FLEX LEAVE. (i) An employee is entitled to accrue up to two (2) hours flex leave credit balance per shift.
(ii) An employee is able to accrue up to 16 hours flex leave credit balance in a settlement period.
(iii) When a flex leave credit balance will exceed 16 hours in a settlement period, management approval must be given to accrue additional hours up to the maximum permissible of 40 hours.
(iv) The accrual of between 16 - 40 hours of flex leave credit balance will enable an employee to take up to 40 hours (or five (5) days) as flex leave in a settlement period.
(v) Employees are able to take at least five (5) days off per settlement period, as long as they have accumulated enough hours to do so and have management approval.
(vi) Employees may carry forward to the next settlement period, a maximum flex leave credit balance of 40 hours or a debit balance of 10 hours with management approval.
(vii) When an employee has accrued the maximum flex leave credit balance of 40 hours in a settlement period, all hours worked in excess of ordinary hours on a rostered shift will be treated as Time In Lieu at overtime rates for the remainder of the settlement period.
(viii) A flex leave debit in excess of 10 hours at the end of a settlement period shall be debited against the employee's accrued recreation leave or, should the employee have no such leave available, shall be taken as leave without pay.
(ix) Flex leave can be taken at either the beginning or end of a period of leave.
(x) Flex leave can be taken as either half days or full days.
(xi) On cessation of duty flex leave credits will be dealt with in accordance with subclause 21 of the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Reviewed Award 2009 or any successor instrument to that Award.
FLEX LEAVE. 12.1. The requesting, approving and taking of flex leave will be done in an equitable, transparent and fair manner and subject to operational requirements.
12.2. Flex leave may be requested by employees in a manner as determined by the Department from time to time.
12.3. Requests for taking Flex leave will be considered by the Supervisor who has the delegated authority to approve leave and determined subject to operational requirements.
12.4. Employees may take a maximum of 6 flex leave days (42 hours) per settlement period.
12.5. Employees may take flex leave as consecutive single days (7 hours), half days (3.5 hours), quarter days (1.75 hours) or combinations of either, or in hours, up to the maximum of six (6) flex days (42 hours) in a given settlement period or, by mutual agreement, a certain number of individual hours up to 7 in a given day.
12.6. Where exceptional circumstances have arisen and an employee accrued additional hours in accordance with clause 10.7 Accrual of Work Time of this Agreement an additional day’s flex leave may be taken in the following period if approved.
12.7. The Department may direct an employee to reduce their hours of work during any normal working week during a settlement period, on health and safety or staff welfare grounds, if there is cause to believe that the staff member is working excessive hours.
12.8. Flex leave may be taken together with, or adjacent to other forms of leave.
12.9. An employee does not receive any credit towards their accrued work time when taking flex leave.
12.10. To ensure that recreation leave balances are maintained in accordance with NSW Treasury directions, an employee with a recreation leave balance in excess of 30 days, or its part time equivalent of 6 weeks, may not take flex leave until the balance is reduced to below 30. Where a staff member has accrued 30 days / 6 weeks recreation leave, unless otherwise authorised by their manager, flex leave can only be taken where recreation leave has been applied for and approved. If, however, recreation leave has been applied for and declined or not actioned by the manager, access to flex leave is still available.
FLEX LEAVE. (minimum vacation leave) requirements remain in effect when utilizing Flex Leave.
FLEX LEAVE. Flex Leave is subject to operational requirements and will normally be approved in advance. However, it may be approved retrospectively in exceptional circumstances. Subject to the availability of credits, there is no limit to the amount of Flex Leave which may be taken on any occasion.
FLEX LEAVE. All covered members shall earn four (4) hours of Flex Leave during the Employee’s birth month. - Flex Leave may be taken in increments of one hour, or fraction thereof, upon proper approval. - Employees are required to provide supervisors with reasonable advance notice and obtain approval prior to leave. This allows for the employee and supervisor to prepare for employee’s scheduled time off and assure all staffing needs are met. - No cash payment for unused Flex Leave shall be authorized at any time nor upon separation of employment. - Flex Leave is not transferable between Employees. - Flex Leave shall not be used to extend an employee’s separation date. The last day worked shall be the official separation date. - Employees shall take Flex Leave concurrently with any FMLA leave for which they are eligible in appropriate circumstances. - Employees on Flex Leave are subject to recall in emergency situations as deemed appropriate by the Employee’s supervisor. - Flex Leave shall be used within 12 months of accrual or forfeited.
FLEX LEAVE severance
FLEX LEAVE any approved absence during core hours that is not a form of leave covered under Part F of this Agreement.
FLEX LEAVE. Flex Leave is a combination of holiday pay, vacation leave, personal leave, sick leave, and funeral leave. See Appendix A for details. Misuse of Flex Leave or misrepresentation in connection therewith shall constitute proper cause for discipline. Flex Leave benefits and regular pay will not be paid for the same hours. A schedule for block Flex Leave will be posted February 1 by the Employer and to conclude no later than March 1. Block Flex Leave requests will be accepted for April 1 of the current year to January 1 of the following year. Each Employee will be responsible for submitting their request on or before their assigned day or they will forfeit their request that round. Each Employee may request one (1) day up to four (4) consecutive weeks, and only consecutive time, each round. Each Employee will receive one (1) calendar day to submit their 1st round request beginning with the most senior Employee on their assigned shift to the least senior Employee on their assigned shift and will also be granted in that same order. Upon conclusion of the 1st round any subsequent rounds will be conducted in the same manner as the 1st round. There must be appropriate workforce on hand at all times. Flex Leave will be scheduled according to Airport operational requirements.
FLEX LEAVE. 21.1 Employees shall participate in the flex leave program administered by the Employer in the same manner as other Employee groups in the non-supervisory (non-exempt) Flex Leave Program. Flex leave is accrued on a per pay period basis and may be used as earned. The official flex leave accrual schedule including balances will be maintained in payroll.
