Description of the services Executive overview A panel of external Forensic Investigation Service providers is required to perform forensic and anti- corruption consulting and investigation services on an “as and when” required basis, at Eskom Holdings SOC Limited (“Eskom”) and its subsidiaries. The Forensic and Anti-Corruption Department (“Forensic”) is responsible for the investigation of fraud, corruption, financial and general irregularities affecting Eskom in an independent and objective manner without fear, favour or prejudice. Upon completion of an investigation, the department’s responsibility extends to assisting management in the implementation of consequence management which includes disciplinary action and loss recovery (where applicable). Whilst it is part of consequence management, the department is solely responsible for the implementation of criminal related consequence management (where applicable). Forensic operates on a co-sourced model as approved by the Audit and Risk Committee. The model allows internal investigators and outsourced investigations to co-exist simultaneously. Forensic investigations will be investigated either by internal investigators, or by the allocation criteria between the two is primarily number based.
