SPECIAL TIME OFF. 9.1 Additional Time Off at Christmas and New Year's Holidays When Christmas falls on Friday and Boxing Day on Saturday, an additional half holiday will be granted employees on the preceding Thursday. Those regular part-time employees whose regular scheduled day of work falls on the holidays referenced above shall be granted the time off and compensated at a rate equal to their normal daily earnings.

Staff members who are required to work when other staff members are so excused shall be paid their regular rate of pay and in addition shall be granted, at the discretion of the President, either compensatory time off or cash payment for this service at the rate of time and one-half for each hour worked.

SPECIAL TIME OFF. 2001 Employees with Indigenous/First Nations Status, as defined by National relevant federal statutes, will be eligible for and will not be Indigenous unreasonably denied an unpaid day when this day falls on a regularly Peoples Day scheduled work day.
