WORK SCHEDULES; OVERTIME. SECTION A. Employees will normally be scheduled to work one hundred, sixty (160) hours in each twenty-eight (28) days period in accordance with the Director’s scheduling SECTION B. Work over eight (8) hours or ten (10) hours or twelve (12) hours, depending on the normal work day for the employee, shall be paid at one and one half (1 1/2) times. SECTION C. Work schedules will be posted fifteen (15) days in advance or on the next working day following a holiday for weekend. The Director reserves the right to change the schedule when necessary for efficient operations. It is understood that the Director may schedule part-time employees to supplement the bargaining unit, as he deems necessary. SECTION D. All full-time employees will be paid one and one half (1 1/2) times their regular straight time rate for all approved overtime work. This includes call-in time and off-duty court appearance. However, there shall not be any compounding or pyramiding of overtime. SECTION E. The County will attempt to rotate and equalize the assignment of overtime work to bargaining unit employees working with the same classification, providing the employee is available and can perform the available work. The distribution of overtime shall be equalized as nearly as practicable over each year. A new overtime list will then be placed in effect in each succeeding year. For purposes of the implementation of this Article, the first year shall commence on the first day of the calendar month following the effective date of this Agreement. In the event an employee is asked to work overtime and excused from the assignment, said employee shall be charged with the hours paid. When employees who are called into work outside of their regularly scheduled working hours under Article XVI - Call In Time, the County may assign the overtime work to any employee regardless of his/her position on the overtime list. Errors in the assignment of overtime, if called to the attention of the County within five (5) working days, shall be corrected by the assignment of the next available overtime work to the employee who would have originally been assigned the overtime, but for the error and in no event shall the County be liable for any back pay for errors committed in the administration of this Section, unless the County specifically refuses to correct an error which has been brought to its attention within the proper time period. WORK SCHEDULES; OVERTIME. SECTION A. The normal work day consists of eight (8), ten (10), or twelve (12) hours as determined by the Sheriff. The Sheriffshall determine the normal work day (eight (8) or ten (10) or twelve (12) hours) for each classification. The County shall continue to have the right to schedule the hours of work. This Section shall in no way be construed as a guarantee by the County of any amount of work in any period of time or as a limitation on the County's right to schedule work in excess of the normal work day or the normal work week. This could lead to shift alternatives which may differ from that currently established. 11.03 When the Company determines that it is necessary to implement a new shift or make an ongoing change in the current shifts, it will notify the affected employees along with a Shop Xxxxxxx as soon as is practical. Upon request from the Shop Xxxxxxx, the parties will meet as soon as is practical, thereby giving the affected employees the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the shift change. 11.04 The Company shall post the work schedule on the Friday before the start of the following work week. If an employee’s shift is changed with less than thirty-six (36) hours notice for the convenience of the Company, they shall be paid time and one half (1 1/2 X) for the first shift worked. The employee shall provide a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours notice when requesting Management approval for a shift change.

  • Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the work schedules meet federal and state laws.

  • Alternate Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established for overtime-eligible employees by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the alternate work schedules meet federal and state law. When there is a holiday, employees may be required to switch from their alternate work schedules to regular work schedules.

  • Flexible Work Schedules An employee may request a modification of their current work schedule to another schedule. The Employer, or its designees, may approve or deny flexible work schedules and retain the responsibility for determining exemptions from, or terminations of, flexible work schedules which adversely affect the operation of the Minnesota Judicial Branch or the level of service to the public.

  • Work Schedule (A) Where an employee has an established schedule, a change in workdays or shifts will be posted no less than 14 calendar days in advance and will reflect at least a two workweek schedule; however, the state will make a good faith effort to reflect a one month schedule. (B) In the event of a declared emergency the notice requirement of this Section may be void. (C) The state will continue to observe the scheduling structures currently in place at each agency and agrees to bargain any change in the overall practice of how schedules are established.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND SCHEDULING 15.01 The normal hours of work for an employee are not a guarantee of work per day or per week, or a guarantee of days of work per week. The normal hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7-1/2) hours per day, and seventy-five (75) hours in any bi-weekly period. 15.02 The normal daily shift shall consist of seven and one-half (7 ½) consecutive hours, exclusive of a one-half (1/2) hour unpaid meal period. For employees working the night shift, this one-half (1/2) hour will be paid. Employees shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute paid break during each half of the normal daily shift, at a time designated by the Employer. An employee may combine her rest periods in order to have one (1) thirty (30) minute break, providing she has prior approval from the Director of Nursing. When a meal period is interrupted requiring an employee to attend to a work related problem, then the balance of the unused meal period will be taken within two (2) hours of the interruption. If the employee is unable to reschedule such time, she shall be paid time and one-half (1½) her regular straight time hourly rate for all time worked in excess of her normal daily hours, in accordance with Article 16.01. 15.03 Employees required for reporting purposes shall remain at work for a period of up to fifteen (15) minutes which shall be unpaid. Should the reporting time extend beyond fifteen (15) minutes however, the entire period shall be considered overtime for the purposes of payment. 15.04 Requests for change in posted work schedules must be submitted in writing and co-signed by the employee willing to exchange days off or shifts and are subject to the discretion of the Administrator or her designate. In any event, it is understood that such a change initiated by the employee and approved by the Employer shall not result in overtime compensation or payment or any other claims on the Employer by any employee under the terms of this Agreement. 15.05 Where there is a change to Daylight Savings from Standard Time or vice-versa, an employee who is scheduled and works a full shift shall be paid for the actual hours worked at her regular straight time hourly rate. 15.06 There shall be no split shifts. (a) There shall be a minimum of sixteen (16) hours off between changes of shift unless mutually agreed otherwise. (b) An employee shall not be required to work more than seven (7) consecutive days without days off, unless mutually agreed to by the employee and the Employer. (a) Any employee who is working a permanent shift as of December 31, 1996 shall not be transferred to another shift without their consent.   • Regular Work Schedules The regular work schedule for overtime-eligible employees will not be more than forty (40) hours in a workweek, with two (2) consecutive calendar days off and starting and ending times as determined by the requirements of the position and the Employer. The Employer may adjust the regular work schedule with prior notice to the employee.

  • Alternative Work Schedules Employees may request alternative work schedules such as a nine (9) day - 80 hour two week schedule or a four (4) day - 40 hour week schedule. Management will respond to an employee's request within 15 calendar days. Any changes from existing work schedules will be based on the needs of the service as determined by Management. Employees covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act will not be placed on alternate work schedules that mandate the payment of overtime under the Act.

  • Exhibits/Schedules The Exhibits and Schedules to this Agreement are hereby incorporated and made a part hereof and are an integral part of this Agreement. All Exhibits and Schedules annexed hereto or referred to herein are hereby incorporated in and made a part of this Agreement as if set forth in full herein. Any capitalized terms used in any Schedule or Exhibit but not otherwise defined therein shall be defined as set forth in this Agreement.

  • Shift Schedules 1501 Shift schedules for a minimum of a four (4) week period shall be posted at least two (2) weeks in advance of the beginning of the scheduled period. Shifts within the minimum four (4) week period shall not be altered after posting except by mutual agreement between the nurse(s) concerned and the Employer. Requests for specific days off duty shall be submitted in writing at least two (2) weeks prior to posting and granted, if possible in the judgment of the Employer. 1502 Requests for interchanges in posted shifts or a portion thereof shall also be submitted in writing, co-signed by the nurse willing to exchange shifts with the applicant. Where reasonably possible, interchanges in posted shifts are to be completed within the posted shift schedule. It is understood that any change in shifts or days off initiated by the nurses and approved by the Employer shall not result in overtime costs to the Employer. 1503 Night shift shall be considered as the first shift of each calendar day. 1504 Master rotations for each nursing unit shall be planned by the Employer in meaningful consultation with the nurse(s) concerned. The process for meaningful consultation shall include:  Employer proposes a master rotation including the Employer established criteria and provides to Nurses concerned  Nurses are provided reasonable time to submit feedback and/or an alternate master rotation for consideration.  The amended or new master rotation is provided to Nurses for review. Nurses are provided with a reasonable time to submit feedback.  At each step of the consultation process the Union will be provided with the new or revised master rotation to ensure contract compliance.  Employer has the sole discretion to select the new master rotation and provides rationale for the selection. Master Rotations shall, unless otherwise mutually agreed between the nurse(s) concerned and the Employer, observe the conditions listed hereinafter: (a) a minimum of fifteen hours (15) off between assigned shifts. (b) (i) a minimum of forty-seven (47) hours off at one time, or

  • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.
