IN-SCHOOL WORK YEAR. 1. The in-school work year for employees contracted on a normal continuing contract basis shall not exceed one hundred and ninety (190) days.
IN-SCHOOL WORK YEAR a. The in-school work year for teachers employed on a ten month basis shall not exceed one hundred and eighty-five (185) days but not less than one hundred and eighty (180) days.
b. The in-school work year shall include days when pupils are in attendance, orientation days and any other days in on which teacher attendance is required.
IN-SCHOOL WORK YEAR. The In-School Work Year for all Teachers employed on a ten (10) month basis shall be up to one hundred eighty four (184) days for each In-School Work Year during the duration of this Agreement. Said In-School Work Year for Teachers shall consist of (i) up to one hundred eighty one (181) student days, and (ii) up to three (3) non-student contact days, with at least one (1) of these non-student contact days occurring at least one (1) day prior to the date when School opens for students, in addition to any other required professional development time in this Agreement, to be used for staff development, curriculum writing or similar professional activities as determined by the BOARD or the Superintendent or his/her designee. Teachers shall work a four (4) hour session on the last day of the In-School Work Year. New Teachers may be required to attend three (3) additional days for orientation/training. Orientation/training to be held after August 15th. Workshop(s) focusing on the provisions of this contract and the salary/benefit programs shall be part of the orientation/training program. All first-, second-, and third-year non-tenured teachers shall attend three (3) after-school workshops in their first year of employment and two (2) workshops during their second and third years of employment. These workshops will focus on clarifying district initiatives, curriculum procedures, and expectations. One workshop in the first year of employment will focus on clarifying the role and responsibilities of the principal, mentor, and other administrative staff in supporting the novice teacher. The schedule for the two (2) hour workshops shall be included in the District’s Professional Development Calendar. Two workshops in the first year of employment shall be scheduled on Mondays. One (1) of the two (2) workshops in the second and third years of employment shall be scheduled on Monday. Teachers attending these workshops shall receive Service Credit for each hour of attendance. Teachers shall forward their applications to the Service Credit Committee for approval. New teachers shall attend all other meetings, for example, faculty and instructional meetings, professional days, curriculum meetings, and grade-level meetings required of all teachers. IN-SCHOOL WORK YEAR. The in-school work year for employees covered by this agreement shall not exceed 194 contract days (up to three (3) additional days for new employees), made up of a combination of student contact days, work days, in-service days and seven (7) paid holidays: (Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, President's Day, Good Friday, and Memorial Day). (When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the holiday will be observed on the next Monday. If the holiday falls on a Saturday, the holiday will be observed on the previous Friday.) Employee attendance shall not be required, and the day will not be considered a contract day when, in the sole discretion of the Employer, student attendance is not required due to inclement weather or other emergency closings.

The work year for teachers (other than personnel who may be required to attend additional orientation sessions and those teachers whose individually negotiated teacher contracts so state) will begin on the Monday preceding Labor Day. Schools shall not be in session on the Friday preceding Labor Day and shall terminate no later than June 30.
2. The work year for teachers shall consist of one hundred eighty (180) student days plus a maximum of four (4) days for the purpose of orientation, conference day, and/or any other day on which teacher attendance is required. The District shall allow teachers in grades K-6 to spend

IN-SCHOOL WORK YEAR. The In-School Work Year for ten (10) month employees is the period of the time between the time School opens for Teachers after the general summer vacation until the commencement of the next succeeding summer vacation (June 30th or earlier).

IN-SCHOOL WORK YEAR. The Teachers’ in-school work year shall consist of one hundred eighty-five (185) days, including five (5) professional days. Newly hired Teachers shall work five (5) additional “orientation days” pursuant to Section One, Article VIII Paragraph B.
IN-SCHOOL WORK YEAR. 1. Subject to the educational, operational, and financial needs of the District, the work year for Paraeducators shall equal the number of annual student days established by the Board plus a workshop day the day before commencement of classes. Paraeducator attendance at a workshop may be mandatory or optional at the discretion of the Board, or its designees(s). In addition, each Paraeducator will be allowed to attend three (3) scheduled teacher workshop days with full pay within the teaching calendar year. Therefore, the work year shall consist of the number of student days plus one, the number of student days plus two, the number of student days plus three, or the number of student days plus four. The existing work year for Paraeducators may be changed after prior notification and consultation with the Association.
2. Each Paraeducator will be allowed to attend one (1) scheduled professional day with full pay, within the teaching calendar year, for the purpose of professional development and growth.
3. Paraeducators shall be eligible to attend workshops in the District and/or to work their regular hours or any combination thereof on early release days. Additionally, no employee shall be required to accept compensation time in lieu of wages.
