TEACHER’S WORK YEAR. The number of student contact days is cumulative, i.e., several partial days would aggregate to the required number of full student contact days. Effective starting with the 2008-09 school year, special education teachers may have up to one more day, for a total of up to ten (10), additional assignment days, up to one of which will be a staff development day which shall occur within three (3) days immediately preceding the additional assignment days scheduled prior to the beginning of the school year. The teacher work year will consist of 181 teaching days, one orientation day prior to the start of school, up to 3 in-service days, and one non-student day for the purpose of curriculum work. One in-service day will be eliminated if four or more emergency days are used by April 5th.

TEACHER’S WORK YEAR. 14.1 For the 2023-2024 school year only, the Parties agree to add one (1) professional development day to the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year for a total of 185 work days in that school year; specific date to be on either August 10 or 11, 2023 as determined and agreed by the Parties. Thereafter, the work year shall return to 184 days. Effective July 1, 2016, the work year for any certificated employee during the term of this Agreement shall be one `hundred eighty-four (184) days, to be apportioned as follows: one hundred eighty (180) student contact days; one (1) day before the first day of school for classroom preparation and/or professional development and one (1) day after school resumes from winter break for classroom preparation and/or professional development. A third day shall be required for new teachers prior to pre-school staff development. The Association shall be consulted within the framework of contract negotiations in the formation of the yearly calendar prior to its adoption by the Board. 14.2 The student minutes per year will be no less than that mandated by applicable state law and/or federal law. 14.3 Commencing in the 2024-2025 school year only, the District proposes to add one (1) professional development day and one (1) optional teacher preparation day (buyback day) to the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year for a total of 186 workdays in that school year; specific dates to be determined and agreed to by the Parties through the Calendar Committee.
TEACHER’S WORK YEAR. The calendar for the school year(s) covered by this Agreement is set forth in Appendix G which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. The District shall set the employee work calendar each year prior to June 1. The employee work year will be 180 days, plus any state- funded Learning Improvement Days. Any state-funded and required Learning Improvement Days are mandatory attendance days. If the calendar has to be altered due to inclement weather or other emergencies, the first day(s) would be made up on any designated snow day(s), the next five (5) days would be made up at the end of the school year. If more days are needed to be made up, they would be made up at either the beginning or the end of spring vacation. (Appendix G attached) The graduation date will be set by the Board. The District will provide for an orientation day to assist the new employee in becoming acquainted with Xxxxxx School District. Orientation day will be the week day two days preceding the opening day of school. Attendance on orientation day will be voluntary. New employees will receive no salary or other reimbursement for attending orientation day.

TEACHER’S WORK YEAR. 6.1.1 The Board agrees to hire only those Teachers who are certifiable by the New Hampshire State Department of Education for every regular teaching assignment, except this provision shall not apply in the instance where, in the opinion of the Superintendent, availability of personnel is critical and appropriate waiver is granted.
TEACHER’S WORK YEAR. A. Effective July 1, 2000, the teacher work year shall be increased one day resulting in a 185- day teacher work year. The School Calendar shall be constructed by the Board so as to provide one hundred eighty-three (183) days of instruction, including therein provision for emergency closing of schools because of inclement weather. However, it is expressly understood that in no event shall the school year consist of less than one hundred eighty (180) days. The last instructional day shall be a half day of student contact. Teachers shall be permitted to leave when they have completed their professional obligations. In addition, teachers may be required to report for duty one day prior to the opening of school. Non- tenured teachers shall attend two workshops, each of a two-day duration, before acquiring tenure. These workshops may be scheduled prior to the start of the teacher work year or after the end of the teacher work year.
TEACHER’S WORK YEAR. A. In-School Work Year 1. Ten (10) month personnel. The in-school year for teachers employed on a ten (10) month basis (other than new personnel who may be required to attend an additional two [2] half days of orientation) shall not exceed one hundred and eighty-five (185) with a maximum of one hundred and eighty-two (182) days allocated to pupil contact time. In the event of school closings, pupil contact days will be reduced until the state minimum of one hundred and eighty (180) days is reached. At such time as it becomes impossible to attain one hundred and eighty (180) pupil days of school, the emergency days will be inserted into the calendar at the Board’s discretion.
