Casual Staff. Deductions and benefits are those required by the Employment Standards Act (Ontario), The Income Tax Act (Canada) and other applicable Federal and Provincial Statutes.
Casual StaffCasual staff member" shall mean a staff member:- (a) Who is engaged on a casual basis and paid as such. (b) Whose spread of ordinary hours is in accordance with the provision of Clause 12.3 of this Agreement. Notwithstanding anything else contained in this Agreement, the following provision of this Agreement shall not apply to a casual staff member:- Sick Leave Bereavement Leave Long Service Leave, except as provide for under the Long Service Leave Act 1955, as amended Parental Leave Jury Service Leave Staff Travel Privileges (applicable after qualification period) Public Holidays, except for work undertaken on a Public Holiday Redundancy
Casual Staff. ‌ (a) Casual staff are those employees who are hired to work in the centre as casual. (b) Casual employees shall receive four percent (4%) of gross wages on each paycheque in lieu of scheduled vacation. (c) When a casual employee is hired into a regular position, the date of hire shall be the date upon which they commence the regular position. (d) Casual employees are not covered by Articles 12 Hiring, 11 Probations, 13 Layoff and Recall, 16 Annual Vacations, 17 Designated Holidays, 19.3 Leave of Absence, 20.5 Paid Sick Leave Entitlement, 20.7 Extended Sick Leave, 20.8 Sick Leave for Illness of a Child, 23 Seniority, and 26 Health and Welfare. (e) Leave granted under Article 19 Maternity and Paternity Leave and Article 15 Leave of Absence, shall be without pay and without EI top-up.
Casual Staff. 12.2.1 An employee engaged for a period of 1200 hours or less in any year (measured from the anniversary date of the employee’s commencement of employment) may be engaged as a casual employee on an hourly contract of employment and such employee shall be entitled to be paid a loading of 20%, in addition to the ordinary time hourly rate calculated from the salaries prescribed in Appendix 4 of this Agreement. 12.2.2 The 20% loading compensates the casual employee for the non‐ applicability of leave entitlements (other than Long Service Leave where applicable) and payment for public holidays not worked. 12.2.3 A casual employee shall be entitled to overtime or penalty payments 1. Overtime and penalty rates for casual employees shall be applied to the hourly rate which includes the 20% loading. Date finalised: Administration Enterprise Agreement No 6 (2011) 19 12.2.4 A casual employee shall progress through each increment of their classification level of the relevant Award after they have worked a total of 1200 hours since commencing employment (or since the receipt of their last increment), provided that a minimum of 12 months continuous service occurs between each increment. For existing employees, the accrual of the 1200 hours for the purposes of incremental progression described above will commence retrospectively from the date of commencement of the employee concerned. 12.2.5 A casual employee’s rights for non‐attendance at work for the purposes of caring responsibilities shall be in accordance with Clause 3.1.2.5 of the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award.

Casual Staff. 46.8.1 A casual staff member will be paid an hourly rate calculated by dividing the weekly rate appropriate to the level and step by the number of hours worked by an equivalent full time staff member employed in the same or similar category as prescribed in Schedule 1 of this Agreement plus the casual loading. 46.8.2 A casual staff member who is engaged to perform shift work is entitled to payment calculated at: (i) the base hourly rate; plus (ii) the applicable shift loading; plus (iii) the casual loading; for each rostered shift. 46.8.3 Overtime is only payable to casual staff in respect of work in excess of 20% of the ordinary weekly hours of an equivalent full time staff member, on 1 day. In respect of such excess the staff member will receive the greater of the overtime rate that would apply to overtime worked on that day by an equivalent full time staff member or the casual loading, but not both. 46.8.4 The minimum period of engagement for a casual staff member will be as follows: (i) persons who are students (including post graduate students) who are expected to attend the University on that day in their capacity as students will have a minimum period of engagement of 1 hour. (ii) persons with a primary occupation elsewhere (or with the University) will have a minimum period of engagement of 1 hour. (iii) tradepersons (other than electricians) and gardeners will have a minimum period of engagement of 1 hour. (iv) all other casual staff members will have a minimum period of engagement of 3 hours. (v) in order to meet their personal circumstances, a casual staff member may request and the University may agree to an engagement for less than the minimum of 3 hours.
Casual Staff. 14.1 A non-ongoing Staff member engaged for duties that are irregular or intermittent in nature will be paid for the actual hours worked, based on the appropriate salary rate as indicated at Attachment A plus a 20 per cent loading in lieu of all paid leave and accruals (excluding Long Service Leave) and public holidays on which they do not work.
Casual Staff. 34.02.1 Casual staff includes employees hired for specific assignments on an ad hoc basis excluding retired secretariat members hired or contracted to represent members at Judicial Council hearings or appointed as nominees to an Arbitration Board.

Casual Staff. 4.4.1 Casual staff will work set days of the week and set hours of the day. 4.4.2 Casual staff receive a loading as set out in the Social and Community Services Employees (State) Award. 4.4.3 Casual staff who work more than 35 hours per week are entitled to be paid overtime plus the casual loading as set out in the Social and Community Services Employees (State) Award. This means that casual staff who work overtime will also be paid overtime in line with permanent staff.
