Training - General. 11.1 The Company shall have training courses which will be sufficient to allow current employees and/or candidates opportunities to upgrade their knowledge and skills when it is known upgrade training will be required or there is a need to qualify additional employees. The location at which training courses are to be conducted will be determined by the Company. The appropriate General Chairman will on an on-going basis, be provided with a copy of the training course schedule and course outline.
(a) Training consists of the following:
(a) Skills Assessment and Upgrade Training: For employees currently qualified as Traffic Coordinator. The Skills Assessment will determine the training requirements that are necessary to upgrade the employee’s skills.
Training - General. Each employee shall receive a minimum of at least twenty-four (24)-hours of relevant, College- authorized training annually in order to perform their current and potential duties and responsibilities and to improve themselves in a general way. This training shall not include College mandatory training – for example: training on evaluations, sexual misconduct, nor shall it include training for recertification where such recertification is routine and does not increase or enhance skills. At the end of each training, the supervisor shall document the training in writing, the subject and substance of the training, the number of hours of the training and proof of attendance through a sign-in sheet at each session. The Employee(s) shall be given a copy of the supervisor’s documentation, upon request. The College shall pay for all required yearly in-service training and any re-certifications and refresher courses. Employees shall be permitted to use State vehicles as dictated by the College’s policy on travel and use of State vehicles. All employees shall be treated equally in the application of this policy. Training must be effective and meaningful; the effectiveness of the training process shall be assessed by the Employee's supervisor who shall consider ability to demonstrate what was/should have been learned. Training opportunities shall be a discussion item during the evaluation period in order for a supervisor and employee to attempt to plan appropriate training opportunities. For Officers, training shall include but not be limited to: areas of training may include techniques for defusing tense situations, multicultural sensitivity, self-defense, use of pepper spray, handcuffs, asp batons, interviewing, report writing, etc. In the first year of employment public safety officers shall receive training on at least the following subjects: techniques for defusing tense situations, multicultural sensitivity, self-defense, use of pepper spray, handcuffs, asp batons, interviewing and report writing. Repetitive practice sessions for defense techniques and handcuffs shall be offered at least three (3) times during the year, and these sessions will be conducted under the guidance of a certified instructor. For Officers, the College shall pay for all required yearly in-service training and any re- certifications and refresher courses. Training - General. Where The Company rosters or directs an employee to undertake training or where The Company agrees to an employees request for training, and that training is directly relevant to the employee’s duties and is provided by an external training provider / qualified in-house trainer, all time spent at such training shall be paid at ordinary time rates of pay. By way of clarification, voluntary attendance at training provided by the Company “in-house” shall be unpaid. Provided that this clause shall only apply to classroom training courses and shall not apply to “on the job training”.
Training - General. A pilot shall be given all necessary briefing before undertaking simulator, aircraft training or proficiency checks. This briefing shall include the projected simulator lesson segment!; and shall be in the simulator session. All simulator training and checking conducted will adhere to the Transport Canada approved scripted lesson plan. A pilot shall be given a copy of the Instructor’s or Training Pilot’s report on his training. The Company shall to a pilot a of forty-eight hours prior to recurrent training or route checks. During transition training, the required program will be at the discretion of Flight Operations with regard to accomplishing the filling of Permanent Bid Assignments. Any pilot held back an awarded Permanent Bid Assignment due to by the Company will be paid on a one-for-one basis at the higher level effective the date a junior pilot who him was paid in the higher Permanent Assignment. A pilot fails to demonstrate the required proficiency shall be subject to the Mowing: He shall be given additional training in the areas in which, the required proficiency was not demonstrated followed by the appropriate check.
Training - General. 60.1 In recognition of the importance placed on the development of skills and knowledge, the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) shall periodically review all aspects of training and development within the workplace which is covered by this Agreement.
60.2 When reviewing training and development matters, the JCC shall have regard to the following types of issues:
60.2.1 Ensuring that training and development continues to be given a high level of importance.
60.2.2 Monitor current training initiatives to ensure effectiveness and relevance.
60.2.3 Ensure equal access is available for all employees to training.
60.2.4 Where considered necessary by the JCC, introduce relevant training plans.
60.2.5 Identify obstacles to effective training and develop strategies to overcome such obstacles.
60.2.6 Review task descriptions to ensure that they reflect current operational requirements.
60.3 Assessment of Training - where employees receive training in relation to any tasks or functions that are specified in the classification structure of this Agreement, such training shall be assessed by a duly qualified Certificate IV Trainer & Assessor. It is agreed between the parties that whilst ever the training system outlined in this clause remains in place, it will be considered as being a suitable alternative system to the Transport Industry "Blue Card" training process.
60.4 Designated Trainers- the following shall apply with regards to designated trainers:
60.4.1 At least 1 employee shall be appointed as the designated trainer and assessor.
60.4.2 All designated trainers and assessors must be Certificate IV - Trainer & Assessment qualified.

Training - General. A. Conduct training on-site unless otherwise indicated.
B. Owner will provide classroom and seating at no cost to Contractor.
C. Provide training in minimum two hour segments.
D. Training schedule will be subject to availability of Owner's personnel to be trained; re-schedule training sessions as required by Owner; once schedule has been approved by Owner failure to conduct sessions according to schedule will be cause for Owner to charge Contractor for personnel "show-up" time.
E. Review of Facility Policy on Operation and Maintenance Data: During training discuss:
1. The location of the O&M manuals and procedures for use and preservation; backup copies.
2. Typical contents and organization of all manuals, including explanatory information, system narratives, and product specific information.
3. Typical uses of the O&M manuals.
F. Product- and System-Specific Training:
1. Review the applicable O&M manuals.
2. For systems, provide an overview of system operation, design parameters and constraints, and operational strategies.
3. Review instructions for proper operation in all modes, including start-up, shut-down, seasonal changeover and emergency procedures, and for maintenance, including preventative maintenance.
4. Provide hands-on training on all operational modes possible and preventive maintenance.
5. Emphasize safe and proper operating requirements; discuss relevant health and safety issues and emergency procedures.
6. Discuss common troubleshooting problems and solutions.
7. Discuss any peculiarities of equipment installation or operation.
8. Discuss warranties and guarantees, including procedures necessary to avoid voiding coverage.
9. Review recommended tools and spare parts inventory suggestions of manufacturers.
10. Review spare parts and tools required to be furnished by Contractor.
11. Review spare parts suppliers and sources and procurement procedures.
