Summer Help. Employees working in Summer Programs will be paid based on the Summer Salary Schedule. This schedule includes a 3% increase in addition to the current Classified Salary Schedule. An employee working within their current classification will be placed at the same Step during the Summer Program as he/she would receive during that fiscal year.

Summer Help. (a) The Company shall not be required to provide fringe benefits, pension contributions, insurance coverage or reserve hours as set forth in Article 17 for persons employed during the summer months except for Call‑In pay as set forth in Section 2.3. (b) Summer employee minimum wage rate is one ($1.00) dollar above the minimum rate as set by the U.S. Department of Labor. If such minimum wage rate is increased by the Department of Labor during the life of this Agreement, summer employee pay rates will increase accordingly. Such employees are not to be employed below the quarry rim, the intention being that they are not to perform general production work. (c) The Company will not have the right to hire such summer quarry employees as long as there are employees of the Company on layoff who can perform available work and who are willing to do so.
Summer Help. All temporary summer positions in the school district shall be posted. Bargaining unit members who have made application shall be considered for temporary summer assignments in the school district. All temporary summer assignments shall be completed by October 31st of each year.
Summer Help. Summer help employees may be used to augment the existing workforce for the summer months. Bargaining unit employees who are normally off during the summer months and are interested in filling these positions will notify the superintendent in writing annually of their interest. During the summer break, employees who successfully bid into a different classification than they normally would have worked shall not accrue seniority during that time frame. Available positions will be filled applying the following priority: Availability, qualification to do the work, and seniority. Summer Help employees will be paid eighty percent (80%) of the base pay for the job being filled.
Summer Help. Up to five (5) students at any one time may be employed by the district as summer workers and if more are required; ten (10) month employees who are members of the Union will be first offered the additional jobs before employing additional students. If a ten (10) month employee is employed, the rate of pay shall be their current rate of pay at the appropriate step of the Custodian I rate based on the employee's seniority, and s/he shall accumulate vacation days and sick days for each month in which s/he works at least sixteen (16) days. These sick days are to be added to the accumulation and available for use during the employee's regularly scheduled work year, and are not to be used while s/he is working during the summer. The above shall not apply to youth/students whose services are offered to the district but who are paid by another governmental agency. The district agrees not to layoff Union members because of the acquisition of such labor. Members of the Union will not be expected to supervise any of the above in the work to which they are assigned.

Summer Help. If the Administration determines that additional help is needed for summer cleaning, school-year employees will be offered the opportunity to work prior to hiring new employees. This does not preclude the use of subsidized employees, students, or temporary staff.
Summer Help. Summer help positions, if any, shall be posted. If non-probationary 10-month bargaining unit employees request in writing to be considered for a posted summer help position by the deadline stated on the posting, such 10-month employees shall be given first consideration for such summer help positions for which they are determined to be qualified before high school or college students are hired. Any 10-month employees who are employed for summer help positions shall be paid the actual hours worked at the hourly rate established by the District for the summer position. Any hours worked in such summer position by a 10-month employee shall not be counted or used to change said employee's status to that of a full time employee; nor shall any such hours be counted for seniority purposes or for any other purpose.
