Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. Sick leave with pay shall accrue to any full time employee on the basis of twelve (12) days per year.
Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. 1. The minimum sick leave with pay shall accrue to any full time employee on the basis of one (1) working day per month during the remainder of the first calendar year of employment after initial appointment to one hundred thirty-two (132) hours in every calendar year thereafter.
2. Any amount of sick leave allowance not used in any calendar year shall accumulate to the employee’s credit from year to year to be used if and when needed for such purpose.
Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. 1. A unit employee shall be paid accumulated sick leave at the hourly rate of that person’s last position upon separating employment with the City due to death, layoff, service retirement, or disability retirement.
2. The eligible unit employee will be paid up to fifty percent (50%) of all unused accumulated sick leave up to a maximum of sixteen hundred (1600) hours.
Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. Fraudulent or deceitful use of sick leave may result in the discipline of the employee so involved, including suspension or termination of employment.
Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. An Association member absent from work due to sick leave shall advise their supervisor or other appropriate person as designated by their department head, of their need to take sick leave as soon as they are aware they will not be able to report to work and no less than one (1) hour before the start of their scheduled shift. If, due to an emergency, an Association member is unable to contact the supervisor, every effort should be made to have a representative for the Association member contact the supervisor.
Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. Sick leave shall be granted at the rate of twenty (20) working days per year accumulative to one hundred and sixty (160) working days; provided, however, that members with Five (5) years' service or more within the Department shall be granted up to an additional sixty (60) working days' sick leave if the sickness is of such nature as to require a prolonged period of treatment and recuperation. All uniform and civilian members of Local 1363 who suffer a long term non-occupational injury or illness and said individual has exhausted his/her sick leave accrual, other members of Local 1363 may voluntarily donate unused sick leave to the affected member. The member donating the sick leave will have their sick leave accrual debited. During the month of January in each year the City of Cranston shall cause to be published and dispatched to the members of the Fire Department their present entitlement under this clause. Days of absence due to injuries and/or illness contracted outside the line of duty shall be subtracted from the employee's sick leave as hereinbefore specified. Days of absence due to injuries contracted in the line of duty shall not be subtracted from the employee’s days of sick leave hereinbefore specified. When an employee is absent for more than two (2) consecutive work days or after having more than eight (8) days of sick leave with pay during a calendar year, the Chief of the Department may require a physician's certificate or other satisfactory evidence in support of the request. The Fire Fighter may submit a certification from his own physician at his own expense or may elect to be examined by a City approved physician from a list of several maintained by the City, such examination to be paid for by the City. Willful violation of any of the sick leave provisions contained herein or the willful making of a false claim for sick leave shall subject the employee to disciplinary action and/ or the requirement to make restitution. If grounds exists to suspect a misuse of sick leave, the City has the right to investigate the employee, including sending a representative to the employee’s residence. In the event a Fire Fighter is on vacation and becomes ill, the vacation shall continue to be in effect. This provision will not apply to Fire Fighters injured in the line of duty or those on long term sick leave. Probationary firefighters will be granted 10 sick days during their probationary year. Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. 1. One
(1) working day of sick leave with pay for each month of service from the date of appointment up to and including the December 31st following such date of appointment, and fifteen (15) days sick leave with pay for each calendar year thereafter. The leave is credited in advance at the beginning of the year in anticipation of continued employment for the full year. If an employee required none or only a portion of the allowable sick leave for any calendar year, the amount of unused leave shall accumulate to his credit from year-to-year. The employee shall be entitled to such accumulated sick leave with pay if and when needed. An employee who leaves employment for any reason during the calendar year shall reimburse the Employer for paid sick days used in excess of his or her pro-rated and accumulated entitlement. Proration does not apply to County directed layoffs, disability, retirement, or to employees who terminated employment with ten (ten) years of service or more with the County of Cape May.
2. Provisional and permanent part-time employees shall be granted sick leave credit on a proportionate basis.
Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. 1. During the first year of employment only, employees shall be entitled to and accrue one and one-quarter (1¼) calendar sick days per month. Thereafter, sick leave shall be added each year as of January 1st at the rate of 15 calendar days per year per employee, in anticipation of continued employment for the full year.
2. Any amount of sick leave allowance not used in any calendar year shall accumulate to the employee's credit from year to year, to be used if and when needed for sick leave.
3. All full-time and part-time employees may use sick leave in hourly increments, as long as they are at the beginning or at the end of the work day.
Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. 1. Sick leave shall not be misused by a Unit Member or group of Unit Members.
2. Xxxx leave cannot be used by a Unit Member to enable him/her to earn wages from another employer.
Xxxxxx of Sick Leave. No unit employee shall misuse, feign, and/or misrepresent any illness or injury or deceive any other employee, supervisor, or any representative of the City as to their real condition for the purpose of remaining away from scheduled duty assignments. Proven misuse of sick leave shall result in disciplinary action, which could include dismissal from the City.
