ARTICLE HOLIDAYS. The Society recognizes the following as paid holidays: New Years Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Family Day Effective for and following years, the parties agree to substitute Civic Holiday for Family Day and further agree that this substitution complies with the provisions of the Employment Standards If it is found that the substitution is in contravention of the Employment Standards the parties agree that Family Day will be substituted for Civic Holiday. To be eligible for holiday pay, an Employee must have worked all of her last regularly scheduled day of work before the public holiday and her first regularly scheduled day of work after the holiday unless reasonable cause for not doing so, is shown. Where an Employee is eligible to be paid for a paid holiday, the Employee shall be paid the average of the Employee’s daily earnings, exclusive of overtime and travel time, and inclusive of vacation pay over a period of (4) four work weeks divided by twenty (20) proceeding the paid holiday. Where an Employee qualifies for holiday pay in accordance with the provisions of this agreement, the Employee shall receive credit for seniority on the basis of an average of the service hours worked during the four (4) work weeks preceding the holiday. If an Employee is required to work on any paid holiday, she shall be paid for the holiday in accordance with (provided she otherwise qualifies), and in addition will receive one and one-half times her regular hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on the holiday. ARTICLE HOLIDAYS. The Health Centre recognizes the following as designated paid holidays. New Year's Day Labour Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Civic Holiday (1st Monday in August) And any other day proclaimed as a stat holiday. When any of the above noted holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday and are not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday and/or Tuesday and/or the preceding Friday shall be deemed to be holidays for the purpose of this Agreement at the discretion of the Health Centre. In addition to the above designated paid holidays the Health Centre will provide each full- time employee who has completed her probation, with three (3) non-premium floating holidays once in each calendar year, at a time mutually agreeable to the Health Centre and the employee. In the event mutual agreement cannot be reached, the employee shall be allowed to take the floating holidays with her scheduled vacation. A part-time employee who transfers to a full-time position during the course of a calendar year, or a new full-time employee hired during the course of a calendar year, shall have her float days pro-rated according to the effective date of her transfer. In order to qualify for payment for each designated holiday, an employee must work her normally scheduled shift both immediately preceding and immediately following the holiday, unless absence on either or both of the said qualifying days is with reasonable cause. When any of the above mentioned designated holidays fall on or are observed on an employee’s regularly scheduled day off, she will receive an additional day off in lieu with pay at a time mutually convenient to the employee and the Health Centre. In the event that mutual agreement cannot be reached, the employee may take the day off in conjunction with her vacation period.
ARTICLE HOLIDAYS. The following holidays, regardless of when they fall, will be granted with pay to employees who have completed their probationary period: New Year’s Day January Good Friday Easter Monday Victoria Day Canada Day Labour Day Christmas Day Day Boxing Day Payment for such holidays shall be based on the employee's regular hourly rate multiplied by eight (8) hours. When any of the said holidays falls on other than a regular working day, then the Company may either designate some other day as the day upon which the said holiday will be celebrated, or pay the employees who qualify for the said holiday as though it had fallen on a regular working day, whichever the Company prefers. In order to be entitled to payment for a holiday, an employee must have worked the full scheduled working day immediately preceding the holiday and the full scheduled working day immediately following the holiday provided that an employee fails to so work due to lay-off or illness, which is verified to the satisfaction of the Company, shall not thereby be disqualified from holiday pay, provided the employee has worked on one or more of the five working days prior to the holiday and returns to on any of the five working days following the holiday. An employee who works on one of the above named public holidays shall receive payment at time and one-half for the hours actually worked in addition to receiving holiday pay. Where one of the above-named public holidays falls during an employee's approved vacation period, the employee shall be allowed an extra day's vacation with pay or an extra day's pay at the option of the Company. Effective August I, part-time employees will be paid of earnings on each paycheque of holiday pay. A part-time employee who works on one of the following holidays listed in shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half for all hours on that day. In the event that the Federal or Provincial Governments declare a holiday during the life of this Agreement, it shall be recognized. Seniority, as referred to in this Agreement, shall mean length of i continuous service in the employ of the Company and shall be applied on as defined in clause ! ARTICLE HOLIDAYS. The Board recognizes the following as paid holidays for Employees: New Year's Day Civic Holiday Good Friday Labour Day Easter Monday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day Employees covered under this Agreement, including Employees, shall be entitled three floating holidays in addition to the above mentioned holidays. One floating holiday will be scheduled during Christmas break. The two remaining floating holidays will be taken during Christmas break, March break, summer break, or in the Administration Centres at a time mutually agreeable to the employee and supervisor. If and when a public holiday is proclaimed by either the Federal or Provincial Government, one floating holiday shall be eliminated on January 1st of the year the proclaimed holiday comes into effect. Employees are not eligible to receive holiday pay for any holidays which occur during a regularly scheduled lay-off time. When any of the above noted holidays falls on a Saturday or Sunday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the previous Friday or following Monday, as decided by the Board, shall to be the holiday or holidays for the purpose of this Agreement. Payment of holidays will be for part-time Employees on the basis of their status.

ARTICLE HOLIDAYS. Employees in the active employ of the employer who have completed their probationary period and who are not required to work on the holiday concerned shall receive pay for the following holidays: News Years Day Canada Day Boxing Day Good Friday Victoria Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Remembrance Day Christmas Day Anniversary of Employment Family Day Holiday pay shall be computed on the basis of the number of hours the employee would otherwise have worked had there been no holiday, at his regular straight time hourly rate of pay. In order to qualify for holiday pay, the employee must work his scheduled shift on each of the work days immediately preceding and immediately following the holiday concerned. If an employee works on one of the above-named paid statutory holidays, he will receive payment at time and one-half for the hours actually worked by him addition to receiving his holiday pay. It is understood that non-statutory holidays will not attract a premium if worked. In the event that one or more of the aforementioned holidays occurs during the eligible employee's vacation, the company shall grant the extra day's holiday with pay to the eligible employee as provided herein. If an employee is not eligible for payment for a declared holiday and is required to work, he or she shall receive one and one-half times the regular straight time hourly rate of pay for hours worked that day.
