Work Place Safety. It is the policy of Shawnee Public Schools to provide its teachers a safe work-place.
Work Place Safety. 1.1 Bargaining unit members shall not be required to work under unsafe conditions or to perform tasks which endanger their health or safety which have been brought to the attention of the site administration and/or District with safety of unit members and students being the primary concern.
Work Place Safety. 11.1 Employees will bring safety issues and concerns to the attention of immediate supervisor as they become known. If the immediate supervisor fails to remedy the issue to the satisfaction of the employee, the Superintendent will meet with the employee upon request.

2.2 When a unit member reports unsafe or hazardous conditions, the site administration shall investigate. When the unsafe or hazardous condition is confirmed by the site administration/District to exist, the site administration/District shall take steps to correct the condition within a reasonable period of time and shall expeditiously initiate corrective measures. Unit members shall be provided with a response to their report within 10 working days. Unit members will be informed when corrective measures will take extended time.
2.3 If a unit member is attacked, assaulted or physically threatened by a student, parent, guardian, or relative of the student while on duty, the unit member shall report the incident in full detail to his/her immediate supervisor within 24 hours on the day of the incident. (Assault includes a verbal threat which would cause a reasonable person to believe the threat could be carried out.) The District shall thereafter submit a report to the appropriate law enforcement authorities. The unit member may first report the incident to appropriate law enforcement at their discretion with safety being the primary concern. If law enforcement authorities are not contacted or unable to be contacted by a unit member, the District has the responsibility to submit a report of the incident (as required by law) to appropriate law enforcement authorities within 24 hours (or as soon as reasonably practical) of the time the unit member reports it. The site administration/District shall communicate to the unit member, any step(s) taken to address the behavior(s) before there is any contact between the involved parties.
2.4 If a unit member leaves work during the instructional day due to the unit member being physically assaulted by a student, the District shall pay the teacher their regular pay, and the unit member shall not be charged accrued time for the remaining part of that duty day. In the event a unit member needs additional time off, the unit member may utilize leave as provided in this collective bargaining agreement.

Work Place Safety. Amtrak and the BMWE agree to use their best efforts to ensure that all applicable local, state, and federal laws or regulations, and Amtrak safety rules are properly applied. It shall not be a violation of this agreement or any company rule for employees to refuse to start work, return to work, or continue working when any condition exists that violates an applicable local, state or federal law or regulation or Amtrak Safety Rule or procedure. Employees exercising their right under this Article shall be governed by Attachment 4 to this agreement, "Procedures for Resolution of Work Place Safety Issues".

It shall not be a violation of this agreement or any company rule for employees to refuse to start work, return to work, or continue working when any condition exists that violates an applicable local, state or federal law or regulation or MBCR Safety Rule or procedure. Work Place Safety. The Subcontractor agrees to comply with all federal and state work place safety statutes and regulations including provisions of the Federal Construction Safety Act of 1969, the current guide lines of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 respecting all work done hereunder, and to indemnify and save harmless Contractor and Owner against all claims, expenses or damages sustained by or arising out of Subcontractor's failure to so comply. Subcontractor shall also implement the Hazard and Communications Standard set forth in 29 CFR section 1910.1200 (a) (1) et. seq.
Work Place Safety. The parties agree that a safe and secure work place is a mutual objective, and that dangerous conditions, unusual practices, and environmental hazards should be remedied. The CSEA recognizes its obligation to bring conditions, practices and environmental factors believed to be hazardous to the District’s attention for investigation and appropriate remediation, and the District recognizes its obligation to investigate and to remedy, in accordance with generally accepted standards for health and safety, any such conditions, practices and factors which are brought to its attention. Employees shall not be required to work in conditions which endanger their health or safety in violation of such generally accepted standards. Work Place Safety. The work place safety of employees assigned to Projects under this Agreement shall be the sole and full responsibility of the assigning party. If either party should become aware of the existence of any hazardous conditions, property, or equipment which are under the control of the other party it shall so advise the other party; however, it shall remain the first party's responsibility to take all necessary precautions against injury to persons or damage to property from such hazards, property, or equipment until corrected by the other party. Each party agrees to comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), applicable OSHA standards, applicable state safety and health laws and regulations, any applicable municipal ordinances, and applicable facility safety rules of which the party has notice, regarding the employees it assigns to Projects under this Agreement.
