Work Year and Workday. The work year for nurses shall be consistent with the days teachers work with and without students. The workday for nurses shall be consistent with the workday of the teachers within the building to which a nurse is assigned. Any days worked beyond the year’s total shall be compensated at the appropriate per diem of the nurse.

Work Year and Workday. A. The work year of employees covered by this Agreement shall commence on July 1st and end on June 30th. Employees who work 180 or fewer days per year shall not normally be expected to work when students are not in school. Employees who work more than 180 days per year shall have any days beyond 180 scheduled by their immediate supervisors. It is understood and agreed that the Committee may require all paraeducators to either work one additional full day or attend an additional six (6) hours of professional development per year by paying the paraeducators at their hourly rate of pay. Beginning with the 2016-17 school year, the number of days for all full time employees shall be 182, with the first day before the opening of school counted as one of these days. Full time employees shall also attend one (1) professional development day per year, in conjunction with the teachers. This professional development day shall not be scheduled as the first day of the work year or the last day of the work year. B. The full-time paraeducator workday is 7.25 hours which consists of 6.75 paid hours and a 30-minute unpaid meal break. The workday includes the hours when school is in session. If it becomes necessary, employees may be required to work a reasonable period of time beyond the normal workday at the direction of their building principal or director. Employees will be paid for all hours worked. 1. Employees who work six (6) or more hours per day shall have a minimum of a thirty (30) minute unpaid duty-free meal break. The specific time is to be determined by the principal or immediate supervisor. If requested to do so by the employer, an employee may choose to voluntarily give up the thirty (30) minute meal break, and will be paid at their current hourly rate of pay for doing so. 2. All employees shall have a fifteen (15) minute break during the workday. The specific time is to be determined by the Principal or immediate Supervisor. 3. The workday will consist of 1 to 6.5 hours, the classroom library aide works 7.0 hours, not including the 30 minute duty free, unpaid lunch period in Article 22 A.

The regular work year for all District Supervisors of Curriculum and Instruction shall be 185 days plus ten (10) additional days which shall be worked during July, August, and/or June after the conclusion of the regular work year. Said additional days shall be scheduled, upon approval of the District Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction's immediate supervisor. B. Except for "Summer Curriculum Work" which shall be paid at the district's prevailing rate, additional time required beyond the above described work year(s) will be paid on a per diem basis at the rate of 1/200 X the District Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction's current salary. C. The workday for District Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction shall be eight (8) hours, inclusive of a lunch break. When the responsibilities of the position require attendance at evening meetings or weekend conferences, each District Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction may adjust his/her workday, upon approval of his/her immediate supervisor, for the day(s) in question. D. District Supervisors of Curriculum and Instruction shall have the responsibility for the vertical articulation and coordination of the K-12 curriculum. District Supervisors of Curriculum and Instruction shall also assist in the supervision, including the preparation of observations and summary evaluations, of their assigned department(s).

The workday for Subject Area Supervisor shall be eight (8) hours, inclusive of a lunch break. When the responsibilities of the position require attendance at evening meetings or weekend conferences, each Subject Area Supervisor may adjust his/her workday, upon approval of his/her immediate supervisor, for the day(s) in question. 4. Subject Area Supervisors shall teach a maximum of one (1) class every other year commencing with the 2003-2004 school year as determined by student enrollment. However a Subject Area Supervisor may teach additional classes, at no additional compensation, if mutually agreed upon by the parties. 5. Subject Area Supervisors shall have the responsibility for the vertical articulation and coordination of the K-12 curriculum. Subject Area Supervisors shall also assist in the supervision, including the preparation of observations and summary evaluations, of their assigned department(s).
Work Year and Workday. 7.1 The work year of the employees covered by this Agreement (except for Title I tutors) shall be defined to be the period beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30. District tutors will normally work on the day before the opening of school for students and on the days of the school year that school is in session. In the event the Committee determines it is necessary to extend the normal work year of employees hereunder, such employees shall be compensated therefore at their regular rates of pay for all additional hours worked. Title I tutors’ work year shall be what the grant allows for. 7.2 Daily work schedules for each employee will be established by the appropriate principal/supervisor. In order to adjust for school schedules and changes in operating conditions, the starting and ending times of daily work schedules may be adjusted from time to time by the administration, provided that reasonable notice of such change is provided. The regular workweek and day described in this Article shall not be deemed a guarantee that any particular number of hours of work will be available, nor in any way limit or restrict the right of the Committee to schedule overtime work. 7.3 The normal workday shall not exceed seven (7) hours, excluding lunch. If it becomes necessary, employees may be required to work a reasonable period of time beyond the normal workday. The Committee agrees to make reasonable efforts to schedule CORE meetings involving staff covered by this Agreement during the normal work day of such staff. Employees who attend such meetings beyond their normal work day shall be compensated at their normal hourly rate.
