UNION RECOGNITION AND DUES. The Company recognizes the Union as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for all matters affecting the wages, hours and terms and conditions of employment of its employees in the bargaining unit. This Agreement covers all individuals performing work covered by this Agreement or any supplements and/or riders hereto, including: All bus routes or runs, all maintenance mechanic work, and any movement of buses, vans or any other vehicle that will be used for the purpose of transportation by the Employer, as well as all work traditionally and historically performed by bargaining unit personnel. All present employees who are members of the Local Union on the effective date of this subsection or on the date of execution of this Agreement, whichever is the later, shall continue to satisfy any and all financial requirements or other obligations of the Local Union or meet the requirements of a service fee payor. As a condition of employment all employees must pay either the Union’s initiation fees and periodic dues or service fees which in the case of a regular service fee payor shall be equal to the Union’s initiation fees and periodic dues, and in the case of an objecting service fee payor shall be the proportion of the initiation fees and dues corresponding to the portion of the Union’s total expenditures that support representational actives. All present bargaining unit employees who are not members of the Local Union and all employees who are hired hereafter into the bargaining unit shall satisfy any and all financial requirements or other obligations of the Local Union as set forth above on and after the thirty-first (31st) calendar day following the beginning of their employment or on and after the thirty-first (31st) calendar day following the effective date of this subsection or the date of this Agreement, whichever is the later. An employee who fails to satisfy the financial requirements or other obligations of the Local Union as herein provided, shall be terminated seventy-two (72) hours after his/her Employer has received written notice from an authorized representative of the Local Union, certifying that membership has been, and is continuing to be, offered to such employee on the same basis as all other members and further, that the employee has had notice and opportunity to make all dues or initiation fee payments. UNION RECOGNITION AND DUES. Section 1: Recognition The Employer recognizes the Union as the sole and exclusive bargaining agency on behalf of all its employees, "in a unit composed of office, clerical, technical and staff employees in the City of Port Xxxxx, including, but not limiting the generality of the foregoing, employees who function as coordinators, supervisors and superintendents, except policemen, firemen, dispatcher/guards, and construction, operational and maintenance employees of the Engineering and Parks and Recreation Department" (See Certification from L.R.B. dated May 22, 1974) and hereby consents and agrees to negotiate with the Union, or any of its authorized committees, concerning all matters affecting the relationship between the parties to this Agreement, looking towards a peaceful and amicable settlement of any differences that may arise between them. Persons whose jobs are not in the bargaining unit shall not work on any jobs which are included in the bargaining unit except for the purpose of instruction, experimenting, or in emergencies when regular employees are not available, and provided that the act of performing the aforementioned operations, in itself, does not reduce the hours of work or pay of any employee. No employee shall be required or permitted to make any written or verbal agreement with the Employer or representatives of the Employer which may conflict with the terms of this Collective Agreement.
UNION RECOGNITION AND DUES a) Every employee who is now or hereinafter becomes a member of the Union, shall maintain membership in the Union as a condition of employment, and every new employee shall, within days of employment become a member of the Union as a condition of continued employment with the provision that the Union will not deny any employee the right to join in accordance with the local bylaws or constitution of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Deductions shall be made from the payroll on a basis and these deductions shall be forwarded to the financial secretary of the Union after the next scheduled accounts payable cheque run. Notwithstanding the Board's obligation to provide notice of suspension, layoff or termination, should the Union suspend the membership of an employee the Union will notify the Board in writing at least working days before such suspension and the Board will not employ the suspended member for the duration of the suspension, nor will the Board be liable for any wages during the period of suspension. The Board, at the end of each month, will provide a complete list of Union employees to the Financial Secretary of the Union, showing: Union dues deducted; The name, address and starting date of any new employee; The name, address, and termination date of all permanent and temporary employees leaving the employment of the School District.

UNION RECOGNITION AND DUES. 2.1 The District has certified and exclusively recognizes the Teamsters Local 150 as the bargaining representative for those represented classifications, within the Parks Maintenance Division listed in Appendix A attached or subsequently added thereto by reference as part of this Agreement. Such represented classifications shall hereinafter be referred to as the “Unit”.

  • Union Recognition and Rights The Union agrees that any activities relevant to the administration of the Collective Agreement or other Union activities, which must be conducted during working hours, will be carried out in a professional manner with primary consideration to instructional duties. Where the College feels that such activities are interfering inappropriately with instructional duties, the Parties agree to meet and resolve the matter.
