Job Related Training. 1. The City will support job-related training, education and certification to enhance the unit employees’ ability to perform his/her job, and will encourage unit employees to seek those opportunities.
2. Respective departments will budget funds for training and education courses which may include certification costs.
3. Commercial Driver's licenses are the personal and financial responsibility of the individual operator as a condition of employment.
4. The City may provide time and/or training to assist unit employees in obtaining a commercial license if their job duties change and such license becomes a requirement.
Job Related Training. 19-1 At the request of an employee and with the approval of the employee’s supervisor, an employee may attend appropriate job related seminars, course work, or participate in other continuing education directly related to that employee’s current or future job assignments. The seminars and course work may include, but are not limited to, training provided for by equipment manufacturers, education in work methods and materials, and education to improve work related knowledge and abilities.
19-2 In the event that such education is required, the University shall pay the cost of tuition, course fees and books required, except for and excluding any fees required for membership in any professional or trade organization or association. Employees who participate in such approved or required training shall not suffer a loss of time or pay. In addition, employees who receive such training or education may be required to train or assist in the training of others.
Job Related Training. Any job related training opportunities intended to increase skills in current assignments will be offered first to the senior qualified volunteer needing the training within the occupational group, level and tour where the need for the skill exists. Job Related Training. 26.01 The University will provide on-the-job training to enable employees to meet and maintain the requirements of their positions.
26.02 Where employees take a course or participate in some other form of job-related training or development activity (orientation, conference, seminar, workshop) at the written request of the department head, such employees will be granted the necessary time off with pay and will be reimbursed by the University for the required fees and other approved costs. When employees' participation occurs on a normal day off work they will be granted equivalent time off on a straight time basis.
26.03 Where a regular employee requests job-related training or development and participation is approved by the department head, the employee will be reimbursed for all or some agreed portion of the course fees or similar costs upon successful completion. In such cases the provisions of Article 18.08 will not apply. In addition, at the discretion of the department head, the employee may be granted time off with pay to take such courses or training provided such time off does not create bona fide operational difficulties. In the event that the department head is unable to approve leave with pay, the employee will be permitted to make up the time required on any basis mutually agreeable to the employee and the department head.
Job Related Training. The employee agrees some on job and development training may be undertaken in the employee’s own time on a minimum wage basis, at which the rate will be paid in accordance with The Fair Pay Commission minimum rate. All Compliance Training requirements are to be undertaken in the employee’s own time and a minimal training cost may be passed on to the employee for accredited training. Paid higher education training may be completed in line with the company’s corporate policy.
Job Related Training. If the Company grants a leave of absence pursuant to Article 9.02 to an employee to attend a job-related training course or seminar approved in advance by the Company in writing, or if the employee enrolls in a job-related training course which does not require a leave of absence but is approved in advance by the Company in writing, the Company will do the following if the employee successfully completes the course:
(a) reimburse the cost of tuition, and
(b) reimburse the employee for the cost of course books, provided the employee furnishes the Company with receipts. Effective April 23, 2006 the total reimbursement for each course and materials shall not exceed three hundred and twenty-five dollars ($325.00). Effective March 12, 2007 this amount will increase to three hundred and fifty dollars ($350.00).
Job Related Training. Each full-time and regularly scheduled part-time Classified Personnel member may attend job- related workshops and seminars with the prior approval of their immediate supervisor. Employees will receive pay for travel time to and from seminars and workshops. If an employee is traveling on a weekend to a work-related workshop or seminar, the employee will only be paid for the time it takes them to get there and to return to the college or their home, whichever is closer. Each full-time and regularly scheduled part-time Classified Personnel member, with mutual agreement between the employee and the supervisor, may attend job related college course/courses during normal work hours, without loss of pay, and at no cost to the employee.
Job Related Training. The district shall provide training to CSPA’s, Building Nurses, and Paraprofessionals to enhance job performance and to improve or develop skills related to the employee’s job function. The district will provide at least two training opportunities for each member of this bargaining group per year.
