Normal Workweek and Workday. The normal workweek for full-time employees will be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1/2) hours per week, or forty (40) hours per week as provided by the Employer. The basic office hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a one (1) hour unpaid lunch hour period to be scheduled by the Elected Official or Department Head. The schedule an employee will be expected to work may depend on the needs of the department.

Normal Workweek and Workday. The normal workweek for employees occupying full-time positions shall consist of 40 to be worked within a 7-day period. The normal workday may consist of either 8 hours per shift worked over 5 days, or 10 hours per shift worked over 4 days or a 3/12 work schedule as referenced in the Side Letter of Agreement for 3/12 Work Schedule. The normal workday shall include on-duty time for lunch when the operational needs of the department permit such a duty break. The Police Chief will have the responsibility for scheduling employees of the Police Department consistent with the foregoing. Voluntary shift trading among employees, subject to supervisory approval and Fair Labor Standards Act regulations, is permissible.
Normal Workweek and Workday. (a) General Changes -- Should the Village determine it to be necessary to establish general work schedules which are different from the current work schedules except in the case of emergencies, the Village shall give thirty (30) days prior written notice to the Chapter before any change is implemented. Upon such notification, the Chapter may request a labor-management meeting pursuant to the provisions of Article II. Failure of the Chapter to request a labor- management meeting prior to the implementation of any change shall act as a waiver of the right to such a meeting by the Chapter. Any changes in the work schedules shall be based upon a maximum of 2080 hours of work per year.
Normal Workweek and Workday. 12 Hour Shifts For employees assigned to permanent 12 hour shifts, the normal workday shall consist of a twelve (12) hour workday and an eighty-four (84) hour, two week work period, unless the parties mutually agree to change them according to terms that may be agreed to in accordance with the provisions contained within this Article. An employee’s attendance at non-mandatory training shall not result in any overtime or compensatory time at time and one-half. When an employee attends training and his/her shift is adequately staffed, a training day shall be considered a day worked; provided, However an employee shall report for duty for the remainder of his scheduled shift for any training consisting of less than eight(8) hours. Any training consisting of eight (8) hours or more shall be considered a day worked. The normal work cycle shall be: two (2) days on, two (2) days off, three (3) days on, two (2) days off, two (2) days on, three (3) days off; allowing for every other weekend off. The starting times of the morning shift shall be 0600 to 1800, and for the evening shift shall be 1800 to 0600. Employees assigned to special duty such as investigator, task force or school resource officer, may be assigned to an eight (8) hour shift and in such cases the normal work day shall consist of eight (8) hours and the normal work period shall consist of a forty (40) hour week. For any transitory schedule changes, departing from the normal work cycle, work week or hours, the Employer shall give a minimum of thirty (30) days notice of any intent to change the schedule and ninety (90) days minimum notice of schedule posting. Shift bidding for all shifts shall take place in October and shall be conducted based on bargaining unit seniority.

Normal Workweek and Workday. The normal workweek shall average forty (40) hours per week, but in some weeks employees shall work more than 40 hours and some weeks less than 40 hours. The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours consisting of a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period each day subject to emergency work duties, and a 15- minute paid roll-call and a 15-minute paid period after the shift (e.g., 6:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.). If an employee is assigned to a twelve (12) hour workday, then such day shall include a thirty (30) paid meal period, subject to emergency work duties, and three paid 15 minute break periods, subject to emergency work duties. The shifts, work days and hours to which employees are assigned shall be stated on a departmental work schedule. Should it be necessary in the interest of efficient operations to establish different shift starting or ending times or schedules, the Village will give notice of such change to the individuals affected.

If interrupting the nature of the assignment for lunch would cause a negative impact on the productivity or the continuation of the project, employees may be required to take their lunch at the work site, xxxxxx the lunch for individual employees, or take their lunch at the completion of the project. Should employees be required to work through their lunch, the Village will compensate employees for such time worked at the employee’s rate of pay commensurate with the current applicable rate as dictated by this contract. To be compensated, the employee must notify his/her supervisor that they are working through lunch and the supervisor must approve the action prior to it occurring.
