Certified Employees. A. The school calendar will set the instructional days and in-service/professional development days, which shall at least meet the requirements and needs set by law and the New Mexico Public Education Department. The development of the school calendar shall provide for employee input with the primary consideration being what is in the best interest of the students.

Certified Employees. 1. Each certified employee shall be paid in accordance with the approved salary schedule.
Certified Employees. Believing that our staff of employees as a group will make a greater contribution to the children they serve if additional training is obtained in fields related to their work, the Board will reimburse an employee toward the tuition costs in college courses he/she has completed within the present calendar year, in which a grade of “B” or better is earned, or for certain approved CEU courses while under contract with the Board. The courses must be in the employee’s area of certification/license or as otherwise approved by the superintendent. The employee must submit the required form (Appendix ) for approval prior to the start of the class. The total reimbursement for these college courses shall not exceed $1,500.00 in any one calendar year
Certified Employees. Any full-time employee whose position requires certification from the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) is eligible for temporary disability leave. The purpose of temporary disability leave is to provide job protection to full-time educators who cannot work for an extended period of time because of a mental or physical disability of a temporary nature. Temporary disability leave must be taken as a continuous xxxx of time. It may not be taken intermittently or on a reduced schedule. Pregnancy and conditions related to pregnancy are treated the same as any other temporary disability. Employees must request approval for temporary disability leave. An employee’s notification of need for extended absence due to the employee’s own medical condition shall be accepted as a request for temporary disability leave. The request must be accompanied by a physician's statement confirming the employee's inability to work and estimating a probable date of return. If disability leave is approved, the length of leave is no longer than 180 calendar days. If an employee is placed on temporary disability leave involuntarily, he or she has the right to request a hearing before the board of trustees. The employee may protest the action and present additional evidence of fitness to work. When an employee is ready to return to work, the immediate supervisor and superintendent should be notified at least 30 days in advance. The return-to-work notice must be accompanied by a physician's statement confirming that the employee is able to resume regular duties. Certified employees returning from leave will be reinstated to the school to which they were previously assigned if an appropriate position is available. If an appropriate position is not available, the employee may be assigned to another campus, subject to the approval of the campus principal. If a position is not available before the end of the school year, the employee will be reinstated to a position at the original campus at the beginning of the following school year. WORKERS' COMPENSATION BENEFITS‌ An employee absent from duty because of a job-related illness or injury may be eligible for workers’ compensation weekly income benefits if the absence exceeds seven calendar days. An employee receiving workers' compensation wage benefits for a job-related illness or injury may choose to use available, partial-day increments of sick leave or any other paid leave benefits to make up the difference between wage benefits...
Certified Employees. JOB DEVELOPER HABILITATION SPECIALIST BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST TRANSITION COORDINATOR Effective with the 1998 - 2001 contract, all employees hired for the above classifications shall be placed in accordance with their training and experience on the ATCO Salary Schedule columns titled BA (Bachelor's degree) and B.A.+23 (Bachelor's degree with 23 quarter hours) and MA (Master's Degree). This classification will apply to Habilitation Specialist 2, requiring certification as defined by current Adult Service Standards. All employees in these classifications, hired prior to the ratification of the 1998-2001 contract, shall be grandfathered into the Salary Schedule column titled BA+23 and advanced three experience steps in order to reflect their base and step increase.

Certified Employees. The Board of Education has agreed to reimburse certified staff members for a proportionate amount of tuition in the acquisition of additional college semester hours. The amount of the reimbursement per semester hour shall equal the actual cost of tuition and books, not to exceed the Illinois State University per semester hour rate. Courses for which reimbursement is to be allowed shall be approved in advance by the Superintendent. Not more than three (3) semester hours credit (or one course, if for more than three (3) semester hours) will be approved per semester during the regular school term. Reimbursement shall be limited to a total of twelve (12) semester hours per year, per employee. The Superintendent may grant additional semester hours per employee on a case-by-case basis for special circumstances. Generally, the Superintendent shall only approve 300 level and higher courses for tuition reimbursement and movement on the salary schedule. However, the Superintendent shall give consideration to authorizing tuition reimbursement for 100 and 200 level courses for teachers, in special situations. If denied, teachers may appeal to the Board. In any event, 100 and 200 level courses shall never qualify for movement on the salary schedule. For those teachers with Master’s Degrees, 300 level courses will not qualify for movement on the salary schedule. A 400 level or higher course shall be required for movement on the salary schedule for a member with a Master’s Degree. The above reimbursement shall be paid when evidence of the following is presented:
Certified Employees. The Board shall contribute $400 per month for each employee toward the cost of the sole District Approved Health Insurance. Any employee who chooses not to participate in the District Approved Health Insurance Plan will have the option of applying the unused portion of the contribution to salary. Employees may sign up for this benefit to be applied to their salary in the enrollment period of August 15 through September 5 each school year, and the employee may not change the amount applied until this enrollment period the following year.
Certified Employees. Each teacher shall be entitled to three (3) days per year for personal business or emergency without loss of pay or reduction of sick leave. Teachers shall notify the Superintendent at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance. The Superintendent may waive the twenty-four (24) hour advance notice at his discretion. It shall not be necessary for the employee to include the reason for taking such leave when making this request. Not more than three (3) teachers may be absent for personal reasons on the same day without approval of the Superintendent. Personal days shall not be granted the day before or after a holiday, first or last day of school, day before or after institutes or vacations unless special permission is granted by the Superintendent. Each teacher's unused personal leave days at the end of the school year will be converted to sick leave days, unless the teacher requests in writing by the last required teacher attendance day that the Board reimburse the teacher for unused personal days at the rate of $65.00 per day.
