COMMITTEE STEWARDS. The Employer will recognize a Union Administrative Committee which shall consist of a Chief Xxxxxxx and three (3) stewards at the Nursing Home all selected from the members of the bargaining unit, not more than two (2) of which committee members shall meet with Management at any one time. The Employer shall be advised of the names of members of this Committee and shall be notified of any changes from time to time. All members of the Committee shall be full-time employees of the Employer who have completed their probationary period. Suitable subjects for discussion will include orientation and aggressive residents. The Union acknowledges that the members of the Union Administrative Committee must continue to perform their regular duties, and that so far as possible all activities of the Committee will be carried on outside the regular working hours of the members thereof, unless otherwise mutually arranged. The Nursing Home members of the Negotiating Committee, numbering no more than three, will be paid by the Employer for time used during their normally scheduled working hours in negotiations of this agreement or its successor up to and including all conciliation proceedings but excluding any arbitration proceedings.

The right of stewards to leave their work without loss of pay to investigate or adjust grievances in their own departments is granted on the following conditions: The xxxxxxx shall obtain the permission of his supervisor before leaving his work, and report to his supervisor to advise that he has returned. The time off shall be devoted to the prompt handling of grievances and shall be limited to the time required for attending Grievance Step meetings and any preliminary meetings with the management. Except in the case of a discharged employee, employees having grievances shall not discuss these with the stewards in working hours. The Company reserves the right to limit such time if it deems the time so taken to be excessive.   • Stewards Each UNION shall have the right to designate a working journeyman as a xxxxxxx. The UNION shall notify the EMPLOYER in writing of the identity of their designated xxxxxxx. In addition to his work as an employee, the xxxxxxx shall have the right to receive, but not to solicit, complaints or grievances, and to discuss and assist in the adjustment of the same with the employee's appropriate supervisor. The EMPLOYER will not discriminate against the xxxxxxx in the proper performance of his union duties. The xxxxxxx, in addition to this work as a journeyman, will be permitted to perform during the work hours such of his normal UNION duties as cannot be performed at other times. The UNION agrees that such duties shall be performed as expeditiously as possible and the EMPLOYER agrees to allow the xxxxxxx a reasonable amount of time to perform such duties. The xxxxxxx shall receive his regular craft rate of pay. The xxxxxxx'x duties shall not include any matters relating to any supervisory function over which the EMPLOYER retains sole control. If a xxxxxxx violates any of the rules of this Article, or fails to work or competently perform work assignments, the EMPLOYER shall have the right to take whatever action deemed appropriate, including termination. The working xxxxxxx designated for one EMPLOYER has no authority with regard to the work of another EMPLOYER. If he should become involved in the affairs or disputes of another EMPLOYER, he will be subject to discharge. The EMPLOYER agrees to notify the UNION two (2) working days, confirmed in writing stating the cause, prior to termination of the working xxxxxxx except for a violation of work rules. The xxxxxxx shall be the last EMPLOYEE laid off provided he is qualified to perform the remaining work of the EMPLOYER.

  • Labour Management Committee (a) Where the parties mutually agree that there are matters of mutual concern and interest that would be beneficial if discussed at a Labour Management Committee Meeting during the term of this Agreement, the following shall apply. (b) An equal number of representatives of each party as mutually agreed shall meet at a time and place mutually satisfactory. A request for a meeting hereunder will be made in writing prior to the date proposed and accompanied by an agenda of matters proposed to be discussed, which shall not include matters that are properly the subject of grievance or negotiations for the amendment or renewal of this agreement. Any representative(s) attending such meetings during their regularly scheduled hours of work shall not lose regular earnings as a result of such attendance. (c) It is agreed that the topic of a rehabilitation program for drug and alcohol abuse is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. It is also agreed that the topic of the utilization of full-time and part-time staff is an appropriate topic for the Labour-Management Committee. The committee shall have access to work schedules and job postings upon request. (d) It is understood that joint meetings with other Labour-Management Committees in the Hospital may be scheduled concerning issues of mutual interest if satisfactory to all concerned. (e) Where two or more agreements exist between a Hospital and CUPE the Committee may be a joint one representing employees under both agreements, unless otherwise agreed.

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally.

  • Union/Management Committee There shall be a union/management committee comprised of four (4) employee representatives appointed by the Union and four (4) employer representatives. The Committee's purpose is to provide and promote effective and meaningful communication of information and ideas and to make joint recommendations on matters of concern. Matters that are properly the subject of an individual grievance will not be discussed at this committee. The Committee will meet quarterly, unless agreed otherwise, at a time and place mutually agreed to provided there is business for their joint consideration. The parties will exchange agenda items at least one (1) week prior to the meeting. The parties further agree the Committee may meet at any time its members mutually agree a meeting should be held. The duties of the Chairperson will be shared by the parties. Copies of the minutes shall be provided to Committee members. The employer agrees to pay for time spent during regular working hours for representatives of the union attending such meetings. The parties may utilize video or teleconferencing services for the purposes of committee members attending committee meetings, where appropriate and available. Neither party can unreasonably deny an initiative to utilize video or teleconferencing services.

  • LIAISON COMMITTEE 8.1 The Law Society shall establish a committee to include, without limitation, representatives from Qualifying Insurers, the Law Society, and the ARP Manager (the Liaison Committee). 8.2 The purpose of the Liaison Committee shall include: 8.2.1 reviewing the arrangements relating to the provision of compulsory professional indemnity insurance to members of the solicitors’ profession generally; and 8.2.2 considering proposed amendments to such arrangements, including proposed variations to the Rules, the Minimum Terms or the standard form Qualifying Insurer’s Agreement. 8.3 The terms of reference relating to the Liaison Committee shall be as determined by the Law Society from time to time.
