Employee Status and Working Conditions. (i) An employee in a job sharing arrangement shall continue to maintain their original employee status during the period of time covered by the job sharing arrangement and shall accumulate seniority in accordance with the employee’s scheduled hours of work in the job sharing arrangement. Such an employee shall be entitled to use accumulated seniority for all applicable purposes set out in the Collective Agreement. Seniority shall be determined by the number of hours worked.
(ii) In the event an auxiliary employee is a partner to a job share arrangement, then the auxiliary employee shall be converted to regular status should the job share arrangement continue beyond the one year trial period.
(b) The general principles with respect to wage rates, employee benefit entitlement and premium payments for employees in job sharing arrangements are as follows:
(i) Wages shall be paid in accordance with the ratio that the employee’s scheduled weekly hour’s bears to the full time hours of the position being shared.
(ii) Paid leave benefits, such as Vacation, Public Holidays and Sick Leave shall be earned on a proportionate basis in accordance with the ratio that the employee’s scheduled weekly hours bears to the full-time hours of the position being shared.
(iii) The employees share of the premium payments for health and welfare benefits, such as Medical, Dental, Extended Health and Group Life shall increase proportionately as the number of scheduled weekly hours decrease in relation to the full-time hours of the position being shared.
(c) In accordance with the general principles outlined in paragraph 4(b) above, except as otherwise provided herein, the following shall apply to employees:
Employee Status and Working Conditions a) A regular full-time employee in a Job Sharing arrangement shall continue to maintain the status of a regular full-time employee during the period of time covered by the Job Sharing arrangement and shall accumulate service seniority in proportion to the scheduled hours compared to the full-time hours of the position. Such an employee shall be entitled to exercise bidding rights as a regular full-time employee and to use accumulated seniority for all applicable purposes including layoff, bumping and recall.
b) The hours of work for the Job Share positions shall be as stated in the Collective Agreement. The Letter of Understanding for “Accumulated Time Off” shall not apply.
c) The Job Sharing of a position will be on the basis of a 50/50 share. The work schedule for the position will remain as if the position were not shared. For the purposes of applying overtime (over daily or weekly maximum for a regular full-time position) and shift differential the Job Share will be treated as if it was a regular full-time position. The Employer will endeavour to be equitable.
d) The general principles with respect to wage rates, employee benefit entitlements and premium payment for regular full-time employees in Job Sharing arrangements are as follows:
i. Wage shall be paid in accordance with the ratio that the employee’s scheduled weekly hours bears to the full-time hours of the position being shared.
ii. Paid leave benefits, such as Vacation, Public Holidays and Sick Leave shall be earned on a proportionate basis in accordance with the ratio that the employee’s scheduled weekly hours bears to the full-time hours of the position being shared.

2. The general principles with respect to wage rates, employee benefit entitlement and premium payments for members in job sharing arrangements are as follows:
(a) Members shall be paid the appropriate (classified) hourly rate for all hours worked.
(b) Paid leave benefits, such as Vacation, Public Holidays, Sick Leave and Gratuity, shall be earned on a proportionate basis in accordance with the ratio that the member's scheduled weekly hours bears to the full-time hours of the position being shared.
(c) The member's share of the premium payments for health and welfare benefits, such as Medical, Extended Health, Dental, and Group Life, shall increase proportionately as the number of scheduled weekly hours decrease in relation to the full-time hours of the position being shared.
3. In accordance with the general principles outlined in paragraph IV(2) above, except as otherwise provided herein, the following shall apply to members:

(b) The general principles with respect to wage rates, employee benefit entitlement, and premium payments for members in job sharing arrangements are as follows:
(i) wages shall be paid in accordance with the ratio that the member’s scheduled weekly hours bears to the full-time hours of the position being shared;
(ii) paid leave benefits, such as annual leave, statutory holidays, sick leave, etc., shall be earned on a proportionate basis in accordance with the ratio that the member’s scheduled weekly hours bears to the full-time hours of the position being shared.
(iii) the member’s share of the premium payments for health and welfare benefits, such as medical, extended health, dental, life insurance, etc., shall increase proportionately as the number of scheduled weekly hours decrease in relation to the full-time hours of the position being shared.
(iv) Overtime for callouts shall only be paid when members in a job sharing arrangement have worked more than 40 hours in the relevant work week. A work week is each Saturday to Friday period. Overtime for an extended tour shall be paid in a manner consistent with Article 6.10

Such a member shall be entitled to use accumulated seniority for all applicable purposes set out in the Collective Agreement.
(b) Members employed under a reduced hours of work agreement will receive the same benefits as full-time members, but proportional to hours worked. The general principles with respect to wage rates, employee benefit entitlement and premium payments for members employed under a reduced hours of work agreement are as follows:
(i) Members shall be paid the appropriate (classified) hourly rate for all hours worked.
(ii) Paid leave benefits, such as Vacation, Statutory Holidays, Sick Leave and Gratuity, shall be earned on a proportionate basis in accordance with the ratio that the member’s scheduled weekly hours bear to full-time hours.
(iii) The member’s share of the premium payments for health and welfare benefits, such as Medical, Extended Health, Dental, and Group Life, shall increase proportionately as the number of scheduled weekly hours decrease in relation to the full-time hours.
(c) In accordance with the general principles outlined in paragraph 4(b) above, except as otherwise provided herein, the following shall apply to members working under a reduced hours of work agreement:

(i) Employees in a job sharing arrangement shall continue to maintain their original employee status during the period of time covered by the job sharing arrangement, and shall accumulate pro-rated seniority in accordance with the Employee's scheduled hours of work in the job sharing arrangement. Such an Employee shall be entitled to use accumulated seniority for all applicable purposes set out in the Collective Agreement.
(ii) The general principles with respect to employee benefit entitlement, vacations entitlement, sick leave and any other benefit provided within the Collective Agreement, shall be pro-rated in accordance with the hours of work in the job sharing arrangement.
