Employee Work Hours. The lengths of the work year, workweek, and workday, as well as the number of employees in these alternative educational programs, are dependent upon fluctuations in average daily attendance, categorical funding changes and community needs. The District reserves the right to add to, reduce or eliminate the work hours of an employee in these alternative educational programs, based upon changes in average daily attendance.

Employee Work Hours. 1. While engaged in distance learning, unit members are expected to continue to work their regular work hours (6.5 hours for bargaining unit members, with the limited exception of those 8.0 hour-job classifications specifically set forth in the collective bargaining agreement) in which they will provide the required daily instructional minutes to students, and inclusive of time spent to engage in planning and preparation time, participation in IEP meetings, collaboration time with their colleagues, responding to student and parent emails, phone calls, and questions, and participating in faculty meetings and professional development. 2. The schedule of part-time bargaining unit members will be proportionately reduced in accordance with the staff member’s full time equivalency. 3. Unit members will have the ability to access their school site and classroom while the District is using the distance learning model for purposes of facilitating distance learning and teaching from their classroom, provided they follow any state and federal orders regarding physical distancing and health and safety measures. 4. Unit members choosing to access and work from their classroom/workspace shall complete a District provided training on health and safety requirements; unit members shall sign an agreement certifying they understand and will follow the requirements set forth. a. Unit members shall develop a schedule and partner to conduct educator health screenings upon arrival and prior to entering campus. Screening information will be logged and held at the site and shared with the administrator. The district will provide all necessary materials to safely conduct health screenings. b. Administrators shall assist unit members in coordinating the site access schedule and the partnering of educators for temperature taking. c. Unit members shall not be compelled to work from their classrooms during district-wide online learning. d. Face masks shall be worn in all public areas and may be removed only when the unit member is alone in their classroom/workspace. Concerns relating to individuals who may be unable to wear a face mask will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. e. Only one person can be in the designated classroom/workspace (i.e. single classroom) per day. All necessary adults who supervise and support, teach, or assist in the classroom such as administrators, prep teachers, RSP teachers, and paraprofessionals should be given access as a student in to the Google Classroom to allow them to perform their duties and support the classroom teacher. Administrators shall be provided with access to observe live virtual platforms. In the interest of mitigating any potential interruptions/disruptions to the instruction, the administrator will notify the unit member prior to the start of school on the day of the visit.

Employee Work Hours. Representatives of the Union on the Committee shall not lose pay or benefits for meetings mutually scheduled during their duty times.
Employee Work Hours. Starting and quitting times shall be established by the District for all employees within the terms of this Agreement. A shift of more than five (5) hours per day shall include a minimum thirty (30) minute uninterrupted, duty-free lunch period when the employee is free to leave the work site. The meal period shall commence no less than two (2) hours but not more than five (5) hours from the beginning of the shift. Employees shall be offered a rest period of fifteen (15) minutes, on the employer’s time, for each four hours worked. Rest periods shall be scheduled as near as possible to the midpoint of the work period. No employee shall be required to work more than three (3) hours without a rest period. Time worked in excess of eight (8) hours in any one day for five (5) days per week employees, or ten hours in a day for four (4) days per week employees, or forty (40) hours in any one work week, shall constitute overtime and shall be paid at time and one-half the employee’s base pay. Saturdays and Sundays will be paid based on FLSA. Holidays are paid at straight time unless the additional hours trigger overtime under FLSA. The pay for hours worked on the holiday is in addition to the holiday pay benefit. All overtime must be preauthorized by the employee’s immediate supervisor utilizing the District’s Overtime Authorization Form included in Appendix E (1). An employee may elect to receive compensatory time off at the rate of one and one-half hours for each hour of overtime worked, beyond eight (8) hours in a day or forty (40) hours in a week, in lieu of cash compensation. Time worked in excess of an employee’s normal schedule, but not in excess of eight (8) hours in a day or forty (40) hours in a week, will be compensated on an hour-for-hour basis. For approval of overtime in emergency situations when a building administrator(s) is unavailable, the employee should contact the Executive Directors of Teaching and Learning.

  • EMPLOYEE WORK YEAR 9.1 The work year shall be as follows:

  • Employee Workload ‌ The Employer shall ensure that an employee’s workload is not unsafe as a result of employee absence(s). Employees may refer safety related workload concerns to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee for investigation under Article 22.3 (Occupational Health and Safety Committee).

  • EMPLOYEE PERSONNEL FILES 24-1 It is recognized by the parties that the School District may prescribe regulations for the custody, use and preservation of the records, papers, books, documents and property pertaining to the School District. However, to the extent that any records, papers, or other documents covering Employees of the Association do not relate to pre-employment data, every Employee shall be allowed to review the personnel file at any reasonable time upon request. No Employee's request shall be deferred for more than seven (7) School Days for a central office file and no more than two (2) School Days for a site location file excluding weekends and holidays. If any Employee is involved in a grievance regarding matters in the personnel file which may be material, an Association officer or other Association Representative with the written approval of the Employee may also be granted access to the Employee's personnel file at reasonable times where such access is authorized in advance by the Employee. The District shall provide copies of all legally permissible information pertinent to the grievance. 24-2 A copy of each written report, comment, or reprimand concerning an Employee which the School District places in the Employee's personnel file shall be provided that Employee. The Employee must sign the personnel copy of the report, comment, or reprimand as directed as acknowledgment of receipt of a copy of the document. Such signature may not be construed as agreement to the contents of the document. Upon request, an Employee shall be provided, at the prevailing rate per page, a reproduction of any material, excluding any pre-employment documents, in the Employee's file. Unless requested by the Association, such a request may not be made more than one time per year. 24-3 Any written response by the Employee to any written report, comment, or reprimand will also become a part of the Employee's personnel file and will remain a part of said file as long as the report, comment, or reprimand responded to remains a part of the file. In order to insure that the response is not inadvertently overlooked, the Employee will note under his or her signature on the report, comment, or reprimand at the time the response is delivered that a response has been made and the document will be countersigned by the receiving administrator and shall be attached to the supervisor's document. If an Employee desires to make a written response to any written report, comment, or reprimand issued by the Immediate Supervisor or Appropriate Administrator, the Employee's response must be made within twenty (20) days. Upon written request of the Employee, a waiver of the time limits by the Appropriate Administrator, not to exceed twenty (20) days, may be granted, which will not be unreasonably withheld. When a copy of the Immediate Supervisor's or Appropriate Administrator's written document is forwarded to any other location, a copy of the Employee's written response must be attached. 24-4 Upon review of the personnel file, an Employee may respond to documents, comments, or reprimands contained therein that the Employee believes to be inaccurate. The Employee's response shall be directed to the Superintendent's designee. If upon investigation by the Superintendent's designee it is determined that the Employee's response is accurate, the response shall become part of the Employee's personnel file or the comment, document, or reprimand in question may be removed by the Superintendent's designee. The determination as to whether the Employee response is accurate and whether said response shall become part of the Employee's personnel file or the comment, document, or reprimand in question shall be removed are determinations that shall be grievable. The Performance Evaluation Report shall remain a permanent part of the Employee's personnel file. If it is determined that the information contained within the evaluation is not substantiated as factual, the District shall replace the evaluation with a corrected copy. 24-5 It is the School District's intention that work rules, policies, and procedures are to be interpreted and applied uniformly to all Employees under similar circumstances.

  • Safe Workplace A) The Employer and employees recognize the need for a safe and healthful workplace and agree to take appropriate measures in order that risks of accidents and/or occupational disease are reduced and/or eliminated. Employers will take all reasonable steps to eliminate, reduce and/or minimize threats to the safety of employees. B) An employee performing visitation to clients in the community shall have the right to request backup to attend where there is reasonable cause to expect a violent situation and will have access to appropriate communication equipment. C) When the Employer is aware that a patient/resident/client has a history of violent behaviour, the Employer shall make such information available to the employee. Upon admission or transfer the Employer will make every reasonable effort to identify the potential for aggressive behaviour. In- services and/or instruction in caring for the violent patient will be provided by the Employer. D) The Employer will provide orientation and/or in-service which is necessary for the safe performance of work including universal precautions, the safe use of equipment, safe techniques for lifting and supporting patients/residents/clients and the safe handling of materials and products. The Employer will also make readily available information, manuals and procedures for these purposes. The Employer will provide appropriate safety clothing and equipment.
