Employee Orientations. CSEA shall have one orientation session with each new district employee in the bargaining unit. This orientation session shall take place within one month of the new employee’s first day of service and shall not exceed 15 minutes unless the session is with a group of new employees. If the session is with a group of new employees, the session shall not exceed 60 minutes. The date and time of the session shall be scheduled as mutually agreed to by the supervisors of all participants. Rev: 2/22/18

No employee shall suffer a loss in compensation or benefits as a result of participating in or attending the union’s presentation. When a bargaining unit employee is hired after the employee orientation or when the District does not conduct an orientation, the union may meet with the new employee in their work place, provided that the meeting does not interfere with the District’s operations.

The Association shall have District-paid release time to attend and participate in the annual new bargaining unit member orientation meetings for the President and up to three (3) bargaining unit members, selected by the Association. 5.11.3 The following information for each newly hired bargaining unit member shall be provided to the Association President in digital spreadsheet format no later than thirty (30) days after the date of hire: 1. Name 2. Home Address 3. Phone Numbers – work, *home and *cellular 4. Personal (non-District) Email Address 5. Work Site 6. Date of Hire 7. Full time Equivalent (FTE) status 8. Employment Status (i.e., Probationary, Permanent, Temporary, etc.) 5.11.4 In addition, two (2) times during the contracted school year (two (2) weeks from the first day of each semester) the District shall provide to the Association President the following information in digital spreadsheet format for all bargaining unit members: 1. Name 2. Home Address 3. Phone Numbers – work, *home and *cellular 4. Personal (non-District) Email Address 5. Work Site 6. Date of Hire 7. Full time Equivalent (FTE) status 8. Employee Orientations. The City shall provide written notice at least ten (10) days prior to an Employee Orientation where one or more employees hired into classifications represented by the bargaining unit will be present. The Union shall be afforded thirty (30) minutes to meet with all employees hired into positions represented by the bargaining unit in attendance. To the extent such employees for any reason do not, within sixty (60) days of beginning work, attend an Employee Orientation, the Union shall have the option to schedule a thirty (30)-minute meeting with the employee(s) provided that the Union and the Human Resources Director or designee mutually agree on the day and time of the meeting. One (1) Union representative may be released for up to one (1) hour without loss of pay to attend to present materials and information to the employees in positions represented by the bargaining unit.

The Association shall be permitted to meet with employees during regular work hours at their regular work location to discuss grievances, complaints, and other workplace-related matters, without loss of compensation or benefits to any employee, including any designated representative attending the meeting.
