of absence providing the below conditions occur.
a. This leave shall not be used if during the previous ten (10) year period any other leave has been granted with the duration of greater than one semester.
b. Unit members shall not use this leave to teach in a similar position from which the leave was granted.
c. The leave shall be granted under the following circumstances:
1) Unit member must notify the County Office prior to March 1 of the year preceding the requested leave of intent for an unpaid leave.
2) If the employer determines that the unit member’s position is to be filled, it must be filled by the first Thursday in June prior to the leave being finalized. If this occurs, the unit member will be notified by the first Thursday in June of the acceptance of leave.
3) In the event an applicant for a vacancy is found after the first Thursday in June, the unit member will have the opportunity to accept or reject the leave.
4) If no applicant is found, the unit member will be required to work.
5) Unit member shall notify the employer no less than sixty (60) calendar days prior to the expiration of his/her leave of his/her intent to return. Unit members who return from this leave shall be granted a position within their credentialed assignment, although it may not be the same assignment held prior to leave. The granting of applications that are submitted after March 1 will be at the discretion of the Superintendent.
Voluntary Unpaid Leave. With advance department head approval, an employee, other than a Police Services Technician, may take up to 40 hours of voluntary unpaid leave annually in one (1) hour minimum increments subject to the following findings by the department head:
A. It will create no overtime due to the absence of the employee, and
B. It will create no adverse operational impact on the department or division. Employees exceeding this amount of unpaid leave may be disciplined for excessive leave of absence. Excluded from discipline are absences certified as protected leave of absence under state or federal law or leave approved as a reasonable accommodation for a disability under state or federal law.
Voluntary Unpaid Leave. A voluntary leave program will be offered as follows:
(a) Existing employees have the option to continue with the 1.92% deduction effective April 1, 2001 and taking off five days leave at a future time within the fiscal year, subject to operations being covered to the satisfaction of the Department Head or his/her designate;
(b) New employees on initial hire be provided with the opportunity to participate in the voluntary 1.92% deduction and five day leave program.
(c) Employees do not have the opportunity to change their option until the next fiscal year. In situations where employees would like to change their option, they must advise in writing to their Division Director at least four (4) weeks prior to the commencement of government fiscal year beginning April 1.
(d) Employees who are hired after April 1 of a fiscal year and who elect to participate in the voluntary 1.92% deduction and leave program will be provided with leave equal to the amount of the deductions taken from the employee.
(e) Employees who terminate prior to taking the approved leave will be reimbursed the full amount deducted from regular payroll.
(f) Preference will be given to employees to take earned annual leave before any voluntary leave deducted at 1.92% of regular payroll is approved.
Voluntary Unpaid Leave. 22.1. With advance Department Head approval, an employee may take up to forty (40) hours of management unpaid leave per calendar year. Such leave may be taken in fifteen (15) minute minimum increments. Further, so long as the employee is in a paid status at least half of the month, such unpaid leave shall not result in a loss of benefits or leave accruals.
22.2. Employees exceeding this amount of unpaid leave may be disciplined for excessive leave of absence. Excluded from discipline are absences certified as protected leave of absence under state or federal law or leave approved as a reasonable accommodation for a disability under state or federal law.

Voluntary Unpaid Leave. 4.1 Employees may participate in a voluntary leave without pay program whereby full- time employees may take 4 to 80 hours per year time-off-without-pay and such time off shall be referred to as Unpaid Leave (UL). Using UL shall not impact leave accruals or benefit status as long as it is accurately reported on the timecard as UL.
4.1.1 Part-time employees may take a prorated amount based on their budgeted FTE.
4.1.2 The minimum amount of UL to be taken on a single day shall be four (4) hours.
4.2 Employees shall request UL in the same manner as they request PTO, and must receive approval from their supervisors before using the time.
4.3 UL shall not be granted if granting it would: create significant reductions in the public receiving the services they need; reduce or eliminate revenue; or require the payment of overtime to another employee.
4.4 For exempt employees during a week in which UL is taken, the employee shall be treated as a non-exempt employee, meaning they need to maintain complete and accurate records of their time during the week(s), and be paid for all hours worked. For this reason, an exempt employee may not work over thirty-six (36) hours in a week when they take UL.
