E-Learning Days. Minnesota State Statute §120A.414 allows school districts to hold e-learning days due to inclement weather. The Superintendent of Schools has sole authority to call for an e-Learning day, as school district must meet a minimum number of instructional hours and instructional days each year. District 622 will utilize an e-Learning day once the district is at risk of falling below the required number of instructional hours and days. When an e-Learning day is utilized, it will be for the entire district, and the expectations are the District will follow MN Stat. §120A.414 and applicable changes.

E-Learning Days. In the event of E-learning days being utilized, non-certified staff's contracted days and hours will not be reduced. In the event of E-learning days being utilized non-certified staff's responsibilities for the day will be directed by their supervisor.
E-Learning Days. In the event that the Superintendent declares the need for an “e-Learning Day” pursuant to the District E-Learning Plan: 1. Xxxxxxxx, nurse, and specialist employees will be allowed to work remotely from home; and 2. Security employees will report to work as requested by their supervisor. To work remotely, the employee must: 1. Work the entire, regularly scheduled shift; and 2. Be accessible by telephone and other electronic means; and 3. Remain “on call” and locally available for job-related duties; and 4. If assigned a computer, bring the computer home in order to perform regular or assigned duties to the greatest extent possible. District supervisory staff will be available to provide necessary support. If a GESSA employee is unavailable for remote work, the employee must notify the supervisor prior to the scheduled start time. The unavailable employee may use paid leave time, if available.
E-Learning Days. On E-Learning Days employees must be allowed to work from home to the extent practicable. Employees will work with their site administrator to determine duties on E-Learning Days.
E-Learning Days. The School Calendar contains five (5) emergency days to be used in the event instructional days are canceled due to an emergency (including but not limited to inclement weather). The District and the Association agree that the District may replace any regular student attendance day canceled due to an emergency with E-Learning Days. The concept of E-Learning days is that students shall complete learning activities from home due to the emergency closing of school. E-Learning Days shall be utilized in compliance with and will adhere to the District’s approved E-Learning Plan. Should any changes to the E-Learning Plan be required, such changes must be mutually agreed upon by the Board and the Association. 5.2 Unless excused by the Administration, Employees shall attend all meetings scheduled by the Administration outside the Basic Work Day. No meeting shall be scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, Vacation, or Holidays. These meetings shall include, but not be limited to, student conferences, parent conferences, departmental, building and District meetings. Where possible, Administration shall give Employees three (3) days prior notice of such meetings. Such “meetings” do not include any extracurricular paid duties that are covered by other provisions. 5.2.1 In the event there is a need for scheduled departmental, building or District meetings to extend outside the Basic Work Day, “Extra Time” shall be computed from the time the Employee is scheduled to be at a meeting until the time Employee is permitted to leave. Where the Administration modifies the Basic Work Day for Parent-Teacher Conferences, the time for such Parent- Teacher Conferences shall not be considered Extra Time. Extra Time shall be computed to the nearest one-half (1/2) hour. 5.2.2 In the event any Employee is expected to attend meetings as defined in Section 5.2 or other emergency student situations (as defined on 5.2.6) that arise outside the Basic Work Day totaling Extra Time in excess of ten (10) hours per School Year, such Employee shall receive compensatory time off in an amount that equals the Extra Time in excess of ten (10) hours. Such compensatory time must be taken in increments of not less than 30 minutes. Employees must give their direct supervisor one day’s prior written notice of their intent to take compensatory time. E-Learning Days. If the District utilizes an E-Learning day in lieu of a regular attendance day, employees that work less than 255 days per year could be required to perform duties remotely on that day but would not be required to make up the day at the end of the year or lose any normal wages as a result of the change.

E-Learning Days. Employees will have the option of working remotely on e-Learning Days and complete approved training or other professional development, or employees may report to work if it is safe for them to do so. Employees will be paid their regular rate of pay on e-Learning Days. If the employee chooses to report to the work site, they may use the uninterrupted time on site to complete work tasks they may not otherwise be able to do with staff and students in the building. Employees are responsible for their own internet access on e-Learning Days. Employees may supplement the remote work day with available paid leave time.
E-Learning Days. If a Member District enacts an E-Learning Day (in place of a snow days, watermain break, flooding, furnace/boiler issue, etc.…) hourly employees will have the following 3 options available: 1. Use a personal day(s) or a sick day(s) in place of the e-learning day(s). Personal day(s) must be utilized first. 2. Make the day(s) up before the end of the current calendar year. If not made up the day(s) will become a dock day(s). 3. Choose a dock day(s) in place of the other two options. Hourly employees will be required to contact administration with their decision within 48 hours of the e-learning day, or it will become a dock day.
E-Learning Days. If the school district declares an emergency closing, and in-person instruction is halted, but remote instruction continues, the following are expectations: 1. Custodians will be compensated for physically coming into work (if the conditions are safe) to remove snow or regularly clean. 2. Paraprofessionals will be compensated if they are able to join virtual classrooms and assist instruction and it is approved through the building administrator. 3. Nurses will be compensated if they are able to demonstrate their work and hours to their immediate building supervisor. Or they may make up this time after the school year is over with finalization of paperwork. 4. Food Service will be compensated if they physically come to work (if the conditions are safe) to prepare meals. Or they may make up this time after the school year is over deep cleaning the kitchen areas for up to 3 days. 5. Transportation will be compensated if they physically come into work (if the conditions are safe) to drive any routes that may be needed. Or they may make up this time after the school year is over deep cleaning buses for up to 3 days. 6. Administrative Assistants will be compensated if they are able to either work from their laptop from home, in regards to normal job duties, with the building administrator’s approval, or physically come into work (if the conditions are safe). Or they may make up this time after the school year is over for up to 3 days.
