Pay for Regularly Scheduled Work on a Paid Holiday. An Employee who is entitled to a statutory holiday with pay, who is required to work on that holiday, shall receive two and one-half (2½) times her regular hourly rate for all hours worked. There will be no additional day off for such an Employee, unless this can be arranged with the Employee’s immediate Supervisor, in which case the premium for working on the holiday will be at time and one-half (1½) with an additional paid day off.

An employee who has completed his probation period and is not scheduled to work on the above paid holidays shall receive holiday pay equal to one day’s pay. An employee who has completed his probation period and is scheduled to work shall be paid at the rate of time and one half (1 ½) plus another day off with pay, in lieu of holiday pay, at a time mutually agreed upon by the employer and the employee, provided he has worked his last scheduled shift prior to the holiday and his first scheduled shift subsequent to the holiday unless through sickness or other just cause.

Pay for Regularly Scheduled Work on a Paid Holiday. A full-time Employee who is scheduled to work shall be paid at the rate of time and one half (1½) plus another day off with pay, in lieu of holiday pay, at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee. Part-time Employees shall be paid in accordance with Article 24.06 plus time and one-half (1½).
Pay for Regularly Scheduled Work on a Paid Holiday. A part-time employee who is scheduled to work on a paid holiday as defined in Article 20.01 shall be paid at the rate of double time (2X) for the work performed, but regular statutory holiday pay entitlement otherwise payable will be waived. A regular part-time employee as defined in Article 1.02, and a full-time employee who is scheduled to work on a paid holiday as defined in Article 20.01 shall be paid at the rate of double time (2X) for the work performed plus regular statutory holiday pay entitlement. The benefit entitlement for the regular part-time employee shall be prorated.

Subject to Article 16.02 a full-time Employee who is not scheduled to work on the above paid holidays shall receive holiday pay equal to one day's pay. Subject to Article 16.02 an Employee who is scheduled to work on the holiday and who does report to work shall receive pay at the rate of 1.5 times the Employee’s regular rate of pay for work performed on such holiday. If the Holiday is Christmas Day, the employee shall receive two times (2x) the employees’ rate of pay for all hours worked. In addition, full-time Employees will receive holiday pay equal to one (1) day’s pay or one (1) day off with pay at a time designated by mutual agreement within sixty (60) days following the holiday. Such request shall not be unreasonably denied. If the holiday is not taken within sixty (60) days following the holiday, the day’s pay shall be paid out to the Employee. For paid holidays that fall on a Monday or Friday, the Employee who works the associated weekend shall work the holiday. Monday to Friday Employees shall have that day off as a paid holiday.

(total hours worked in the four weeks before the work week in which the holiday occurred, divided by 20) In order to qualify for any of the holidays mentioned above, an employee must have worked on his last scheduled work day immediately preceding and work the scheduled work day immediately following the holiday, unless the absence is due to an authorized leave of absence, or paid sick leave. Employees covered by this Agreement shall have either Christmas or New Year's Day off. Employees who are required to work either Christmas or New Years, shall have four (4) consecutive days off, which shall commence at either hours December or at hours December Wherever possible, this provision will apply to regular part-time employees. If a employee works Christmas or New Years' one year, they shall work the opposite the next year, where possible. Notwithstanding, every effort will be made to accommodate written requests based on seniority and availability. Where possible, this provision will apply to regular part-time employees.

Any employee who is scheduled to work shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) plus another day off with pay, in lieu of the holiday, at a mutually agreed time. Part-time employees shall receive payments for recognized holidays in accordance with the requirements as stated in the Employment Standards Act of Ontario as amended from time to time. Part-time employees will be paid at time and one-half (1-1/2) their regular rate of pay in addition to the holiday pay when working any of the above mentioned holidays. However, it is agreed that the Statutory Holidays to be recognized shall be those as per Article 22.01.

A part-time employee who is scheduled to work a paid holiday shall be paid at the rate of one and one half (1 ½) times his/her regular rate of pay, plus another day’s pay at his/her regular rate in lieu of the holiday.
