Allocation of Sick Leave. 11.5.2.1 All annual full-time classified employees employed five (5) days/week shall be entitled to twelve (12) working days sick leave annually. Credit for sick leave need not be accrued prior to taking sick leave except that a new employee of the District shall not be eligible to take more than six (6) days or the proportionate amount to which employee may be entitled. The twelve (12) days sick leave shall be credited annually to the employee record at the beginning of the fiscal year. Any unused portion of sick leave shall be accumulated from year to year without limit and kept on deposit for future use.
11.5.2.2 Employees assigned less than twelve (12) months annually shall be entitled to that proportion of twelve (12) working days sick leave days for illness or injury as the number of months they are employed bears to twelve (12).
11.5.2.3 Employees working less than eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days or less per week, twelve (12) months per year or less, shall accrue sick leave on a pro-rata basis as their days of work bear to the full work week of five (5) days.
11.5.2.4 Employees shall accrue entitlement for sick leave while on approved vacation.
11.5.2.5 All sick leave entitlement shall be recorded in hours. After exhaustion of paid sick leave an employee who is ill or injured may use all vacation and compensation time to avoid leave without pay.
Allocation of Sick Leave. 1. Permanent full-year Unit Members shall be entitled to sick leave without loss of salary at the rate of thirteen (13) days per year. Sick leave shall accumulate as follows:
a. Permanent annual Unit Members shall have thirteen (13) days sick leave credited annually to their records at the beginning of the fiscal year as of July 1. Any unused portion shall be accumulated year after year and kept on deposit for future use.
b. Permanent Unit Members employed less than twelve (12) months annually shall have sick leave days credited annually to their records at the beginning of the fiscal year on a prorated basis. For example, a Unit Member scheduled to work ten (10) months will be credited with ten and three quarters (10-3/4) days of sick leave. Any unused portion shall accumulate year after year and be kept on deposit for future use.
c. Probationary Unit Members may earn sick leave at the rate of one (1) day per calendar month for the duration of the probationary period. Such sick leave may be used, as accumulated, for the reasons defined under paragraph A. above. The use of sick leave shall result in an extension of the probationary period at the rate of one (1) day's extension for each day of sick leave used.

2. Unit Members will receive a cash bonus during the month designated below if their sick leave usage over the prior fiscal year does not exceed the following amounts. Part-time Unit Members will be prorated. 0 days $ 175.00 up to 1 day $ 100.00 up to 2 days $ 50.00 Bonus will be paid in the June 30, pay warrant.
Allocation of Sick Leave. 26 At the beginning of each work year, twelve (12) days illness, injury, and emergency leave shall 27 be available to all employees at their equivalent hourly rate with unused days of this leave to 28 accumulate to a maximum not to exceed days in the employee’s annual work year. Accumulated 29 sick leave shall not be compensable when the employee retires from employment, except as 30 provided by law. Sick leave benefits shall be paid at the rate of pay the employee would have 31 earned had he/she worked on the day the leave was taken.
Allocation of Sick Leave. Of the calculations at 4.2 (Aa) Sick Leave accrual above, 1/3 of the accrued time is part of the rate set out at 4.1 Paid Time Off regarding the Nurse’s PTO bank and 2/3 comprises the Nurse’s LTB.

12.3.2 Full time employees on other than 12-month assignments shall receive sick leave of one day per month of assignment.
12.3.3 Part time employees shall accrue sick leave on a proportionate basis as his/her workweek relates to 40 hours.

4.3.11.3 Probationary members may earn sick leave at the rate of one day per calendar month credited for use during the six months of their probationary period.
4.3.11.4 Emergency and limited term members will not earn sick leave credit unless they are subsequently appointed into permanent positions without a break in service.
