Jury Duty or Court Witness. The Employer shall pay to an employee who is required to serve as a juror or court witness the difference between his normal earnings and the payment he received for jury duty or as a court witness, conditional upon the employee presenting to the Employer proof of service and of the amount of payment received by him.

Jury Duty or Court Witness. 14.01 The Company will pay an employee who is required for jury service or as a Witness subpoenaed by the courts, for each day of service, the difference between the regular day shift straight-time hourly rate for the number of hours the employee normally works and the payment received for Jury or Court Witness Service. The Employee will present proof of such service and the amount of pay received. 14.02 When an employee is excused from Jury Duty or Court Witness Service for one-half (½) day or more the employee must return to the Plant and complete the regular shift.
Jury Duty or Court Witness. (a) An Employee, who is required to serve as a juror or as a witness in any court, shall be paid their regular rate of pay for their normally scheduled working hours for any day or part of a day that they are absent because of such service. Jury duty pay and Witness fees less reasonable expenses incurred by the Employee as a result of serving as a juror or as a Witness, shall be paid to the Treasurer of the Employer on receipt thereof by such Employee. (b) An Employee who is required to serve as a witness in any court or quasi-judicial body for a matter arising from their duties with the Employer, on a non-scheduled working day, may request that their schedule of days off be altered to allow attendance to be scheduled on a regular working day. It is specifically understood that the granting of this request is dependent upon operational requirements and, in any event, is not to result in any additional cost to the Employer. (c) An Employee may elect to use vacation days or lieu days in order to attend to jury or court duty. In such case, the Employee will retain all fees paid to them by the court.

Jury Duty or Court Witness. 8.01 Where an employee is absent by reason of a summons to serve as a juror or a subpoena as a witness, the employee may at his/her option: (a) treat the absence as leave without pay and retain any fee received as a witness or juror; (b) deduct the period of absence from accumulated vacation credits or compensating leave credits and retain any fee received as a witness or juror; or (c) treat the absence as leave with pay and pay to the Employer any fee received as a witness or juror.
Jury Duty or Court Witness. The Board shall pay an employee who is required to serve as a juror or who is subpoenaed as a witness in any court proceedings or who is accompanying a minor dependent child, his regular wages for those days or hours lost so long as the employee is not involved in personal litigation. In return the employee shall remit to the Board such payments as may be received by him for such services. The employee is not required to return to work and complete his/her normal shift if he/she was requested to attend court past 1:00 p.m. for day shift or if the employee attended court in excess of five (5) hours for evening shift.

A copy of the court order must be attached to the Request for Leave form. 12.12.2 A teacher subpoenaed as a witness for a situation related to his/her employment as a School Board employee shall be considered on temporary duty elsewhere and shall receive pay for his/her time while answering the subpoena. A copy of the subpoena must be attached to the Request for Leave form.
