Employee Education. (A) At the discretion of the Agency Head or designee, the state may allow employees to attend short courses, institutes, and workshops which will improve their performance in their current position, without a loss of pay and benefits. (B) Such training/education shall be considered as time worked and may be granted if: the employee applies in advance in writing specifying the course and his objectives related to his position; the employee obtains permission of his Agency Head; and such training/education does not interfere with agency services. (C) Subsections (A) and (B) above do not preclude the state from assigning employees to attend training courses. Such required training shall be consistent with the employee’s position description.

(B) Personal leave may be granted for other training purposes if: the employee applies in advance in writing specifying the course and his objectives related to his position, the employee obtains permission of his Agency Head or designee, and the leave does not interfere with agency services.

(C) No out-of-state travel will be approved to attend such courses, institutes, or workshops when similar programs are available within the State of Florida. (D) Subsections (A) and (B) above do not preclude the state from assigning employees to attend training courses as determined by management.
Employee Education. The purpose of this section is to establish policy for the academic education of City employees, which will be of benefit to both the employee and the City. This policy pertains to courses attended by City employees which accrue credit toward a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate, college degree, college graduate degree, law degree, CPA recognition or related educational certification. (1) Upon the request of the employee, recommendation of the Chief and approval of the City Manager, a permanent full-time City employee may participate in the Education Tuition Reimbursement Program described hereafter subject to the following requirements. (a) That the course shall directly relate to the employee’s current job duties; any course, including outside-the-major electives, required for a degree or certificate in a field either directly related to the employee’s current duties, or a field in which the employee would have a reasonable expectation of being promoted to while employed with the City. Such course work must be completed at an officially accredited educational institution. (b) That the employee shall satisfy the necessary prerequisite of the course for which he/she requests tuition reimbursement and shall receive approval of the City Manager prior to enrolling in the course. (c) That participation in the Education Tuition Reimbursement Program shall be solely on the employee’s time. (d) Tuition for degree credit awarded for "job or life experience” is not subject to the Tuition Reimbursement Program. (2) City employees approved for participation in the Education Tuition Reimbursement Program shall be eligible for reimbursement by the City for one hundred percent (100%) of tuition, books and lab fees for courses offered by accredited education institutions up to a limit of two thousand four hundred dollars ($2,400) per fiscal year. Tuition Reimbursement shall be made upon completion of the course with a grade of “C” or better, and upon application to the Chief of Police showing evidence of successful course completion. Employees taking a leave of absence for educational purposes shall not be eligible for participation in the Education Tuition Reimbursement Program.
Employee Education. Employees will receive annual education to include information about:  Alcohol and other substances and their impact on the workplace;  What Employees should know about resources for assistance with problems related to alcohol or other drugs; and  The roles and responsibilities and terms of this DFWP for both the Employee and the Township.
Employee Education. 20.1 Employees may request permission to participate in a CSU fee waiver program. Employees, eligible according to the terms of the program, may be permitted to enroll in a maximum of two (2) CSU courses, excluding self- support, or six (6) units, whichever is greater per term. Eligible employees enrolled in a doctoral program shall be eligible for a partial fee waiver equivalent to the part-time Graduate tuition fee, and shall be responsible for paying the difference between the applicable Doctorate fee and the part-time Graduate tuition fee. Time spent in such programs shall not be utilized for overtime or for fulfilling regular workweek duties and responsibilities. 20.2 Employees eligible for participation in the CSU fee waiver program as defined above may transfer their existing fee waiver benefit entitlement maximum (as defined above) to a spouse, registered domestic partner or dependent child, subject to the following conditions: a. the courses are taken by a spouse, registered domestic partner or dependent child up to age 25 who is matriculated toward a degree and the courses are for credit toward the degree’s requirements, b. this fee waiver benefit does not apply to out-of-state tuition, and c. the administration determines that there is space available in such course offerings for the spouse, registered domestic partner or dependent child.
Employee Education. ENERGY STAR Partner agrees to provide information about the ENERGY STAR Program to all of its employees whose jobs are relevant to the development, marketing, sales, and service of ENERGY STAR-compliant products. This is necessary to ensure that these personnel are familiar with the goals and operational aspects of the program.

Employee Education. Current employees and supervisors will attend an educational session to present and discuss this DFWP. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. In addition, a qualified professional will offer at least one (1) session designed to make employees aware of substance use as a problem, the effects it can have on the individual and the family, signs and symptoms of use, effects of commonly used drugs in the workplace, the model of chemical dependency, and how to get help. There will be a minimum of two (2) hours of educational awareness offered annually to all employees. New employees will learn about this program during orientation, and they will receive substance education as soon as possible thereafter.

Employee Education. 31.01 Legal Aid Ontario (LAO) shall pay the tuition fee for education courses taken by an employee subject to the following: (a) The Employer will provide job-related training to staff as required. Most job- related training will be provided within the department, or through LAO sponsored training programs. (b) Participation in LAO-sponsored training programs is at the discretion of the department manager. Employees will be permitted to participate based on the identification of a job-skills training need or the determination that the training will be of benefit to the employee’s overall contribution to LAO and/or their understanding of LAO’s business and its goals and objectives. (c) Participation in courses provided by external institutions is at the discretion of the department manager. The course or courses must be offered by a recognized educational institution and not covered by courses already provided by LAO, or in development as a LAO training program. The initial payment for an approved course or courses shall be shared fifty percent (50%) by the Employer and fifty percent (50%) by the employee. Upon successful completion of the approved courses or courses the employee’s fifty percent (50%) of the initial payment shall be refunded by the Employer.
