Interview Leave. Current practices regarding the granting of administrative leave for interviews shall be maintained. In addition, Employees shall be provided with a reasonable opportunity to flex their work schedule within the work week without charge to leave to permit them to participate in interviews for a job with the State.

When a designated holiday falls on the employee’s RDO, the Department or Division will treat the employee’s workday immediately before or immediately after as the holiday. An employee may request an alternate day off as their holiday if the requested day off falls within the same pay period as the holiday. The Department or Division may approve or disapprove the request. The holiday for graveyard shift employees whose work schedule begins on one calendar day and ends on the next will be determined by the Department or Division. The holiday will start either at the beginning of the scheduled graveyard shift that begins on the calendar day designated as the holiday, or the beginning of the shift that precedes the calendar day designated as the holiday. The holiday for graveyard shift employees will be the same for all graveyard shift employees in a facility. Holiday Compensation Rules‌ Part-time employees who begin employment before and remain employed after the designated holiday will be compensated in cash or Compensatory Time for the holiday in an amount proportionate to the time they were in pay status during the month prior to the holiday. Interview Leave time approved and taken to interview with a State Agency that exceeds the two (2) hours of Agency paid time must be recorded as accrued leave, or managed through approved leave without pay or flex time within the same workweek. Use of Interview Leave or accrued leave for this purpose shall not result in overtime.
