TOOLS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. Each Employee shall provide for his/her own use, the following (minimum): two spud wrenches suitable for fasteners on job; one six-foot tape; one six-pound hammer; one bull pin; one twelve-inch adjustable wrench; one belt and bolt bag; one hard hat; one pair pliers; one real and belt; one 7/8 Spud; and one ¾ Spud.
TOOLS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. 1. Such safety equipment as required by governmental regulations shall be provided without cost to the Employees. The Employer is entitled to establish a system of signing out for tools or equipment that is the property of the Employer and used by the Employee in his or her course of employment. If the tools are not returned, the Employer is allowed to deduct the cost of the missing item from the wages of the Employee that has signed out for the tool or piece of equipment. The Employer may only deduct an amount representing the reasonable value of the missing item.
2. Employees will be compensated for attending safety meetings conducted by the employer on the job site.
3. The Union and Employers recognize the value of a skilled and motivated workforce. To this end, Labor and management agree as follows:
(a) During the term of this Agreement, all workers covered by this Agreement should attend and successfully complete the OSHA 10 hour course at the Construction Laborers Education and Training Center.
(b) During the term of this Agreement, all workers covered by this Agreement should attend a minimum of eight (8) hours of skill improvement classes per year sponsored either by the Employer or the Education and Training Fund at the Laborers Training Center.
(c) Scheduling of these courses shall be the responsibility of the Employer in collaboration with the Union and the Education and Training Fund.
(d) OSHA 10 hour and skill improvement course training shall be done on the Employee’s own time and shall be not compensable.
TOOLS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. 13.01 Employees are responsible to bring to work a hammer, a tape, a pouch and safety boots, hard hat and eye protection. On the anniversary date of each employee, the Employer shall provide a tool allowance of fifty dollars ($50.00) for the replacement of worn or lost tools and equipment.
13.02 Besides the tools and equipment listed above, the Employer agrees to supply other tools necessary for employees to perform their work.
13.03 The Employer shall furnish each employee with an approved fall protection harness chosen by the employee, hearing protection as needed, and the Employer shall supply, to each employee who requires one, a respirator suitable to the work being done.
TOOLS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. 21.01 All Handymen are required to supply the equipment to do their jobs. The Employer will replace equipment worn through regular use at the workplace in the Employer’s sole discretion. The Employer will supply necessary tools required by Labourers at the job site. Labourers will ensure all tools are properly looked after and locked up at the end of the day/shift. If tools are worn, damaged or lost such Labourer will inform site supervision as soon as possible.
21.02 The Employer shall provide hard hats, harnesses, respirators, filters hearing protection and safety glasses to all employees as needed. The Employer agrees to replace this safety equipment that is damaged or worn through regular use. Lost safety equipment and any damaged by carelessness are replaced at employee cost.
21.03 Nothing in this provision shall preclude the Employer from enforcing its Health and Safety Policy with respect to safety equipment. Specifically, any failure to reference a safety measure or piece of safety equipment does not mean that employees are not required to use such measures or equipment in the performance of their duties.
TOOLS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. A. Safety Clothing and Equipment
TOOLS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. An Iron Worker shall furnish for his/her own use all necessary hand tools to enable him/her to effectively install his/her work. Tools, if broken, stolen, or burned on the job shall be replaced by the Employer. The Employer shall provide a gang tool box or other suitable place in which the employees may keep their tools. No employee shall be held responsible for the loss of tools and equipment in his/her charge. Tools and equipment furnished by the Employer to the employee will be returned to the Employer when he/she is laid off or discharged.
TOOLS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. The Employer shall provide all tools, safety footwear, and equipment required by employees in the performance of their duties.

13.03 The Employer shall furnish each employee with all required safety equipment; all of which shall remain property of the Employer and shall be returned to the Employer on the last day an employee works. Failure to return the safety equipment to the Employer will result in a deduction from any money owing to the employee for the value of the unreturned equipment.
13.04 Employees that have completed seven hundred (700) hours of work, and who have returned to work in a second consecutive calendar year shall be eligible each year for a tool/clothing allowance. Upon submission of a proper receipt for the purchase of safety boots, safety clothing, work pants or tools listed in 13.01 above, the Employer will reimburse one hundred percent (100%) of the cost for such items, to a maximum reimbursement of $330.00/calendar year. Winter Clothing Allowance: Employees who work a cumulative total of 400 hours from December 1 to March 15 shall be eligible for an additional increase of one hundred and twenty-five dollars ($125.00) to their tool and clothing allowance upon rehire or on April 1 if they were continuously employed.
TOOLS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. A. The Employer will reimburse the employee for all reasonable losses associated with fire or theft (in the job trailer and/or gang box) of the employee’s working clothes and working equipment at the work site (provided appropriate receipts are provided).
B. On abnormally dirty maintenance, revamp and repair work, in which the employee's clothes may be abnormally or permanently damaged, the Employer shall supply and maintain the necessary protective clothing at no cost to the employee for all employees covered by this Agreement.
C. The Employer will supply all safety equipment as directed by the Manitoba Occupational Health and Safety Act.
D. The Employer shall supply all hand tools and equipment necessary to complete the job.

Appropriate rigging belt to carry tools Tools listed from a. to e. when broken on the job, not through employee negligence, shall be replaced by the Employer provided the broken tool is immediately provided to the Employer at that time. An employee may be deducted from their outstanding wages for cost of tools and equipment which the employee signed for and failed to return to the Employer.
E. The Employer shall provide a room of adequate size to be equipped with a heating device and an air conditioner unit where practicable in which employees will eat their lunch, have their coffee breaks and may change and dry their clothes on all jobs of sufficient length to justify the provision of such a room.
F. The Employer and the Union hereby declare their intent to conduct a safe and healthy operation. The Employers and employees recognize that all work will be performed in accordance with the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and its regulations and any amendments thereto.
G. In consideration of the mutual benefits likely to be obtained, safety meetings shall be held on all projects on a weekly basis or at any time deemed necessary for the purpose of improving the health and safety of employees.
H. If employees or the Union have specific sanitary concerns with respect to a job site where employees are working, these concerns will be immediately raised with the Employer. The Employer commits to addressing these concerns to the best of its abilities with the General Contractor/Project Manager.
