TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS. The Employer will provide, at its expense, adequate transportation to and/or from the Employee's home within the boundaries of the City of Winnipeg for any Employee whose shift ends and/or begins between 11:31 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS. A. The District reserves the right to issue rules and regulations for the implementation of the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act. Any driver who tests positive for controlled substances or alcohol, or who refuses to submit to testing, or who acquires enough points to lose his/her license, will be subject to immediate discharge without recourse to the grievance procedure.
TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS. Section 1 The Board shall pay tuition for the State Department of Education required Bus Drivers Education Course.
Section 2 Pre-Trip Inspection Each driver is responsible for fueling, for safety check and for the interior cleanliness of the bus. Each driver performing this duty shall receive fifteen (15) minutes pay in addition to the regular driving time.
TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS. 26.1 All field trips shall be assigned to regular bus drivers. Field trips shall be defined as an event that is over twenty-five miles round trip in which bus transportation is provided to nine (9) or more students or to an outside group that has requested the use of County Board buses. Such assignments shall be made using a rotating list of drivers based on seniority. No field trip shall interfere with a bus driver’s regular route.
26.2 If a field trip is postponed and rescheduled prior to the day of the field trip it will first be offered to the driver who originally accepted the trip. If that driver chooses to forego the rescheduled trip, it will be bid as if it were a new trip. If a field trip is canceled the day of the trip after the driver has reported to work at the requested time of that trip, the driver will be paid time and a half for the time worked. Regular shift or time worked immediately before or after the designated field trip time shall not be eligible for time and a half pay.
26.3 Field trips rate of pay shall be at the regular rate of pay of the driver that is on the rotation schedule portal to portal. Duties of the bus driver shall be specified by the Director of Transportation prior to the trip. Drivers shall be paid for a minimum of three (3) hours per trip. Drivers will not be paid for sleep time on overnight trips or time away from bus unengaged.
26.4 Absent extenuating circumstances, all bus routes will be timed within four (4) weeks after first day of preschool for the school year. Bus routes may be retimed if routes are not fully established or if there is a substantial change during the school year.
26.5 As a general provision, bus drivers shall receive one (1) hour’s pay per normal working day to complete the following:
A. Daily pre-trip inspection.
B. Fueling bus, warm-up, de-icing, sweep-out, time involved due to breakdowns, accidents, traffic delays, road conditions (snow, ice floods, fog, and high water, etc.). Any delay causing a driver to work more than the one (1) additional hour per day will be paid their regular hourly rate for the additional time worked unless overtime pay has been earned.
C. Routine reports (unusual incidents, behavior, attendance, fuel logs, route sheets, etc.).
D. Detailed cleaning of bus interior.
E. Staff meetings or trainings of less than one half hour (.50) that do not cause the driver’s work time to exceed the one (1) additional hour per day. Any time exceeding the one (1) additional hour will...
TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS. 34 Recognizing that personnel in the transportation classification present special shift problems, the 35 parties agree that shifts will be established in the classification in relation to routes and driving times 36 required for fulfilling tasks assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation. TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS. A. Routes are classified as follows: Regular Route - pick-up or take-home of K-12 students attending the regular school program. Single Route - one route driven by one driver. Skills Route - a regular route to the skill center complex. Shuttle Run - a short run to and from buildings when not part of a regular route. Sports Run - trips to drive a team to sports events. Awarded on a per sport per season basis. Extra Run - single posted trip - not included in any of the above with the driver paid on an hourly basis at the “extra trip” rate. Combination Routes - two regular routes combined and run by one driver.
B. Bus Driver Classifications: Regular driver - a driver that is presently assigned a regular, special education, mid- day, or skills route on a regular basis.
C. Bid Process
1. Each year, assignments will always be bid based upon seniority the third Wednesday in August.
2. All routes (regular and skills) will be bid by seniority, starting with the most senior driver given the opportunity to select. All routes to be selected will be listed. The list will contain those regular routes that are to be run in combination. Drivers may select any route providing there is no conflict in schedules and the selection will not cause the driver’s day to exceed eight (8) hours.
3. After the annual bid meeting where drivers select their routes there will be no bumping. If there is a vacancy or if a route is added after the route selection meeting a driver is eligible for that route only for financial advancement based upon seniority. (Example: driver with only a single regular route would be eligible for a combination route, however, if the driver already has a combination route he/she could not move to the open route because the driver would like the route better.) A driver wishing to change from a combination route may be considered for a single route vacancy.
4. All extra runs will be posted as received. If a run is posted as a “Take and Stay” and then later changes to a “Take and Drop”, the driver shall still be compensated as a “Take and Stay” run. The posting will include the date and time posted and will be posted for a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours (two (2) working days). All drivers interested in the posted run are to sign the posting. The extra run will be awarded to the senior driver signed for that run, unless the extra run would put the driver into an overtime situation. TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS. 18.01 The Company will provide transportation for employees on standby as follows: Where in the opinion of the Company an employee is required to use a Company vehicle when called out he shall, where reasonably practical, be permitted to take a Company vehicle to his place of residence for his use in the event of a callout. Where it is not reasonably practical to provide an employee on standby with a Company vehicle, he shall be provided with alternative means of transportation as approved by the Company. If an employee declines to use the transportation provided by the Company and elects to use his personal vehicle for a callout, he shall be compensated for the use of his personal vehicle in accordance with the Company's regulations.
(a) In the event of a temporary transfer of an employee, transportation will be supplied by the Company. If an employee requests to use his personal vehicle for transportation and such request is approved by his supervisor, he will be reimbursed at 32 cents per kilometre for the initial trip and the trip home at the conclusion of the temporary assignment. Such approval shall not unreasonably be withheld. It is understood, however, that, when it is necessary to move Company vehicles, employees may be required to transport Company vehicles rather than utilizing personal vehicles.
(b) Where an employee travels on a day of rest to his temporary headquarters at the request of the Company, pay will be in accordance with Article 28.02 if scheduled work is being performed and in accordance with Article 23.01 if transportation of the employee and his personal tools only is involved. Scheduled work is performed by the driver if:
(i) The Company requires the vehicle to be delivered to the destination.
(ii) The Company requires tools (other than the employee's personal tools), equipment and material to be delivered to the destination. Travel only is involved if:
(i) The Company provides the vehicle (rented or Company-owned) for the convenience of the employee, for the transportation of himself and/or others and their personal tools to the destination.
18.03 When the services of an employee are dispensed with because of completion of work, transportation to his regularly established headquarters shall be furnished and paid for by the Company.
18.04 Employees resigning or dismissed while in the field shall be paid in full for all time worked by them and transportation to current headquarters shall be furnished or paid for by the Company.

TRANSPORTATION PROVISIONS. A. If Walled Lake Schools are closed for “Act of God Days,” but their out-district schools are open, paraeducators will not be required to report to work without loss of pay. If Walled Lake Schools are open, but their out-district schools are closed, paraeducators will be required to report to work. They will be assigned work by the supervisor/designee. If there is no work, they will sit as stand by until their scheduled run/route time ends. No loss of pay. Paraeducators will be paid for all time in excess of those hours that they would have normally worked. If Walled Lake Schools are open, but only a portion of their out-district schools are closed, paraeducators will be required to complete their schedule as determined by their out-district school’s status. The supervisor/designee may fill time in with other assignments. No loss of pay. Paraeducators will be paid for all hours in excess of those they would have normally worked.
B. Meal allowances will be paid for field and athletic trips according to the following:
1. If the trip is three (3) hours to less than eight (8) hours, the meal allowance will be Six ($6.00) Dollars;
2. If the trip is eight (8) hours or more, the meal allowance will be Eleven ($11.00) Dollars;
3. Receipts for meals purchased must be submitted to the Supervisor of Transportation in order for the paraeducator to receive the meal allowance.
C. Should a Paraeducator be improperly bypassed she/he shall be eligible to take next available field trip. There shall be two separate rotation lists; weekday trips and weekend/holiday trips. If a trip is cancelled a paraeducator shall receive next available field trip. Transportation paraeducators will be assigned wheelchair field trips for two (2) or more wheelchairs, including those occurring during regularly scheduled runs. Assignments will be made on a rotating seniority basis according to the field trip roster. A Transportation Paraeducator will be scheduled for all field trips that transport wheelchair children and children requiring medical intervention if the school requests it. A paraeducator refusal of trips posted on the field trip list shall result in that paraeducator being placed back into rotation. Should a paraeducator desire to be added to field trip roster after start of school year he/she may do so by filling out a written request and filing it with Supervisor of Transportation.
