Professional Expectations. Both parties agree that it is the employee's professional responsibility to obtain the training and information necessary to do his/her job. Occasional attendance (up to 4 times a year) at staff meetings and necessary business meetings, without additional pay, is an expectation for all employees. All childcare employees are required to maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid. They must also comply with continuing educational requirements for child care workers as required by law and state regulations.
Professional Expectations. Interpreters shall conduct themselves in the utmost courteous and professional manner when interpreting or conversing with Purchaser and/or clients. In addition to the certification or qualifications requirements, Interpreter shall also have attained the following skills through verifiable credentials or experience: (1) Interpreters shall respect cultural, political, socio-economic, and any differences between Interpreters, Purchaser, and clients. (2) Interpreters shall not have any additional or side conversations with clients, unless directed otherwise by Purchaser. (3) Interpreters shall refrain from entering into any disagreement with Purchaser and/or clients while providing Interpreter services. (4) Interpreters shall remain neutral, and shall not interpret conversations in a manner that will direct a certain result or convey Interpreter advice, position or opinion, unless prompted by Purchaser with additional instructions. (5) In addition to the certification or qualification requirements, Interpreter also shall have attained the following skills through verifiable credentials or experience: ▪ Customer service and professionalism, ▪ Cultural sensitivity and awareness, ▪ Safeguarding client information as required through federal and state law, as well as Purchaser policies when identified and requested: o Protected Health Information (PHI) o Personally Identifiable Information (PII) o Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and ▪ Where applicable or requested by Purchaser, topic specific expertise - i.e., standard medical, specialized medical, court or legal, social service, corrections, and workers’ compensation.

Professional Expectations. 6.1 The Board and Association agree it is in the best interest of children, our communities, and education professionals for the school to be recognized as a professional setting. In order to encourage an environment that promotes this belief, the Board and Association agree to the following principles: a. Teachers are professional employees. Teachers will meet their professional obligations and structure their workday to achieve this end. The length of a teacher day shall be seven and one half hours (7.5) hours per day, except as provided below. The length of professional time assigned to instructing students shall not exceed 6 hours per day, except as provided below. b. Teachers may voluntarily participate in flexible schedules that are mutually agreed upon between the teacher and administrator and that are in alignment with and supported by a transformational improvement plan (Appendix J). A flexible schedule could include an extended school year, extended day program, or alternative program. Compensation for these additional days would be based on their prorated salary. In the event that a flexible schedule requires modification of the length of the school day, the methodology used in determining SPARK program teacher time will be used (see SPARK transformational plan in Appendix J-1.) c. Professional obligations will be the essential job duties and responsibilities outlined in the position’s job description. Said job description will be consistent with the expectations set forth in the then current district supervision and evaluation system.

Professional Expectations.  Every Student Support Specialist of the District is subject to the rules and regulations contained in the District Policy and Procedures and the provisions thereof shall constitute their contract of employment.  All Student Support Specialists of the District are expected to be punctual and in regular attendance.  Outside work is not permitted during working hours and all employees shall devote their entire defined workday to the duties to which they have been assigned.  If any employee is unable to report to duty because of illness or otherwise, immediate notice will be given to the school or worksite office.  All members will maintain a professional appearance, general decorum, and behavior that conform to their professional status in the community. Special care will be taken by every employee in the use and protection of all District property. To facilitate communication between parents/citizens and District staff for the benefit of students while respecting the needs of both parents/citizens and staff, the following procedures are established to resolve conflicts. This section shall apply to any concern other than alleged physical or sexual abuse of students or sexual harassment which is governed by reporting requirements under statute and District policy. It is understood that at any time staff may consult with the Union or parents/citizens with advocates regarding resolution of concerns. It is understood that substantiated concerns may result in further action in accordance with the Bargaining Agreement and School Board Policy.

Professional Expectations. As professionals, all faculty members recognize and accept their responsibilities to fulfill those professional commitments and obligations that directly affect instruction and support services to students. In order to fulfill their professional expectations, faculty members shall: 11.2.1 Conduct a classroom environment that is conducive to student learning, growth, and development in which students are free from discrimination, prejudice, and harassment and in which students are free to express relevant ideas and opinions. 11.2.2 Clearly differentiate to students the expression of a faculty member’s personal opinions or convictions from the objective presentation of theory, fact, or ideas. 11.2.3 Adhere to District procedures for using approved materials and resources. 11.2.4 Meet obligations for college service, participate in institutional planning processes and accreditation efforts, and submit course and department- related documents, such as, but not limited to, syllabi, student grades, updated rosters, schedules, requisitions, textbook orders.
