Overtime Additional Hours. A. Time and one-half (1.5) for overtime will be computed after forty (40) hours of actual work in a given week. Paid leave time including holidays will not count toward the forty (40) hours. All overtime or additional hours must be authorized by an appropriate supervisor. Overtime Additional Hours. Any work outside your ordinary hours of work is called additional hours. Where you work additional hours, you will be paid at your normal hourly rate of pay.

Overtime Additional Hours. 32.1 No employee shall work overtime unless instructed to do so by their immediate supervisor, and the payment for any overtime worked may be made in the next ensuing pay period. 32.2 All work performed outside or in excess of the ordinary working hours for classification levels 1 – 4, but not level 5, as prescribed in Clause 3.1 will be deemed to be overtime and shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half for the first 3 hours and at the rate of double time thereafter. Employees who refuse overtime (3) times will be removed from the overtime list for the remainder of the year. 3. Whenever overtime or additional hours are authorized, the employee on the list with the least number of overtime or additional hours in the classification and building will be called first and so on down the list, in an attempt to equalize the overtime or additional hours among the employee on the list. Employees, when requested to work overtime or additional hours, will be advised as to the number of hours worked. 4.   • Reasonable Additional Hours All hours worked over an average of 38 ordinary hours per week, will be deemed to be additional hours. All hours worked by part-time employees beyond their guaranteed minimum number of hours will be treated as additional hours for the purpose of this subclause. From time to time, full time employees may be required to work a reasonable amount of additional hours. Part time employees may be asked, but not required, to work a reasonable number of additional hours. All additional hours worked will be paid in accordance with this Agreement. An employee may not be required to work additional hours in circumstances where the working of additional hours would result in the employee working hours which are unreasonable having regards to (refer to section 62 of the Act): (a) any risk to employee health and safety from working the additional hours; (b) the employee's personal circumstances, including family responsibilities; (c) the needs of the workplace or enterprise in which the employee is employed; (d) whether the employee is entitled to receive overtime payments, penalty rates or other compensation for, or a level of remuneration that reflects an expectation of, working additional hours; (e) any notice given by the employer of any request or requirement to work the additional hours; (f) any notice given by the employee of his or her intention to refuse to work the additional hours; (g) the usual patterns of work in the industry, or the part of an industry, in which the employee works; (h) the nature of the employee's role, and the employee's level of responsibility; (i) whether the additional hours are in accordance with averaging terms included under section 63 in a modern award or enterprise agreement that applies to the employee, or with an averaging arrangement agreed to by the employer and employee under section 64; (j) any other relevant matter.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Additional Holidays Every day declared by the President or Governor of this State as a public fast, mourning, thanksgiving, or holiday, or any day declared a holiday by the Governing Board under current Education Code or its successors shall be paid holidays for all employees in the bargaining unit.   • Extra Hours For the purpose of Clause 20.13, extra hours means any hours available to be worked in excess of an employee’s regular schedule. The Corporation shall determine the extra hours it requires in each circumstance, and offer such hours to employees working in that Post Office in accordance with the provisions of this Clause. (a) On each occasion that extra hours are to be worked, opportunities to work the extra hours are to be offered to employees who notify the Postmaster beforehand of their availability, on the basis of the first opportunity to the employee who works the greatest number of regularly scheduled hours per week, last opportunity to the employee who works the least number of regularly scheduled hours per week. (b) Where two (2) or more employees are working the same number of hours per week, the opportunity shall be first offered to the employee with the longest continuous employment in that Post Office save that an employee who was formerly full-time and whose hours were reduced in accordance with Clause 12.05(a)(i) shall have priority. (i) In the application of this Clause, it is understood that a Part-Time Assistant shall be granted an opportunity to work extra hours provided that the extra hours do not conflict with her regular schedule, and provided she does not work more than eight (8) hours per day, or forty (40) hours per week. (ii) Subject to Clause 20.13(c)(i) the Part-Time Assistant who is granted the first opportunity to work extra hours should, while the opportunity lasts, end up working a total number of hours that is not less than the total number of hours worked by the Part-Time Assistant who accepts the second opportunity, and so on for each subsequent opportunity granted. (d) Where all the extra hours to be worked cannot be covered by application of the principle expressed in (a), employees may be assigned to work the extra hours that cannot be covered, and/or those hours may be covered by other means. (e) Application of this Clause entails no obligation on the part of the Corporation for equal distribution of extra hours.

  • Payment for Working Overtime on a Holiday Where an employee is required to work authorized overtime in excess of his regularly scheduled hours on a paid holiday, such employee shall receive twice (2x) his regular straight time hourly rate for such authorized overtime.

  • Flexible Working Hours The Employer will, where operational requirements and efficiency of the service permit, authorize experiments with flexible working hours if the Employer is satisfied that an adequate number of Employees have requested and wish to participate in such an experiment.

  • Payment for Overtime 1. Except as provided in 2.C.3., below, overtime shall be compensated at one and one-half (1 1/2) times the regular rate. 2. Except as provided in 2.C.3., below, for all regular, limited-term and probationary employees, overtime may be converted to compensatory time or paid for at the option of the agency/department. Consideration shall be given to effectuating the wishes of employees. The maximum number of CTO hours which may be accrued by any employee is eighty (80). If an employee accrues 80 hours of CTO, he/she cannot accrue additional CTO until he/she uses some of the hours in his/her bank; instead, employees will be paid for all overtime work performed in excess of that amount. 3. Overtime hours worked by extra help employees shall be paid. 4. Compensatory time earned and accrued by an employee in excess of thirty-two (32) hours may be scheduled off for an employee by his or her agency/department; however, consideration shall be given to effectuating the wishes of those employees requesting specific compensatory time off periods. 5. No scheduled compensatory time off will be cancelled except in cases of emergency. 6. In no case may an employee's work schedule be changed during the workweek when the purpose of such change is to avoid overtime compensation. 7. Time worked as overtime shall not be used to earn fringe benefits or to serve out probation or merit increase periods. Compensatory time off may be used as part of the established workweek to earn fringe benefits and to serve out probationary and merit increase periods. 8. An employee separating from the County service shall be paid for accumulated compensatory time in a lump sum payment.

  • Payment for Working Overtime (a) For all work done outside ordinary hours, the rates of pay will be time and a half for the first two hours and double time thereafter. (b) Except as provided in clause 8.4, in computing overtime each day’s work will stand alone. (c) To avoid doubt, overtime provisions for shift workers are contained in clause 10.7.
