SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. In case of illness, the Executive shall be entitled to up to fourteen (14) days of sick leave per year and up to seven (7) personal per year. During authorized sick leave, the Executive's salary and other benefits shall continue to be paid or accrued. Unused sick days may be carried over from year to year but are not reimbursable upon the termination of this Agreement.
SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. Employees may convert up to three (3) sick leave days per year for use as personal time. Employee shall be required to provide notice consistent with department practices for use of vacation time. Use of sick leave for personal time is non-accumulative and may not be carried forward into the next fiscal year. Conversion of sick leave to personal days provided under this Section shall be for use as paid leave and shall not be eligible for cash-out or other monetary distribution.
SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. 16.1 120 sick hours (15 sick days) shall be credited to all fulltime officers on July 1st of each year. Sick time shall be credited pro rata for new fulltime employees. There will be a cap on accrued sick time of 175 days.
16.2 - ▇▇▇▇ leave shall be granted to an employee under the following conditions:
SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. A) Employees who do not use sick leave shall be granted twelve (12) hours of personal time for each calendar month that the employee does not use sick time. Such personal time shall be cumulative to seventeen (17) days. Any employee may sell back five (5) of his/her personal days for one (1) weeks’ pay whenever an employee has five (5) personal days accumulated. Employees are limited to three (3) such sell back events in any calendar year. Upon completion of six (6) years of service with the Fitchburg Police Department, such Officers hired after October 1, 2010, shall receive eight (8) hours’ personal time accrued per month for months that said Officer does not use sick time. Such personal time shall be cumulative up to twelve (12) days.
B) The City agrees that an individual Officer shall continue to accrue twelve (12) hours of personal time for months which the Officer does not use sick leave. If an individual is receiving C. 41, §111F benefits, s/he shall accrue personal time for the months s/he is receiving said benefit only up to a cap of seventeen (17) days. Once the employee accrues seventeen (17) days of personal time, said Officer shall not accrue any additional days until returning to regular duty. The maximum number of personal days on record for an individual receiving benefits under C. 41, §111F shall in no case exceed seventeen (17) days at any time while receiving said benefits. For a new Officer receiving C. 41, §111F benefits hired on or after October 1, 2010 shall receive four (4) hours personal time accrued per month for months that said Officer does not use sick time. Such personal time shall be cumulative up to twelve (12) days.
SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. The employee shall retain all unused sick leave/personal days accrued prior to his/her leave of absence.
SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. A. Sick Leave for all regular full-time Officers may be considered to be absence from work without loss of pay for the following reasons, subject to the approval of the Chief of Police, or in his absence, the Deputy Chief or the Lieutenant.
B. In the event of a bona fide personal and non-service connected illness or injury for which no compensation is received under ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇'▇ Compensation or other insurance coverage paid for by the Town, and except when employed at any occupation outside their employment by the Town.
C. An officer may be absent from duty without loss of pay for the following reasons, subject to the approval of the Chief of Police:
1. Should an Officer be absent from work due to injury directly attributed to employment by the Town, time absent shall not count against accrued sick leave, and the salary or wage paid to such Officer during such absence shall be the regular compensation less any payment received from any insurance paid for by the Town other than that paid as compensation for medical expenses.
2. When an Officer is exposed to a contagious disease in the normal performance of duty and acquires the disease.
SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. SHIFT PERSONNEL
A. During the period of this Agreement, all covered employees shall be credited a total of six (6) sick leave days, with regular pay, per year, (of which two (2) days may be used as personal days) and which sick leave days may be used prior to the employee using any of the employee’s accumulated sick leave days. Personal days must be scheduled one (1) week in advance. When a covered employee leaves the employment of the District, then for such year as said employee shall leave, the credited sick leave days shall be reduced for each month remaining in the year of his departure, on the basis of one-half (1/2) sick leave day per month, and the employee will be required to reimburse the District for any sick leave days taken but not earned at the time of the employee’s departure.
B. Employees in orientation shall receive the same sick leave benefits and conditions as are provided other covered employees. In the first year of employment new employees will earn sick leave at the rate of one-half (1/2) day for each full calendar month of employment.
C. Maximum Number of Sick Leave Days an Employee can accumulate will be a total of no more than sixty (60) days; those currently with more than sixty (60) days shall be exempt from the max total (grandfathered) accumulating or accruing no more than their current accumulation of days at the effective date of this Agreement. Individuals who have sick leave days exceeding sixty (60) days can sell those extra days at 100% of base salary up to a maximum of six (6) days annually.
D. Any employee who has an accumulation of at least thirty (30) sick leave days on December 31st of a given year may elect to sell up to six (6) days at 100% base wage in accordance with Table 2 in Section 3.01. If days are remaining, they shall carry over in the next year and accrue until the maximum of sixty (60) days is reached.
E. Employees demonstrating good stewardship of the sick leave/personal leave program shall receive up to two (2) additional Earned ▇▇▇▇▇ days as follows: Use of no more than 48 hours of sick leave: 2 Earned ▇▇▇▇▇ days Use of 49 - 72 hours of sick leave: 1 Earned ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇
SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. AND TEMPORARY LEAVES OF ABSENCE The Board will grant fifteen (15) sick days and five (5) additional days at the Board’s discretion. The Board will allow four (4) personal days. Unused personal days will be converted to one sick day for each unused personal day. Converted days may not be included in those accumulated for reimbursement when retiring or leaving the district. The Board shall grant four (4) days leave, with pay, for death in the immediate family, unless the deaths occur simultaneously, in which case the same days shall apply for each death. Immediate family shall include; mother or father, husband or wife, son or daughter, brother or sister, guardian, father-in law or mother-in-law, grandchildren, step family member and domestic partner. The Board shall grant three (3) days leave for aunt, uncle, grandparents, grandparent-in-law, sister-in- law, brother-in-law, niece and nephew. The Board will allow for extenuating circumstances.
5:4 a. Administrators leaving the Manchester Township School District for the purpose of retirement will be paid for sick leave at a rate of one-half (1/2) pay for each day, up to a maximum of $20,000. Any employee hired July 1, 1997 and thereafter, will only be paid for sick leave accumulated while employed in Manchester.
SICK LEAVE/PERSONAL DAYS. 1. Each employee covered by this Agreement shall be entitled to receive three (3) pro-rated personal days and two (2) pro-rated sick days for each semester worked. These days shall be credited at the beginning of each semester for a total of ten (10) days per school year. In the event the employee does not actually work the full scheduled semester in any year, he/she shall have a pro-rated deduction made from his/her accruals for each month in which the majority of days are not worked. If the employee does not have sufficient earnings to make the payroll deduction, he/she must reimburse the school district for such day(s). The maximum total accumulation of sick/personal days shall be one hundred twenty (120). Personal days must be approved by the food service director.
a. Regular full time and part-time employees of the Board shall receive pro-rata sick/personal leave days according to the hours they work on a regularly scheduled basis as defined in Article VII, Seniority.
b. Disabilities due to pregnancy shall be treated as any other disability.
c. Sick days will count as worked days if excused or approved by the Food Service Director, but any employee who is absent two (2) or more consecutives days for illness may be required to present a doctor’s slip covering the absence. On a calendar year basis (ten months per year), an employee who misses six (6) days for illness may be required to present a doctor’s slip for any absences or will be disciplined subject to the discretion of the Food Service Director. Employees who miss work due to illness must notify the High School Assistant Food Service Manager and Food Service Director two (2) hours prior to their scheduled shift in order to be paid.
d. Non work days or any foreseen time such as Professional Development Days, Parent-Teacher Conferences, Personal Time, Exams, Teacher Record Days, Christmas Break, Winter Break, Easter Break, and any other situation that may occur that may not be handled outside work time may be used for personal time. They also must be approved in writing at least three (3) work days or more prior to the personal day and approved by the Food Service Director.
e. Sick / Personal days balances will roll over to the next school year and shall remain the same as the previous year.
f. Personal days shall not be taken in connection with a weekend, holiday or school vacation break, unless approved by the Food Service Director.
