Examination Procedures. (a) The FHCF will send an examination notice letter to the Company providing the commencement date of the examination, the site of the examination, any accommodation requirements of the examiner, and the reports and data which must be assembled by the Company and forwarded to the FHCF. The Company shall be prepared to choose one location in which to be examined, unless otherwise specified by the SBA.
(b) The reports and data are required to be forwarded to the FHCF as set forth in an examination notice letter. The information is then forwarded to the examiner. If the FHCF receives accurate and complete records as requested, the examiner will contact the Company to inform the Company as to what policies or other documentation will be required once the examiner is on site. Any records not required to be provided to the examiner in advance shall be made available at the time the examiner arrives on site. Any records to support reported exposure or Losses which are provided after the examiner has left the work-site will, at the SBA’s discretion, result in an additional examination of exposure and/or Loss records or an extension or expansion of the examination already in progress. All costs associated with such additional examination or with the extension or expansion of the original examination shall be borne by the Company.
(c) At the conclusion of the examiner’s work and the management review of the examiner’s report, findings, recommendations, and work papers, the FHCF will forward an examination report to the Company.
(d) Within 30 days from the date of the letter accompanying the examination report, the Company must provide a written response to the FHCF. The response must indicate whether the Company agrees with the findings and recommendations of the examination report. If the Company disagrees with any examination findings or recommendations, the reason for the disagreement must be outlined in the response and the Company must provide supporting information to support its objection. An extension of 30 days may be granted if the Company can show that the need for additional time is due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Company. No response is required if the examination report does not include any findings or recommendations.
(e) If the Company accepts the examination findings and recommendations, and there is no recommendation for additional information, the examination report will be finalized and the exam file closed.

Examination Procedures. 1. Xxxxx County Human Resources shall have full responsibility for the design, development, administration, and security of entry level and promotional examinations.
2. For all classifications (Except for entry level positions of Fire Fighter I, Fire Fighter/Paramedic I, Fire Inspector, Fire Inspector Trainee, and Fire Training Instructor) in Appendix A and for Battalion Chief, the County shall give at least ninety (90) days notice of the study material to be used for promotional examinations, and at least thirty (30) days notice of the date, time, and place of these promotional examinations. Once a thirty (30) day notice has been posted of date, time, place and there are two (2) or more candidates the written examination shall be administered as posted.
3. For the positions of Fire Engineer and Fire Captain, the County shall automatically give a promotional exam. The County shall establish an Officer’s Training Academy, and the County shall maintain an Engineer’s Academy, for employees preparing for these examinations. The County agrees to provide on-going training for Engineers and Captains. Promotional examinations shall not use Paramedic certification as a requirement for testing for Engineer or Captain, nor be used as preference for testing for Engineer or Captain. Fire Captain shall be tested during the period from March 1st to April 30th, in every even numbered year. The Fire Engineer exam shall be given during the period from March 1st to April 30th, in every odd numbered year. Employees must be eligible to test by December 31st of the year prior to the appropriate exam. The eligibility list developed for the Captain and Engineer examination shall be effective for two (2) fiscal years. When only two (2) names remain on a promotional list and the County anticipates that the list shall be exhausted prior to its expiration, the County may give another promotional examination. This examination shall follow all the time lines identified in both Sections 2 and 3, and create a new list that shall remain in effect until the end of the year that the original list would have expired. (B) Examinations may include written, practical, assessment center, oral board, or any combination of the aforementioned at the sole discretion of the Fire Department.
(C) The Fire Department will determine the weights (percentages) to be used for each phase, and will meet and confer with the Union over any changes. The minimum passing score shall be seventy percent (70%) for each phase or section of the testing process. A candidate will not proceed in the testing process if he/she does not achieve at least a seventy percent (70%) on the written, practical, assessment center or oral board. Each section will be weighted with a percentage to give an overall score. The overall score shall be seventy percent (70%) to be considered passing.
(D) The Fire Department will provide employee development opportunities for all personnel interested in testing for promotion to the rank of Engineer, Captain, and Battalion Chief within the Fire Department. The following will be the dates for development and testing for the positions of Engineer, Captain, and Battalion Chief:
(1) The Fire Department will provide Engineer Development School (EDS) between the months of January-April in even years. Testing for Engineer will be conducted during the month of September in even years.
