Temporary and Seasonal Employees. A temporary or seasonal employee is an individual who performs work within the bargaining unit covered by this Agreement for a predetermined period of time to fill positions left vacant by reason of leaves of absence, vacations and emergencies, or is employed to supplement the work force. Temporary and seasonal employees shall not be included in the bargaining unit and shall not be employed in excess of one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days in any twelve
Temporary and Seasonal Employees. All temporary and seasonal employees who work at least a total of six months within a calendar year, or continuously, and who maintain their seniority in accordance with Article 20 - Seniority, shall be entitled to vacation with full pay as hereinafter provided.
a) Temporary and seasonal employees who have accumulated less than four years of actual service shall earn annual vacation leave with pay computed as 15/12ths of the number of months worked in the current calendar year, calculated to the nearest half day.
b) Temporary and seasonal employees who have an accumulation of four years of actual service shall, during the calendar year when four years of service is completed and thereafter, earn an annual vacation calculated in each year on the basis of 20/12ths of the number of months worked in the current calendar year, calculated to the nearest half day.
c) Temporary and seasonal employees who have an accumulation of 11 years of actual service shall, during the calendar year when 11 years of service is completed and thereafter, earn an annual vacation calculated in each year on the basis of 25/12ths of the number of months worked in the current calendar year, calculated to the nearest half day.
d) Temporary and seasonal employees who have an accumulation of 21 years of actual service shall, during the calendar year when 21 years of service is completed and thereafter, earn an annual vacation calculated in each year on the basis of 30/12ths of the number of months worked in the current calendar year, calculated to the nearest half day.
e) An employee having earned vacations as outlined in Paragraphs (a), (b), (c) and

Temporary and seasonal employees shall not be included in the bargaining unit and shall not be employed in excess of one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days in any twelve (12) month period commencing from the original date of hire without an express waiver from the Union. If a temporary employee becomes a regular full-time employee, the bargaining unit will recognize seniority from the original date of temporary, uninterrupted employment; the probation period for such employees shall not be waived. The Employer reserves the right to determine all conditions of employment for such individuals.
Temporary and Seasonal Employees a) All employees originally hired on a temporary basis for longer than 120 calendar days shall be eligible for the same benefits as permanent and provisional employees.
b) Employees originally hired for 120 calendar days or less shall not receive any of the following benefits: health insurance, disability, personal time, bereavement pay, floating holiday and holiday pay. If an employee originally hired for fewer than 120 days is continuously employed for longer than 120 days, that employee shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance effective the first day of the month following the 121st day of employment. The employee will accumulate vacation, disability and personal time effective the 121st day from the original date of hire. An employee shall be eligible for a “personal holiday” if the 121st day of employment occurs prior to the last day in the last full pay cycle of the year.
c) If an employee originally hired for fewer than 120 days receives a provisional or permanent appointment in any title in any department, that employee shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance the first day of the month following the month in which such appointment is made, and will accumulate vacation, disability and personal time from the original date of hire.

b) Employees originally hired for 120 calendar days or less shall not receive any of the following benefits: health insurance, disability, personal time, bereavement pay, floating holiday and holiday pay. If an employee originally hired for fewer than 120 days is continued for longer than 120 days, that employee shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance as of the 121st day and will accumulate vacation, disability and personal time from the original date of hire. An employee shall be eligible for a floating holiday if the 121st day of employment occurs prior to the last day in the last full pay cycle of the year.
c) If an employee originally hired for fewer than 120 days receives a provisional or permanent appointment in any title in any department, that employee shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance as of the date of provisional or permanent appointment and will accumulate vacation, disability and personal time from the original date of hire. THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS IMPORTANT FOR CALCULATING BENEFITS: HIRE DATE – Last date of hire with no subsequent break in service. FRINGE DATE – All time in service with Xxxxxxxx County (also called the Anniversary date). ACCRUED FRINGE TIME consists of Vacation, Compensatory Time, Personal Time and includes remaining previously accrued Sick Time.

If an employee originally hired for fewer than 120 days is continuously employed for longer than 120 days, that employee shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance and dental insurance effective the first day of the month following the 121st day of employment. The employee will accumulate vacation, sick leave, and personal time effective the 121st day from the original date of hire. An employee shall be eligible for a “floating holiday” if the 121st day of employment occurs prior to the last day in the last full pay cycle of the year, if otherwise eligible.
d) If an employee originally hired for fewer than 120 days is continued in the same position in the same department for longer than 120 days, (or receives a permanent or provisional appointment in the same title in the same department), that employee shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance and dental insurance as of the first day of the month following the 121st day of employment, and will accumulate vacation, sick time (including personal time) from the original date of hire.
e) If an employee originally hired for fewer than 120 days receives a provisional or permanent appointment in any title in any division, that employee shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance and dental insurance as of the first day of the month following date of provisional or permanent appointment, and will accumulate vacation, sick time (including personal time) from the original date of hire.
f) All employees appointed to the title of “Seasonal Employee,” who are hired for 190 days or less shall not receive any of the following benefits: health insurance, dental insurance, sick time (including personal time), disability, or bereavement pay. They shall, however, receive holiday...
Temporary and Seasonal Employees. Temporary employees and seasonal employees shall not be eligible to become Participants. Temporary employees are those who are hired on a full or part-time basis for a specific assignment, or for a job that is not expected to be permanent, where the length of employment typically does not exceed six months.
Temporary and Seasonal Employees. Temporary employees shall not be part of the bargaining unit and shall be limited to sixty (60) days of employment as a temporary employee unless such employee is filling a position vacant due to sickness, leave or absence/long term leave, or injury. Seasonal employees shall not be a part of the bargaining unit.

This paragraph specifically does not apply to seasonal employees.
d) If an employee originally hired for fewer than 120 days receives a provisional or permanent appointment in any title in any division, that employee shall be eligible to sign up for health insurance and dental insurance as of the date of provisional or permanent appointment and will accumulate vacation, sick time (including personal time) and disability from the original date of hire.
e) All Department of Public Works employees designated seasonal who are hired for 190 days or less shall not receive any of the following benefits: health insurance, dental insurance, sick time (including personal time), disability, or bereavement pay. They shall receive holiday pay.
