WORK YEAR, DAYS, AND HOURS. A. WORK YEAR - On or before June 30 of each year, except in emergencies, the Superintendent or designee will provide each secretary a copy of a chart indicating the length of his/her regular work year and the starting and ending date for the upcoming work year. A copy of the chart will also be provided to the Association President. After the June 30 deadline, a secretary’s work year may be changed by mutual agreement, with the further understanding that the work year of all unit employees may be subject to adjustment due to the make-up of canceled student instruction days. In the absence of a calendar for the upcoming school year, a start date will be provided to the secretary prior to August 1.

WORK YEAR, DAYS, AND HOURS. A. The regular work year for various classifications in the bargaining unit shall be as follows. 1. A twelve month work year will be in effect for technicians, beginning September 1 each year and ending August 31 the following year. 2. The normal work year for special education bus monitors and for special education bus drivers who transport students to extended year programs is based upon the number of days of student instruction prescribed for those students, typically 230 days, occurring both during and between regular school years. The year for such drivers also includes a bid day preceding the start of the regular school year. 3. The normal work year for all other bus drivers is based upon the number of days of student instruction occurring during the regular school year when school is in session, plus the preceding bid day. 4. The normal work year for cafeteria employees is based upon the number of days of student instruction occurring during the regular school year when school is in session and student food service is provided, plus a preparation day preceding the school year and a kitchen closing day following it. The van driver may also be assigned responsibility for distribution of food and/or mail on days when food service is not provided, and between regular school years on a modified schedule. 5. The normal work year for regular bus monitors is based upon the number of days of student instruction occurring during the regular school year when school is in session, plus the preceding bid day. B. When schools are closed because of inclement weather or other emergency causes, employees in all classifications are expected to report for work. 1. If an employee cannot report for work because of the weather or other emergency causes, the employee will notify his/her Supervisor by telephone as soon as possible. Employees providing such notification will receive their regular pay, but shall have one (1) sick day deducted from their sick bank for each day they do not report for work or vacation time may be used. If an employee is authorized by his/her Supervisor not to report for work or to leave work early due to inclement weather or other emergency causes, pay will be handled in the following manner: Food Service and Transportation employees shall be paid for the first three Act of God day during the school year.   • DAYS AND HOURS OF WORK The standard workweek for workers occupying full-time positions consists of 40 hours unless otherwise specified by the Board of Supervisors. The appointing authority shall fix the hours of work with due regard for the convenience of the public and the laws of the State and the County. Workers occupying part-time positions shall work such hours and schedules as the Board and the appointing authority shall prescribe.

  • Working Days Without prejudice to clause 9.1, where the Authority funds the delivery of this Contract using European Social Fund (ESF) funds or in its role as a Co-financing Organisation uses this contract as a match for ESF provision, either at the outset of the contract or at any point during the life of the contract, the Contractor and any Sub-contractors appointed by it shall be bound by the corresponding additional requirements detailed within relevant Contractor Guidance, including the maintaining of records until at least 31 December 2023.

  • Work Days The work day shall consist of an assigned shift within twenty-four (24) consecutive hours commencing at 12:01 a.m.

  • Calendar Days Any reference to the word “day” or “days” herein shall mean calendar day or calendar days, respectively, unless otherwise expressly provided.

  • Shift Hours All shifts assigned by the Employer must conform with the following guidelines: (a) Four (4) hour shifts will be the minimum shift permitted in any one (1) day. (b) Shifts of 5, 6, 7 or 8 hours may be assigned, subject to the provisions of 10.05. (c) All hours worked up to and including eight (8) hours in any one (1) day will be paid at the straight time rate.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Hours For the purposes of an unpaid 7.5-hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 9.375 hours. (f) Tour Exchange

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Extra Hours For the purpose of Clause 20.13, extra hours means any hours available to be worked in excess of an employee’s regular schedule. The Corporation shall determine the extra hours it requires in each circumstance, and offer such hours to employees working in that Post Office in accordance with the provisions of this Clause. (a) On each occasion that extra hours are to be worked, opportunities to work the extra hours are to be offered to employees who notify the Postmaster beforehand of their availability, on the basis of the first opportunity to the employee who works the greatest number of regularly scheduled hours per week, last opportunity to the employee who works the least number of regularly scheduled hours per week. (b) Where two (2) or more employees are working the same number of hours per week, the opportunity shall be first offered to the employee with the longest continuous employment in that Post Office save that an employee who was formerly full-time and whose hours were reduced in accordance with Clause 12.05(a)(i) shall have priority. (i) In the application of this Clause, it is understood that a Part-Time Assistant shall be granted an opportunity to work extra hours provided that the extra hours do not conflict with her regular schedule, and provided she does not work more than eight (8) hours per day, or forty (40) hours per week. (ii) Subject to Clause 20.13(c)(i) the Part-Time Assistant who is granted the first opportunity to work extra hours should, while the opportunity lasts, end up working a total number of hours that is not less than the total number of hours worked by the Part-Time Assistant who accepts the second opportunity, and so on for each subsequent opportunity granted. (d) Where all the extra hours to be worked cannot be covered by application of the principle expressed in (a), employees may be assigned to work the extra hours that cannot be covered, and/or those hours may be covered by other means. (e) Application of this Clause entails no obligation on the part of the Corporation for equal distribution of extra hours.

  • Minimum Hours All employees shall be paid their regular hourly rate for each hour worked except where employed for less than four (4) consecutive hours per day, in which event they shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay. An employee who is called for work and upon reporting finds that his or her services are not required shall receive two (2) hours pay.
