A OVERTIME. (A) Overtime Pay: Time worked, by members, either in excess of 40 hours in any week is paid at one and one-half times the regular rate of pay. The hours worked in all jobs must be paid by the hour and combined for calculation of overtime. (B) Regular Rate of Pay: Determination of regular rate of pay for the purpose of complying with FLSA requires that certain types of salary increments be included with the base rate when computing the regular rate of hourly pay for overtime purposes. These increments are priority shift differential, and stand-by pay, as applicable.
A OVERTIMESECTION 18.1. Full-time bargaining unit members shall be compensated at straight time for all hours in paid status, except that any hours in excess of thirty-six (36) or forty (40) hours in any week, based upon their assigned work schedule, shall be compensated at a rate of one and one-half (1½) times the employee’s regular rate of pay. Overtime shall be prior approved by the Director, or his designee unless an emergency exists that requires immediate response. SECTION 18.2. The Employer shall equally distribute overtime opportunities among qualified employees with the full-time employees currently having right of first refusal for overtime opportunities. If all full-time and part-time employees refuse, then a full-time employee will be mandated in inverse order by seniority. SECTION 18.3. Employees shall not begin work prior to their normal scheduled starting time nor work beyond their normal scheduled quitting time, unless overtime has been approved by the Employer. SECTION 18.4. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime and/or premium pay. Compensation shall not be paid more than once for the same hours under any provisions of this Article or Agreement. SECTION 18.5. If a bargaining unit member’s days off abut his/her vacation consisting of all regularly scheduled workdays between scheduled days off, they shall not be subject to a mandatory call in. The stretch of time off must begin and end with a Vacation day, and both vacation days must be abutted by days off, in order to be protected from mandatory call-in. Up to three (3) employees of the agency may be off on Vacation or Personal time at the same time, only in cases where one of these three days is a scheduled day off, protected by the above mandatory call-in restriction. An employee may be offered overtime on these abutting days off, but only after the overtime list has been exhausted. Employees turning down overtime on one of these abutting days will not be charged against their balance on the Rolling Overtime Roster (outlined in SOP 215). Overtime accepted on an abutting day off will be charged to their balance on the Rolling Overtime Roster, but any other abutting days will remain protected from mandate. SECTION 18.6. Employees scheduled for stand-by status shall earn a stand-by supplement of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour when being on stand-by any time between 08:00 on Monday through 07:59 on Saturday. A OVERTIME. Effective the first day of the second pay-period after commencement of this Agreement, the Provisions of Article 11-A shall become null, void, and be completely superseded by the provisions of Article 11-B.
A OVERTIME. 1. All time worked in excess of a regularly scheduled shift in one day shall be compensated at a rate of one and one half (11/2) times the regular base salary and longevity pay. Compensation for overtime shall be in either pay or compensatory time at the officer's discretion at a rate on one and one half-hour for one hour worked. All time worked in excess of the regularly scheduled work period shall be compensated at a rate of one and one half (1 1/2) the time worked and is to be computed as above and is to be compensated in pay or compensatory time, at an officer's discretion. 2. The hourly rate for overtime shall be computed by adding the base salary and longevity pay together, dividing by 2080 and multiplying by 1.5. 3. The straight time rate of pay shall be computed by taking the base pay and dividing by 2080.

A OVERTIME. All work performed after completion of the normal work day and all work performed on Saturday shall be paid for at one and one-half (1-1/2) times the regular straight time rate of pay. All work performed after sixteen (16) continuous hours shall be paid for at double the straight time rate of pay. When employees are required to work more than a minimum of eight (8) hours at double the straight time rate of pay, their rate shall continue at double the straight time rate of pay. Work performed on Sundays and the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, shall be paid at double the straight time rate of pay. If the holiday falls on a Sunday, the Monday after shall be paid at double the straight time rate of pay.

Assignment of Overtime: The Chief of Police or his/her designee shall be responsible for determining if police officer attendance is necessary on an open duty shift. To staff an open duty shift, the Chief of Police or his designee shall seek volunteers among the department police officers and select an appropriate number.
A OVERTIME. 12.01- A The employees recognize customer demands will make overtime production work necessary, and they hereby agree to work by mutual consent, such overtime as is required to meet these demands. The employees agree that, for the lifetime of this collective agreement, they will not impose any ban on overtime, and the Employer agrees that he will not take any punitive action against an employee for refusing to work such overtime. 12.02- A Whenever possible, at least twenty-four (24) hours notice of overtime shall be given to employees.

  • Daily Overtime All employees shall be paid the applicable overtime rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Banked Overtime In the event the day in lieu of working the statutory holiday is not provided as stipulated in 8.01.04, this portion may also be banked.

  • Payment of Overtime For the purposes of calculating overtime payments, each day or shift will stand-alone.

  • Mandatory Overtime a. Mandatory Overtime is overtime that an employee is assigned and required to work involuntarily, and will only be required in operational emergencies when sufficient voluntary overtime cannot be secured to maintain the Company’s operation. Mandatory overtime will be limited to the number of employees and hours required to cover the emergency as determined by local management. b. Mandatory overtime will not exceed 4 hours past an employee’s scheduled shift in any 24 hour period. Employees will not be required to work mandatory overtime until the opportunity to work the additional hours has been offered to all qualified employees who are currently at work, and if there are an insufficient number of volunteers, then to otherwise eligible employees whose names remain on the overtime call sign up list. c. Mandatory overtime will be assigned in reverse bid seniority order according to shift time, except that employees already working overtime will be assigned last. d. Every attempt will be made to notify employees on duty of mandatory overtime at least 1 hour in advance. If 1 hour’s advance notice is not provided, the employee will receive 1 ½ hours’ pay as a penalty in addition to the pay earned for any mandatory overtime hours actually worked. e. Employees will not be assigned mandatory overtime during their vacation periods. For this purpose, the vacation period is defined as the period beginning 24 hours after the commencement of the employee’s last regularly scheduled shift before the vacation commenced. An employee may be assigned to mandatory overtime on the last regularly assigned shift prior to a vacation or DAT day, but will be placed at the bottom of the mandatory overtime list. f. If any mandatory overtime causes a rest period violation to occur, every attempt will be made to adjust the employee’s shift to provide the minimum 8 hours rest. g. All mandatory overtime hours will be paid at the applicable rate of pay but not less than the time and one half (1.5X) rate of pay regardless of work status or hours worked. If an employee is required to work mandatory overtime on two or more consecutive days, the minimum payment for all mandatory overtime hours worked will be at the double-time (2X) rate of pay.

  • Scheduled Overtime Scheduled overtime is overtime which is assigned by the end of the employee's last worked shift prior to the overtime assignment and which does not immediately precede or immediately follow a scheduled work shift. Unless notified otherwise in advance of the scheduled starting time of the scheduled overtime assignment, any employee who is scheduled to report for work and who reports as scheduled shall be assigned at least two (2) hours work. If work is not available, the employee may be excused from duty and paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate. If the employee begins work but is excused from duty before completing two (2) hours of work, the employee shall be paid for two (2) hours at the employee's appropriate rate.

  • Overtime Pay ‌ Overtime pay shall be paid to the employee on the next paycheque after the expiration of the pay period in which the overtime was earned except as provided in Article 16.6 (Compensating Time Off) below.
