School Site CouncilsStaff development committees;
School Site Councils. 1. School Site Councils established by the District shall adhere to state laws, school board policies (IFCA, IFCA-R), and the collective bargaining agreement. Participation on the committee shall be voluntary and shall not be used as an evaluative criterion. 2. The District will provide support to 21st Century School Site Councils within budgetary limitations through release time, scheduling adjustments, use of duty periods for council assignments or extra compensation, whichever is appropriate. The District will also provide appropriate staff in-service. 3. School Site Councils which do not have duty periods to hold meetings shall have substitutes available for the equivalent of four (4) one-half (1/2) days per year for council business. Additionally, there will be three (3) District-wide student early release days per year for all staff to work on schools’ councils’ business. The dates for early release shall be established by the District. When available, grant monies will be used to provide further time and resources for schools’ councils’ business.
School Site Councils. A. The overall purpose of shared decision making is to enhance student achievement through both improvement of the instructional program and delivery of support services. The District encourages the collaborative work of shared decision making and supports School Councils. B. The duties of the School Councils shall be to make decisions regarding school improvement programs, staff development, and issues dealing with the implementation of provisions of the Oregon Educational Act for the 21st Century. C. Any School Council shall be composed as provided by law. Employee representatives will be selected/elected by a process administered jointly by an Association representative and the Principal or the Principal’s designee. D. The Superintendent and the President of the Association will meet periodically throughout the year to discuss the development of site-based decision-making programs in the school District. E. The Superintendent and the building Principals will comply with any reasonable request from the Association for information regarding a proposed or implemented site-based decision-making program. If the Association has objections to a proposed or implemented site-based decision, it will notify the school council involved through written correspondence. The council or its designees will then meet with Association representatives in a reasonable and timely manner prior to implementation of the decision or immediately, if implementation has begun. F. No School Council program shall violate any District policy, violate any provision of the Master Agreement, or establish past practice without the approval of the District and the Association. G. The District will appropriate funds for each School Council. The intent of these funds is for the operation of the School Council. School Councils have the responsibility and authority to decide how these funds are to be spent.

Principals and Headmasters are encouraged to include all BASAS members at the school site in the decision making process. This may be done at the school site in a number of ways including appointing an inter-membership committee to work with the lead administrator.
School Site CouncilsThe District and the Council recognize that arrangements pursuant to which employees at individual schools are given increased responsibility for making decisions with regard to their day-to-day affairs (“site-based decision-making arrangements”) can xxxxxx the collegial exchange of ideas and information that is necessary for effective professional practice, and can improve the educational process. Accordingly, in order to encourage the development and implementation of site-based decision making arrangements in the District, the parties agree as follows: 1. The School Site Councils shall have the following composition: No more than half the council may be members, and not more than half may be parents of students attending that school. The Site Council must include members, parents, at least one classified employee and the building principal or the principal’s designee. Other members may include: a. students b. representative of the community at large 2. The member representative will be elected by a direct, open, secret ballot election of their licensed peers at the school from among all active members in that building. A designated SOBC representative will be present when ballots are counted. Any member may volunteer to be a nominee. After this election, a lot drawing will determine which half of the members are to serve one year and which two years. The parent(s), student(s) and community-at-large members will be selected by the other School Site Council members. The District will appropriate not less than $37.50 per member per year in the building for use by the Committee in carrying out its responsibilities. The Committee may expend this money for its own operating expenses and/or to fund site-based decision making arrangements at individual schools. Additional funds shall be subject to mutually agreed upon needs and the availability of budgeted funds. Application may be made to the District for additional funds subject to availability. 3. The School Site Council, in cooperation with the District office, may conduct a yearly site-based decision making orientation, effective meeting strategies and consensus development program. 4. To facilitate its staff development program, the School Site Council, yearly, shall be given one half (½) day of release time per each member in the school. The School Site Council shall allocate these days to help meet the staff development goals the School Site Council has established for the year.
School Site Councils. 1. The School Site Council membership will be comprised in accordance with MGL, Chapter 71, Section 59C. 2. The School Site Council (SSC) will be encouraged to develop proposals regarding, but not limited to, the following: curriculum and staff development, student discipline and behavior standards, facilities and equipment, scheduling, staffing, community involvement, school budget and resources, before and after school programs, and other areas delegated to the SSC by terms of this agreement. The SSC will be asked to conduct an assessment of the needs of the school and will be encouraged to develop new local initiatives to address these needs. 3. The SSC will include the principal, up to six educators, at least one member of the support staff elected by the support staff at the school, parents, and community members appointed by the Principal. The high school SSC shall also have two student members. The educators serving on the Council will include one Union Building Representative and up to five additional educators elected by their peers, such number to be contingent upon the number of parents serving as members so as to provide parity between professional personnel and parents on the SSC. Each School Site Council shall post its meeting schedule and agenda in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. Each council shall maintain minutes and shall post official minutes on the school’s bulletin boards. 4. Proposals of the Council which cannot be approved by the Principal alone will be forwarded to the Superintendent for action. 5. Proposals can include requests for additional funding from within the School Department budget, grant applications, new programs and curriculum designs. a. It is recognized that the Councils may propose program innovations which conflict with current policies or the negotiated agreement. In the event that a provision of the collective bargaining agreement inhibits the execution of a school-based proposal, the Council may seek a waiver from the Union and the School Committee. b. A proposal from a School Site Council may include a request for school-based waivers of School Department policies. 6. Each year the SSC shall submit the required report to the state on the expenditure of School Improvement funds as well as a summary report of all its activities and results for the year to the School Committee and the community. 7.   • Site Safety Supervisor 62.1 On every job site, where the Employer is the principal contractor it shall appoint a management representative responsible for safety (Site Safety Supervisor). The Employer will ensure the Site Safety Supervisor has the necessary authority to ensure that all safety laws, procedures or Codes of Practice are observed, and that the following Safety Agreement is applied. 62.2 The Employer when appointing the person appointed as the Site Safety Supervisor must ensure that person has and maintainsthe appropriate experience and knowledge of the safety requirements of the work being performed. Other duties may be assigned by the Employer to a Site Safety Supervisor, provided that such duties shall not prevent him/her from exercising their duties as a Site Safety Supervisor.

  • Labor-Management Cooperation When an Appointing Authority initiates a planning process or management study which is anticipated to result in layoff, the Appointing Authority will meet and confer with the Local Union during the decision planning phase and again during the implementation planning phase. The Appointing Authority and the Local Union shall enter into negotiations regarding a Memoranda of Understanding upon request of either party to modify this Agreement regarding the implementation plans which shall include, but are not limited to, the following: • Length of layoff notice; • Job and retraining opportunities; • Alternative placement methods; • Early retirement options pursuant to M.S. 43A.24, Subd. 2(i); • Bumping/vacancy options for part-time employees to preserve their insurance eligibility or contribution; and • Other methods of mitigating layoff or their effect on employees.

  • Level Two - Superintendent If the aggrieved person is not satisfied with the disposition of his/her grievance at Level One, or if no decision is reached within six (6) school days after the grievance was referred to the building principal or immediate supervisor, then within ten (10) school days a written grievance shall be referred to the Superintendent. A decision shall be rendered by the Superintendent within ten (10) school days after its presentation.

  • STATEWIDE CONTRACT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM If the maximum amount payable to Contractor under this Contract is $100,000 or greater, either on the Effective Date or at any time thereafter, this section shall apply. Contractor agrees to be governed by and comply with the provisions of §§00-000-000, 00-000-000, 00-000-000, and 00- 000-000, C.R.S. regarding the monitoring of vendor performance and the reporting of contract information in the State’s contract management system (“Contract Management System” or “CMS”). Contractor’s performance shall be subject to evaluation and review in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Contract, Colorado statutes governing CMS, and State Fiscal Rules and State Controller policies.

  • Training and Professional Development 11.1 The Employer will develop and maintain an employee training and development plan and provide such plan to the Union upon request. Staff training is intended to provide an opportunity for classified staff employees for training sponsored by the University Training and Development and the UW Medical Centers Organizational Development and Training. Education/Professional Leave is intended to facilitate employee access to continuing education opportunities. Training and educational/professional leave may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing staff for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities within the framework of staff positions available at the University. 11.2 Any release time for training for employees accepted for such classes shall be in accordance with the Executive Order (currently No. 52) governing this matter. In the event that two or more employees request the same training period and supervision must limit the number of persons who may participate at one time due to work requirements, the selection will be made on a mutually agreeable basis within the department. 11.3 The training program is a proper subject for discussion by either departmental or University-wide Joint Union/Management Committees. 11.4 If the Employer requires an employee to receive training, reimbursement will be provided in accordance with the University travel rules. Employee attendance at Employer required training, either during or outside working hours, will be considered time worked and compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. 11.5 Employee attendance at training not required by the Employer and not covered by Executive Order 52, either on approved leave from or outside of working hours, will be voluntary and not considered time worked.

  • Stormwater Management a) The Owner AGREES to implement the requirements incorporated in the Draft Plan Conditions attached as Schedule “F” and any reports submitted to Kawartha Region Conservation Authority and the City pertaining to: i) pre and post development run-off flows and water balance calculations, and the intended means of conveying stormwater flow from each Lot, Block and the entire proposed Plan of Subdivision; ii) the anticipated impact of the Plan of Subdivision on water quality and phosphorus control, as it relates to fish and fish habitat once adequate protective measures have been taken; iii) the means whereby erosion and sedimentation and their effects will be minimized on the site during and after construction; iv) the site soil conditions, including grain size distribution profiles; v) a site grading plan. b) The Owner AGREES to erect and maintain all stormwater management and erosion and sedimentation control structures operating and in good repair during the construction period, in a manner satisfactory to Kawartha Region Conservation Authority and the City. c) Prior to the execution of this Agreement, the Owner AGREES to confirm to the City that Conservation Authority has reviewed and approved the stormwater management report and plan, erosion and sedimentation plan, and final Lot Grading Plans as required under this Section. a) UPGRADES TO EXISTING STORM SEWER b) UPGRADES TO EXISTING SANITARY SEWER
