Banked Leave. 13.9.1 Regular Faculty may bank overload hours as a form of overload compensation.
A. Faculty may bank up to one class worth of overload per semester and one summer class.
B. Counselors and Librarians may bank overload hours for non-teaching assignments up to an equivalent of 20% overload per semester and summer hours up to 20%.
C. Banked leave will accrue at applicable adjunct parity ratio; see Appendix IV.
D. Faculty are limited to banking one (1) year of total leave time.
E. Faculty may redeem banked leave in one (1) semester or full-year increments.
F. Faculty may redeem leave at times mutually agreed upon by the faculty member and the supervising xxxx.
X. A faculty member with an unused banked leave balance at the time of severance from the District will receive monetary compensation for the banked time. The rates of payment will reflect the hourly overload pay rates in effect at the time the leave was banked.
X. Monetary compensation for banked leave is not available while a member remains employed by the district.
Banked Leave.
6.20.1 When a full-time unit member works beyond his/her regular contract, he/she can choose either to bank the extra FTE or to be paid at the current overload salary rate. Depending on the number of hours banked, the time off could be one class or an entire academic year. The ratio of banked time to leave time is 6:5. For example eighteen (18) lecture hours must be banked to take leave from a regular semester load of fifteen (15) lecture hours.
6.20.2 There are no restrictions on the use of leave time; it may be used for professional or personal reasons. A faculty member on banked leave shall be paid and earn fringe benefits as though he/she were working his/her regular contract assignment. The time on leave shall count toward retirement and as service to the District for purposes of advancement on the salary schedule. The time on leave shall not represent a break in service.
6.20.3 Each semester, an instructor wishing to bank an overload class must submit a request for approval no later than the end of the second week of classes to the Division Xxxx and then to the Vice President for Instruction.
6.20.4 A written request to use banked FTE must be approved by the Division Xxxx and the Vice President for Instruction or appropriate Xxxx. The request must indicate at least one
(1) semester’s advance notification of plans to use banked time. An exception is that when banked time is to be used to fill out a sabbatical salary, notice must be given at the time the sabbatical application is approved.
6.20.5 No more than the equivalent of two semesters of banked time can be accumulated - for example, an instructor with an annual load of thirty (30) lecture hours cannot bank more than thirty-six (36) lecture hours. If the limit of the annual load is exceeded, the instructor will be paid for the excess FTE at the regular overload salary rate.
6.20.6 Banked FTE may not be accumulated for more than six (6) years. After those years, the instructor must submit a revised plan to the District indicating either that he/she wishes to be paid for the time or when the time will be taken.
6.20.7 If the instructor decides not to take the leave, he/she will be paid for banked time at the overload rate in effect at the time the FTE were worked.
6.20.8 In order for an instructor to take time off, the Division Xxxx and the Vice President for Instruction or appropriate Xxxx must certify that:
a. The program will not be jeopardized by the absence of the instructor; and

Banked Leave. 4.5.1 The following arrangements will continue to apply to former Manual employees who were in post in 1993/94
4.5.1.1 Any amount of accrued leave that was transferred to the 1994/95 leave year at 31st March/1st April 1994 that has not subsequently been utilised, will be banked and the cash equivalent at the rate applicable at 31st March 1994 paid at the time that the employee leaves the employment of the London Borough of Ealing.
4.5.2 Any such balance of banked leave may also be utilised in the following ways.
i) as part of the paid leave element under the "Extended Leave Scheme", subject to the normal conditions applicable to that scheme;
ii) one week per year (or more by mutual agreement) may be drawn from the available banked hours and taken in addition to the normal annual leave entitlement, subject to the exigencies of the service.
iii) if an employee has requested leave under the special leave arrangements the Chief Officer (as well as considering how much "current" annual leave the employee has available) may require the employee to utilise up to a maximum of one week of "banked" annual leave in any one leave year in conjunction with any other paid or unpaid leave that may be granted.
4.5.3 When an employee utilises the leave in one of the above ways it will be paid at the rate applicable at the time that it is taken. Employees will receive notification at the start of each leave year of the balance of any such banked leave and will receive additional notification of any change to that balance when any banked leave in utilised in accordance with the above.
Banked Leave. Each employee entitled to Xxxxx Days will also be provided with forty-eight (48) hours of paid leave on the first day of each annual shift change over each year. These hours may be used by the employee under the vacation leave scheduling rules. Employees may elect to carry over hours into the next year but shall not carry excess of twelve (12) hours. If the employee does not elect to carry over hours, all hours will be cashed-out each October 1. The cashed out leave shall be included in the employees’ October 25th paychecks and do not carry over to the next year. Employees who terminate their employment with the County prior to October 1 will receive a prorated portion of the remaining balance of the 48-hours, if any, based on their departure date.
Banked Leave. (a) Employees may bank time which can be used at a later date in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.
(b) Where an employee elects to work additional hours in order to bank time, the employee will not be entitled to meal or meal breaks. Where Xxxxxx requests an employee to work overtime and the employee elects to bank the hours, the employee will be entitled to meals and meal breaks as per the Meals and Meal Break ready reckoner.
(c) Payment for banked leave will be made at the employee's base rate of pay for their ordinary hours of work.
(d) Banked leave will be paid out on termination based on the employee's balance on the date of termination.
Banked Leave. Assigned Leave or Awarded Leave that is not wanted by a pilot may be deposited in a leave bank for reallocation. Should the unwanted leave block be taken up by another pilot, the pilot who was originally awarded / assigned that leave has no further leave obligation and shall be re-credited those annual leave days. Should the deposited leave not be taken up by another pilot, then the awarded / assigned pilot must take up that leave.

Banked Leave. In recognition of the transition of Social Workers from salaried to hourly wage, the Employer will credit each salaried Social Worker ten (10) hours of paid leave, pro-rated by FTE.
