Overtime/Compensatory Time Off. An employee who has worked overtime may at the discretion of the Division/Department Head elect to receive time off in lieu of pay at the appropriate overtime rate, provided that the employee does not accumulate compensatory time in excess of Fair Labor Standards Act limitations. The application hereof shall be applied uniformly and shall not be arbitrarily or capriciously withheld. They shall receive this time off with pay in such a way as not to impair the operations of the work unit. In the absence of such election, the employee shall receive pay as provided herein. A) An employee may elect to receive a compensatory pay-out of any amount of their banked compensatory time with any payroll. B) An employee must take all compensatory time in excess of one hundred sixty (160) hours by April 30 of the year following the year in which the time was earned. If the employee has not taken the time by that date, then they shall be paid for all hours not taken in excess of one hundred sixty (160) hours in the next regular pay period. C) When overtime worked at alternate status is elected as compensatory time, the difference between hourly rates will be paid with the pay period of hours worked. D) Any remaining vacation time must be scheduled before compensatory time off is permitted after October 1st of each year.

Overtime/Compensatory Time Off. Overtime is defined as authorized time worked in excess of forty (40) hours in the designated workweek.
Overtime/Compensatory Time Off. 1. Hours worked beyond eight (8) hours in a day or forty (40) hours in a week shall be considered overtime. Compensation shall be at one and one-half (1 ½) times the regular rate of pay. 2. For employees assigned and in paid status four (4) or more hours per day, compensation for all hours worked on the sixth or seventh consecutive day shall be one and one-half (1 ½ ) times the regular rate of pay. For employees assigned and in paid status for less than four (4) hours per day, compensation for all hours worked on the seventh consecutive day shall be one and one-half (1 ½) times the regular rate of pay. 3. All overtime must be pre-approved by the immediate supervisor. It shall be mutually agreed upon at that time whether it is to be compensatory time or wages. Any overtime worked must be compensated by compensatory time or wages. Compensatory time shall be accrued at the appropriate overtime rate. Unauthorized overtime could be grounds for disciplinary action. 4. When compensatory time off is authorized by the District, in lieu of cash compensation, such compensatory time off will be granted within the fiscal year earned provided services rendered to the District are not impaired. 5. Compensatory time earned will be recorded at the appropriate rate of pay as recorded in this contract. Employees shall record actual hours worked on a time sheet and indicate comp time in lieu of pay. In the event of overtime, the Payroll Department will convert hours to appropriate overtime calculation for comp time. (i.e.) two (2) overtime hours worked will be recorded as the equivalent of three (3) hours regular time. 6. If the authorized compensatory time is not utilized within the fiscal year accrued, all compensatory time balances will be paid to the employee at the end of the fiscal year, no later than July 10th. Compensatory time may not be accrued after April 1st. After April 1st, all overtime will be paid at the appropriate rate for the remainder of the fiscal year. 7. Compensatory time records will be kept at the District Office. All compensatory time will be turned into the District Office monthly. The employee shall be responsible for completing an absence sheet upon returning.
Overtime/Compensatory Time Off. Overtime is defined as a City required act or time expenditure by an employee in excess of the regularly scheduled work shift. Overtime shall be calculated at one and one-half (1 ½) times the employee’s rate of pay or one and one-half (1 ½) times the number of overtime hours worked as compensatory time off (CTO). Compensatory time may be accumulated to a maximum of eighty (80) hours at any given time. During the month of June of each year, unit employees may, upon recommendation of the Department Head and approval of the City Manager, request pay-off of up to 80 hours of their accumulated compensatory leave balance. Requests shall be submitted in writing to the Department Head no earlier than June 1st and no later than June 26th of each year. Approved pay off shall be issued no later than June 30th of each year.
Overtime/Compensatory Time Off. If the City mandates an employee to work outside of the employee's standard workweek schedule, the employee shall be compensated in cash at the rate of one and one-half (1- 1/2) times the employee’s regular straight time rate of pay unless, at the employee’s request, compensatory time off has been approved by the Department Head or management designee. The City may authorize additional time to be worked by the employee outside of the employee’s standard workweek schedule. This time shall be compensated in cash or compensatory time-off at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee’s regular straight time rate of pay at the City’s discretion. Compensatory time off may be taken by mutual agreement of the employee and the supervisor. Employees will not be allowed more than one hundred and twenty (120) hours in their compensatory time bank at any one time. Should an employee change to a labor unit with a compensatory time off maximum below one hundred and twenty (120) hours, the City shall cash out any compensatory time the employee has banked that is in excess of the new compensatory time off maximum. Any excess compensatory time off will be cashed out at the employee’s regular straight time rate of pay in effect prior to changing labor units. Upon an employee’s separation, any unused compensatory time off will be cashed out at the employee’s regular straight time rate of pay in effect at time of separation.
Overtime/Compensatory Time Off hours worked beyond a normal 40-hour work week with compensatory time to be computed on one and one-half hours for every overtime hour worked; and (2) regular compensatory time off - extra hours worked which, when added to regular work hours, do not exceed 40 hours per calendar week with compensatory time to be computed at one hour off for every hour worked. Persons may not accumulate, during any contract year, more compensatory hours off than the total hours required in their regular contracted job for one calendar week. Compensatory time off requires the approval of the employee’s principal or other supervisor.
Overtime/Compensatory Time Off. 12.1 Overtime is defined to include any District-authorized time required to be worked in excess of eight (8) hours in any one day or any time in excess of forty (40) hours in any workweek. 12.1.1 A unit member who works authorized overtime shall be paid at a rate equal to 1-1/2 times his/her regular rate of pay for the overtime worked. Shift and special assignment differentials shall be included in determining the unit member’s regular rate of pay. 12.2 The District shall have the right to implement a “4-10” workweek. Prior to implementing such a decision, the District shall notify the Association of its intention and upon request, negotiate with the Association regarding such decision. 12.2.1 If a “4-10” plan is implemented, overtime will be paid for: 12.2.2 All hours worked in excess of 10 hours per day 12.2.3 All hours worked on the fifth, sixth and seventh days, except that a unit member working an average workday of five hours or less during a workweek shall receive overtime for any work required to be performed on the sixth or seventh day following the commencement of the unit member’s workweek.

Overtime/Compensatory Time Off. Overtime for work performed on a regular work day in excess of eight (8) hours (exclusive of a one-hour meal period) shall be compensated for either in money at the rate of time-and-one-half the Editor's, Newswriter's, Service Aide's or News Production Assistant’s applicable straight time hourly rate, or compensatory time off at the rate of one-and-one-half hours of compensatory time off for each hour of overtime worked. Overtime for work performed on a sixth or seventh work day within a single work week shall be compensated for either in money at the rate of time-and-one-half the Editor's, Newswriter's, Service Aide's or News Production Assistant’s applicable straight time rate, or a combination of four (4) hours straight time pay and eight (8) hours of compensatory time off, for each eight (8) hours of overtime worked. Editors, Newswriters, Service Aides and News Production Assistants shall notify the Company of their election of compensatory time off under this provision of the Agreement on the weekly time slip for the week in which the overtime was earned. Such Employees shall give the Company two (2) weeks notice of the day or days elected to take off. Consistent with past practice, compensatory time off requests are subject to the operating necessities of the Company. No Editor or Newswriter may elect to accumulate in excess of a total of ninety-six (96) hours of compensatory time off within a single contract year under Sections 8.3, 8.7 and/or 10.2
