Allocation of Sick Leave. 11.5.2.1 All annual full-time classified employees employed five (5) days/week shall be entitled to twelve (12) working days sick leave annually. Credit for sick leave need not be accrued prior to taking sick leave except that a new employee of the District shall not be eligible to take more than six (6) days or the proportionate amount to which employee may be entitled. The twelve (12) days sick leave shall be credited annually to the employee record at the beginning of the fiscal year. Any unused portion of sick leave shall be accumulated from year to year without limit and kept on deposit for future use. 11.5.2.2 Employees assigned less than twelve (12) months annually shall be entitled to that proportion of twelve (12) working days sick leave days for illness or injury as the number of months they are employed bears to twelve (12). 11.5.2.3 Employees working less than eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days or less per week, twelve (12) months per year or less, shall accrue sick leave on a pro-rata basis as their days of work bear to the full work week of five (5) days. 11.5.2.4 Employees shall accrue entitlement for sick leave while on approved vacation. 11.5.2.5 All sick leave entitlement shall be recorded in hours. After exhaustion of paid sick leave an employee who is ill or injured may use all vacation and compensation time to avoid leave without pay.

The use of sick leave shall result in an extension of the probationary period at the rate of one (1) day's extension for each day of sick leave used.
