Transportation Personnel. Salary schedule shall be based on their hourly rate of pay and shall be based on 188 days per year. Minimum hours of 4.33 hours per day for Drivers and 5.33 hours for TCTC. (6 hours if transporting for the Charter School).
Transportation Personnel. Transportation personnel will have a work week as scheduled by the Transportation Supervisor. Transportation personnel may be required to attend up to four (4) hours per year of safety training with pay. Time spent by bus drivers waiting for completion of activities or field trips will be considered non-driving time. The hourly rate to be paid for non-driving time will be the regular rate of pay for all drivers. The District will pay a meal allowance, but mealtime will not be paid time.

Transportation Personnel. Transportation personnel shall be paid the same wage increase as in 15.1 for 180 day. Anything beyond 180 days will be paid on a per diem basis.
Transportation Personnel. A. All new employees shall be hired at an entry pay rate designated as Step 1 in his/her job classification. After the probationary period, the employee shall be placed on Step 2. The employee shall move to Step 3 on the next August 1st provided he/she has at least three (3) calendar months on Step 2. If less than three (3) calendar months, the employee shall remain on Step 2 until the following August 1st. After one (1) year on Step 3, the employee shall go to Step 4. From that point on, the employee shall advance in accordance with the approved schedule of steps.
B. If a driver/aide is required to transport any passengers on a stated paid holiday, they shall receive time and one-half in addition to their holiday pay.
C. Any employee required to attend meetings shall be paid for such required hours of work at the employee's regular rate of pay.
D. When a driver/aide has a layover of 45 minutes or less between regular runs or activity trips and regular runs, that time shall be paid at their regular rate with approval of the supervisor upon timely application on Form BTF #3. The employee shall not be required to stay on the premises.
E. Transportation mechanics shall be paid a tool allowance of $30.00 per two-week pay period. Mechanics shall be provided uniforms for wear in the performance of assigned duties.
F. The Kettering Board of Education shall include tools owned by mechanics in the Transportation Department on the Board's (School District's) Property and Contents inventory for the purpose of insuring against loss due to vandalism, theft, fire or other insurable catastrophe while tools are on Board property. The premium for such insurance and payment of any deductible in the event of loss shall be the responsibility of the Board.
G. Overtime shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) the employee's regular pay for all hours worked in excess of eight (8) paid hours per day or 40 paid hours in a calendar week (Monday - Sunday).
H. Mechanics who are required to report to work in an emergency situation (example: bus breakdown, alarm, break-in) shall receive two (2) hours minimum compensation.
I. When make-up days for calamity days are scheduled on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, the regular driver may choose whether to drive that day. Transportation Personnel a. Bus drivers shall work the same number of days as required for transportation “to and from” for District students. In addition, transportation personnel are required to complete sixteen (16) hours of professional development annually. These hours will be compensated at the driver’s hourly rate. The workday shall consist of hours as their routes call for including cleaning of buses, pre- and post-trip inspections as calculated in the length of each route. On a work day when a school is unexpectedly closed and students will not be transported to and from the affected school, employees assigned to that school’s runs will be paid for a full day’s work provided the employees report to work in a timely manner and complete assignments made by the employees’ supervisors.
b. Bus Aides and Handicapped Routes. The District will comply with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations regarding the transportation of special needs students, assignment of bus aides and related matters.
Transportation Personnel. During the first year of employment, employees will receive no more than five (5) vacation days. Vacation days will accumulate at the rate of 1.25 days per month beginning with the sixth month of employment to June 30 of that year. Full-time transportation personnel will work every day in the year except their vacations, Saturdays, Sundays and designated holidays. If a full-time transportation personnel’s normal work week consists of Saturday and Sunday, no overtime or double time will be paid for these days. The Transportation Supervisor may assign bus drivers as needed during emergencies, rescheduled field trips or athletic trips, and/or unanticipated situations without reference to seniority.
