WORK DUTIES AND COMPENSATION. A. The employment schedule of support personnel employees shall be as set forth in Appendix A. B. The basic compensation of the support personnel employee shall be as set forth in Appendix B. C. The following conditions shall apply to all overtime work: 1. Employees covered by this contract, shall receive overtime pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) in a workweek at a rate not less than time and one-half their regular rates of pay. No employee will have their schedule altered to avoid overtime payment. 2. All hours paid (except for vacations and personal business) shall be considered hours worked for purposes of computing overtime. 3. Individuals working in more than one classification or the same classification shall not be allowed to work more than a forty (40) hour total work week unless no other individual(s) in the classification(s) are available. 4. If a custodial/maintenance overtime assignment is declined by available employees in that classification, the Employer shall have the right to assign the overtime to the least senior custodian or a substitute custodian. Custodial/maintenance overtime assignments will be offered on a rotating basis in order of seniority. For example, on the first occasion the District requires overtime they will first ask the person with the most seniority and then move him/her to the bottom of the list. On the second occasion they will first ask the second most senior person and then move him/her to the bottom of the list and continue in this manner through the seniority list. If the first person asked refuses, then the Employer shall ask the next person on the list. Persons who refuse an assignment will be moved to the bottom of the list. 5. Overtime hours over forty (40) hours in one (1) week, will be compensated at one and one-half (1-1/2) time. Holiday and Sunday pay shall be at double time (2 times) the regular rate. 6. Overtime shall be limited to four (4) hours overtime when the overtime assignment is in addition to an eight (8)-hour shift, except in case of emergency. The employer shall ask bargaining unit members to fill overtime assignments as per section 4 above. D. The fringe benefits of the support personnel employees are set forth in Appendix C.

There shall be no deviation from said compensation rates during the life of this Agreement. C. The following conditions shall apply to all overtime work. 1. Time and one-half shall be paid for all time worked in excess forty (40) hours in one (1) work week. 2. All hours worked or not worked but paid for on holidays shall be used for computing overtime. D. The fringe benefits of each employee shall be set forth in Schedule “C”. E. Employees shall not normally be left in charge of students without teacher supervision. If a teacher is out of the classroom for a period of time, there would still be a teacher assigned within the building to assist if needs arise. Teachers will not be absent from the classroom for more than a one hour period. F. The Director of Special Education may approve a duty or duty-free lunch period at each facility/location for employees of special education covered under this agreement. G. Program Assistants are expected to attend all meetings assigned by supervisor and remain for entire time unless excused by the immediate supervisor. Additional time spent over the regular work day will be adjusted per agreement with supervisor.

A regular route is generally defined as the a.m. and p.m. portion of a run to or from school. A route may also include a trip to or from Xxxxxxxx Area Schools, TBAISD Center Based programs, St. Mary’s of Hannah, the TBAISD Career Tech Center, and / or other student based placements. 2. A run shall be defined as a regularly scheduled trip from one building or program to another building or program. C. Extra trips will be computed portal to portal, except for overnight trips with an additional twenty (20) minutes for pre-check and cleaning on runs that do not immediately precede or follow a regular run. Overnight trips will include eight (8) hours of unpaid sleeping unless the driver is required to drive before the eight (8) hour sleeping period is over. Drivers will be paid on the following schedule: Hourly Rate Minimum 2007-08 $ 13.08 $ 32.00 2008-09 $ 13.21 $ 32.00 2009-10 $ 13.34 $ 32.00 D. Extra trips will be posted and assigned by rotation to regular drivers. If a regular driver does not sign up for a trip, a substitute driver may be used, or it will be assigned to the least seniored driver on a rotating basis. Regular drivers with only one run per day and substitute drivers will not be assigned to extra trips unless drivers as described in the preceding sentence are unable, choose not to take the extra trip, or if such regular driver who might otherwise take the trip would have worked more than forty hours in a week. E. If a driver shows up for an extra trip and the extra trip is canceled, he/she shall receive the above-mentioned minimum rate if he/she is unable to take his/her regular run on that day. In order to help minimize the use of substitute drivers, drivers are expected to check in with the Transportation Supervisor on days when weather threatens whether or not an extra trip will be taken. F. All routes and runs will be bid, based upon seniority, five to ten days prior to the beginning of the school year. All routes and runs will be paid actual driving time plus fifteen

Compensatory time may be given if mutually agreeable to the Employer and the employee. C. If an employee is requested to use a personal vehicle for school business, the employee shall receive the cents per mile reimbursement rate in accordance with the C.C.I.S.D. Teacher Agreement. No school children shall be transported in personal vehicles as part of their regular assignment. D. An “on call” list of employees who will serve as substitute bus aides will be estab- lished the week before each new school year begins. The purpose of the list is to fill bus aide assignments when regularly assigned bus aides are absent. Two in- dividuals will be on the list for each specific week, with one as primary substitute and the other as a backup if the first is unavailable. Employees who were originally hired by the District as bus aides will automatically be placed on the list. Those who were not originally hired as bus aides may volunteer to be on the list, but must state their intent two weeks before school starts. Once all possible “on call” em- ployees have been determined, a master schedule for the entire school year will be created on a rotating basis, with assignments to be distributed as evenly as pos- sible between those on the list. In an extreme emergency when more than two regularly scheduled bus aides are absent and/or scheduled “on call” substitutes are unavailable to fill the assignments, the District reserves the right to assign any individuals who were originally hired as bus aides as needed.

For calculating the number of hours in a week, a “week” is defined as Sunday 12:01 A.M. through Saturday midnight. When calculating the forty (40) hours, sick or other compensated time shall not be included. C. The wages or salary shall be paid biweekly on such calendar dates as are established by the Employer. D. The increment or step shall be an increase in salary applicable on July 1st of each year, with ALL employees beginning this change on July 1, 2011. This shall in no way affect seniority nor make the employees hire date July 1st and the Employer will not use July 1st as the date for calculating seniority if it is not the actual start date of employment. E. The Employer will pay the cost of registration in workshops, seminars, or classes required or authorized by supervision. Employees will be paid at their regular hourly rate for the time spent in an administrative-authorized class, seminar or training session. F. Educational reimbursement is available for programs approved by the principal. Preapproval is necessary. G. Testing fees for becoming a certified paraprofessional may be reimbursed a reasonable number of times (2-3 attempts).
