Filling of Permanent Vacancies. 1. Whenever any permanent vacancy in the unit occurs, the District shall publicize the same by posting the vacancy on the District web-site for at least five (5) days before filling such vacancy. If the vacancy occurs more than fifteen business days prior to the first student day, the posting will remain for five days. If the vacancy occurs fifteen business days or less before the first student day the position may be filled by the District at any time during or after the posting. Copies of such notice shall be emailed to the HEA President and Chief Negotiator at the time of the posting. The vacancy will be posted on the District’s website. Bargaining unit members who wish to apply are required to do so via the on-line application system.

Filling of Permanent Vacancies. A permanent vacancy occurring from the beginning of the second semester of a school year until April 30 shall be filled by the BOARD with a Continuing Substitute if a qualified Continuing Substitute is available, and, if not, by a per diem or interim substitute. A permanent vacancy occurring from May 1 to the conclusion of the school year shall be filled with a per diem or interim substitute. Except as provided in Article 9:2B a permanent vacancy occurring from the conclusion of the school year to the beginning of the second semester of the next ensuing school year shall be filled in any manner the BOARD deems appropriate.

Filling of Permanent Vacancies. The County retains the decision whether or not to fill a vacancy. Temporary vacancies will be defined as less than thirty (30) or less calendar days and will be filled utilizing the existing rotating list system for filling temporary vacancies of less than less than thirty (30) or less calendar days. In the event the vacancy goes beyond thirty (30) calendar days, then the County reserves the right to bid said vacancy. Seniority shall govern in the filling of permanent dispatcher vacancies. Vacancies will be posted in Dispatch. Upon removing the bid after the seven (7) days posting, the most senior qualified Employee will be awarded the position. If no Employee has bid on such vacancy, the County may then fill vacancy on the basis of inverse seniority and qualifications, which includes temporarily deleting the special shift and/or the special swing shift, or by hiring a new Employee.

Filling of Permanent Vacancies. SECTION 8.1 When employment needs of the College, POSTING due to the changes of the position, or the College requires additional employees in any existing positions, such vacancies shall be electronically distributed and shall be posted on bulletin boards at locations accessible to all employees in the bargaining unit for a period of five (5) work days. The job bidding announcement shall provide at least the location of the job, a general description of the duties, minimum requirements, the rate of compensation and the shift (if required). Job bidding announcements for Police positions shall be posted, but all applicants must be tested and will be added to a ranked list. This list shall encompass all eligible candidates for hire as a Police Officer. The eligibility list shall expire after two (2) years, unless the list is exhausted sooner.
