Scheduling of PTO. Except for unexpected illness or emergencies, PTO should be scheduled in advance. The following provisions will apply for the scheduling of PTO when there are multiple requests for the same time period (subject to the rotation of holidays set forth in Article 7):
Scheduling of PTO. Requests submitted three (3) or more months in advance of the schedule being created, shall be approved subject to other previously approved PTO requests, with exception for the holiday season (as defined in section 9.4.2) in which case PTO requests will be approved based upon the method below.
Scheduling of PTO. During the probationary period, an employee is not eligible to receive compensation from their PTO account. Upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period, an employee shall be eligible to take any PTO which has accrued. Everyone is encouraged to save several days each year for emergencies. Employees cannot request PTO not yet accrued. All PTO (except absences due to illness or emergency) must be scheduled in advance and approved by Employer supervision. A Leave Request Form should be completed and approved according to your departmental cut-off dates for schedule planning. The Employer shall have the right to schedule and approve or disapprove PTO for the benefit of patient care, operations and workload requirements of the Employer. Patient care needs will take precedence over the individual's request unless a Registered Nurse receives advanced written approval of a request made at least 60 days prior to a specific requested vacation date. With approval of the Director of Nursing Services, PTO may be taken in increments of less than the employee's regular workday. PTO may not be used in advance of being earned and may be cashed out in accordance with Employer policy. Employees must use their PTO (if accrued) before a request for a day off without pay will be considered by the Employer, and the Employer retains the sole discretion to approve or disapprove of any such request.
Scheduling of PTO. The Hospital and CIR recognize that the operational requirements of the hospital and training program standards are such that Residents are required to be available for duty on a 7-day per week, 24-hour per day basis. It is acknowledged that scheduling is a function of these requirements and is structured on the basis of equal blocks of calendar days rather than on the basis of a conventional 5-day, 40-hour work week. In recognition of this, paid leave time or Paid Time Off (PTO) is defined in terms of calendar days and is awarded in increments consistent with scheduling requirements rather than on the basis of work days as is the case with other Hospital employees.
Scheduling of PTO. 1. Should Amtrak establish a self-service interface for PTO requests and usage, employees will use such to request Planned Absences and will be responsible to ensure that such Planned Absence is approved in the system prior to that date.
Scheduling of PTO is best resolved by unit-based decisions, where the affected nurses are involved in creative and flexible approaches to such scheduling. Each unit will develop guidelines that promote the ability of the nurses on that unit to preschedule PTO.
Scheduling of PTO. Except for unexpected illness or emergencies, PTO 22 should be scheduled in advance. Nurses requesting use of PTO shall submit the 23 request electronically via Kronos. Each unit shall maintain a vacation calendar 24 accessible to all unit nurses at all times. The vacation calendar shall be kept at the 25 nurses’ station. Nurses are encouraged to write their PTO requests in the vacation 26 calendar to assist other nurses in selecting dates that do not conflict with other 27 requests.
Scheduling of PTO. 12.6.1 Except for emergencies, bereavement and PTO for unanticipated illness as described in Article 15.1 within this Agreement, requests for PTO for full or partial day absences must be made forty-eight (48) hours in advance and require prior Supervisor approval. The minimum increment of time that may be used for PTO is fifteen (15) minutes.
Scheduling of PTO. At any time after the successful completion of six (6) months of employment, regular permanent employees (any employee hired from a Port posting) may request and use PTO of up to the number of hours accrued at the time of the desired PTO date, subject to the approval of the Department Head. Seniority shall be considered in accordance with departmental procedures when scheduling PTO. Special consideration may be given for extenuating circumstances, in management’s discretion. In addition, management will balance the number of employees needed for operations with the number of employees requesting PTO at a given time. The following procedure shall apply for PTO Bidding: • Employees shall have an opportunity to bid for the following year’s PTO sometime during the last three (3) months of the preceding year. • When bidding during this time, employees shall bid during the first round of bidding one block of five (5) or ten (10) consecutive working days of PTO time. • After the first round of bidding, employees will be allowed to bid daily vacation day(s) based on the employee’s seniority up to five (5) days each round. • Employees shall be limited to one (1) “premium” PTO week per round of bidding. A “premium week is any calendar week (Sunday – Saturday) that includes a holiday as defined in Article 14 of this Agreement. • When employees bid daily vacation day(s) employees will only be allowed one (1) vacation day in conjunction with a holiday per bid round. Employees who have been granted requested time off are expected to take the requested time off; however, employees may request cancellation of approved PTO with five (5) work days advance notice. Requests for cancellation with less than five (5) work days notice shall be granted at management’s discretion. Other requests for approval of PTO shall be made to the Department Head on a PTO request form five (5) days or more in advance; more notice may be required by the Department Head when necessary to provide for proper scheduling of personnel. The Department Head or Management Designee will respond to the PTO request within two (2) working days after receipt of the request. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that the request has been received by the Department Head or Management Designee.
Scheduling of PTO. At any time after the successful completion of the six (6) month probationary period, eligible employees may request and use PTO of up to the number of days accrued (explained in detail below) at the time of the desired PTO date, subject to the approval of management or his/her designee. Employees will endeavor to give thirty (30) days’ notice to the Manager of a requested PTO leave and in no case, barring an emergency or by mutual consent, shall there be less than five (5) days’ notice. The Manager will endeavor to approve an employee's vacation request within two (2) weeks of notice by the employee. Payment for PTO may be made only to the extent of unused PTO accruals at the time of the leave.
