JOB CONDITIONS. 14.01 Adequate and heated quarters on jobs requiring these facilities shall be provided on all jobs when this responsibility has not been covered by the general conditions of the contract which normally state this to be the responsibility of the General Contractor. 14.02 The Employer shall provide adequate and sanitary toilet facilities on all jobs when this responsibility has not been covered by the general conditions of the contract which normally state this to be the responsibility of the General Contractor. In this case the Employer will make all reasonable efforts to see to it that the general contractor accepts this responsibility as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act of New Brunswick. 14.03 The Employer shall provide adequate and sanitary drinking water facilities on all jobs. Ice water will be supplied when conditions warrant and when reasonably available. 14.04 Plumbers reporting for work must have in their possession the tools listed in the Plumbers’ Tool List as found in Appendix C. Such tools broken through normal use will be replaced by the Employer. 14.05 When tools and/or clothing of the Employee left in locked premises on the job site in premises controlled or provided by the Employer are destroyed or damaged as a result of fire or theft, the same shall be replaced or repaired by the Employer. 14.06 All items drawn by an employee out of the Employer’s stores, e.g. tools (outside of the basic tool list), hard hats and liners, rain gear, welding mitts, welding xxxxxxx, welding goggles, welding sleeves, jackets, capes, bibs, etc., shall be supplied by and returned to the Employer in the same condition as on issue, reasonable wear and tear is excepted. Non-compliance with this article shall be considered to be just cause for discipline by the Employer. 14.07 The Parties to this Agreement agree to adhere to the Rules and Regulations of the New Brunswick Occupational Safety Act. 14.08 A ten minute break shall be allowed after every two hours of work. This does not include lunch hour breaks which normally occur mid-shift 14.09 An Employee required by an Employer to take a test for a job specific welding test will do so during the regular hours while in the employ of the Employer. JOB CONDITIONS. A. Scheduling: The Contractor shall provide the phone number of a dispatcher, regularly employed by him; This number shall be manned twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week; recorded message taking devices are not acceptable. After receiving a service call from the Public Buildings Department, commence work within the following time limits: 1. Emergency work requests must start within 1 (one) hour. 2. All other work requests must start within two (2) workdays unless extended by Public Buildings Department. Before commencing work, contact the Public Buildings Department (phone 000-000-0000) and/or the Building Custodian to determine the exact location and extent of the required work. The Building Custodian will provide access and electrical outlets to all areas where the servicing is required. B. Notification: Within twenty-four (24) hours after services have been completed, notify the Public Buildings Department by phone or e-mail that the required work has been completed.
JOB CONDITIONS. 14.01 An Employee required to work more than ten (10) hours in a day or shift shall be provided with a hot meal paid by the Employer one hour beyond his regular shifts and be allowed one-half (1/2) hour with pay for lunch or be given one (1) regular hour’s pay at the regular rate. Payment in lieu of the hot meal shall be paid at the rate of $15.00. The same shall apply for every subsequent four (4) hour period after the first ten (10) hour period.

Old mitts and flashing glasses must be returned to the Employer for replacement. Items supplied by the Employer shall be charged against the Employee and credited to the Employee on their return. They must be in the same condition as when issued, reasonable wear and tear or accidental breakage excepted. A ten-minute break shall be allowed with each four hour work period, at a time designated by the Employer. It is agreed that the Union and the Employer, or both, shall discipline Employees abusing or violating this clause. Effort will be made to assure as little disruption of work as possible because of this article. If refreshments and/or food are taken then they will be consumed at the place of work and sufficient men shall be designated -to deliver same by Employer or his representatives. JOB CONDITIONS. 100 The Contractor shall confine operations at the site to areas permitted by law, ordinances, permit and the Contract Documents and shall not unreasonably encumber the site with any materials or equipment, unless otherwise permitted by the Authority. The Contractor shall at all times keep the work site free from accumulation of waste materials or rubbish carried by their operations. The site of the work is defined by limit of contract line shown on the drawings. Contractors may only extend their work beyond this line as may be necessary to satisfy requirements of all permits and to make utility and service connections. Before starting any work beyond the limit of contract, the Contractor will submit to the Professional and the Authority a description of the proposed work for their review and approval. The Contractor shall cooperate in the arrangements of their work as necessary to least affect the administration or operation of any present building, and shall protect their materials. Existing utility services roads and access ways will not be interrupted without prior approval by the Authority. The Contractor will comply with the Authority's prescribed times for acceptable outage periods.

JOB CONDITIONS. On all jobs a journeyman shall be appointed as a working xxxxxxx when three (3) or more men are employed. After ten are employed there shall be no working xxxxxxx. A xxxxxxx will not be permitted to be in charge of more than twelve 2) men. On jobs having three (3) or more foremen, a General Xxxxxxx shall be appointed from Local Mechanical contractors from outside the two (2) counties of Gloucester and shall class the key man as a Superintendent. This Superintendent shall have a xxxxxxx under him from Local The Superintendent shall not be entitled to work with any tools or handling of any material pertaining to plumbing, pipefitting, welding etc. He shall not be allowed to load unload piping, fittings, tanks or equipment of all description. The Employer shall provide welding mitts to welders and where required shall provide welding sleeves or capes and bibs with full coverage to the arms, chest and stomach at no charge to the employee. JOB CONDITIONS. 20.01 It is agreed that Local 46 and the Independent Plumbing & Heating Contractors Association will jointly lobby the Minister of Labour to introduce amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act requiring washroom facilities on construction sites. An employee shall be allowed a fifteen (15) minute coffee break once during each half shift. An employee shall take a one-half (1/2) hour unpaid lunch break midway through the work day, but in no event will he work more than five (5) consecutive hours without a lunch break. All personal electronic equipment will not be used during the workday with the exception of lunch and break periods. 20.02 When three (3) or more Local Union employees are employed on a project which is scheduled to last 20 working days or more, the Contractor shall supply or make arrangements for a chemical flush or water flush toilet where site conditions permit. 20.03 The Business Representative shall be allowed reasonable access to all places where Local 46 members are employed to carry out the duties of office in so far as access to the job is in the control of the Employers provided there is no interference with the progress of work.
