Employee Requested Transfer. Any member of the bargaining unit shall have the privilege of requesting a transfer to any job location within the same position classification subject to the following conditions:
6.3.1 Requests for transfers will be considered only when a vacancy exists.
6.3.2 Unit member desiring a transfer shall file a request on the form prescribed by the District with the Human Resources Development. The transfer request shall remain on file for one (1) year from date of submission.
6.3.3 A member of the bargaining unit may file a request for transfer on the form prescribed by the District or at any other time during the school year when a notice of vacancy has been posted and prior to the closing date.
6.3.4 Human Resources Development shall notify the appropriate supervisors of any employee requesting a transfer. If vacancies develop at the locations requested, consideration shall be given to all members who submitted properly completed transfer requests for such vacancies, prior to outside candidates.
6.3.5 The District shall provide the member and appropriate immediate supervisor(s) with official notifications of the disposition of the voluntary transfer request, which may include a meeting with the employee denied the transfer upon the employee’s request.
Employee Requested Transfer. A permanent member of the bargaining unit may request, in writing, a transfer from one position classification to another position classification or promotion as defined in 18.2.2. The written request shall be submitted to the District Office on the appropriate form within the five (5) day period. An employee must complete his/her initial probationary period prior to submitting application for Transfer.
18.5.1.1 For purposes of selection between two or more unit members requesting transfer to a vacant position, the District shall consider the training, experience, competencies, length of service in the school and in the District and past evaluations of each unit member.
18.5.1.2 When the District has considered two or more members requesting a transfer to a vacant position to be equal on the basis of training, experience, competence, and past evaluations, the unit member with the most District-wide seniority shall be selected for transfer to the vacant position.
18.5.1.3 If there is only one unit member who has filed for a lateral transfer to an open position in the same job classification at a different site, the lateral transfer request will be granted without the need to participate in a competitive job interview if that employee has:
1) had a satisfactory performance evaluation for the previous two (2) years.
2) received no formal disciplinary action during the previous two (2) years, and
3) has not been granted a lateral transfer within the previous two (2) years. This does not prevent the supervisor of the open position from meeting with the unit member prior to finalizing the lateral transfer decision to ensure that the unit member understands the expectations and requirements of the position at the new work site. If there is more than one (1) lateral transfer applicant who meets the three criteria identified above, the most senior person will be granted the transfer.
18.5.1.3.1 Any unit member who has been granted a lateral transfer via the non-competitive process described in 18.5.
Employee Requested Transfer. An employee who has completed three (3) months of service, may request a transfer to a different college location. If the College denies the request, it will advise the employee of the reason for the denial.
Employee Requested Transfer. Where an employee has received notice of layoff and the employee requests to be transferred to a job vacancy, and where the employee does not have functional group seniority, the Company shall transfer the employee provided he/she is qualified as determined by the Company. Such qualifications may include creativity, knowledge, experience, skill, ability, attitude, training and/or education as well as other relevant factors. The Company shall act in a bona fide manner in determining whether the employee is qualified for the requested transfer. The employee transferred shall be paid accordingly:
Employee Requested Transfer. A. A request for a transfer shall be filed in the Human Resources office and shall be retained actively for a period of one hundred eighty (180) days. Employees who wish to be considered for transfers to position that may be open during a period of absence shall make an appropriate request in advance to the Human Resources office. The employee shall provide an address and/or telephone number where he/she can be contacted.
B. All employees requesting a transfer shall be notified of an interview for any vacancies.
C. Transfers may be requested only by permanent or probationary employees with six months of satisfactory performance.
Employee Requested Transfer. The Company will maintain an environment in which employees can make known their interest in transferring to other positions which they are qualified to perform. An Employee Requested Transfer system, including the posting of openings on Company bulletin boards, will be established which will allow each employee to make application for transfer and receive consideration as a candidate for open positions for which qualified. Both parties agree that continued service over a period of time normally does increase the worth of an employee to his/her employer. Therefore, when qualifications are substantially equal the Company agrees to recognize seniority in case of promotions in the bargaining unit. Neither the Company's procedure nor the consideration as a candidate for the job transfer shall be subject to the grievance procedure.
Employee Requested Transfer. Employees may request transfers when vacancies exist. These requests must be in writing.
A. A qualified employee may submit a request for transfer/promotion when vacancy is posted. Any unit member who wishes to be considered for a vacancy which might occur during a period when the unit member is on leave must submit a letter to the Human Resources Department prior to the leave indicating such interest. The letter shall state the beginning and ending dates of the leave and shall be valid only during the dates stated and shall list family classifications of interest. For the purpose of this section a leave is defined as any time an employee is off work, excluding weekends. If a unit member has performed duties that fall under the job description for 10 consecutive days or 25 non-consecutive days in a 12-month period they will automatically be deemed qualified and will be granted an interview. An employee shall be deemed qualified to request a transfer, or promotion to another classified position if the employee has attained permanent status in the District, has served at least six months in his/her current position, his/her most recent performance evaluation is satisfactory or better, and he/she meets the minimum qualifications for the position in question.
B. If an employee’s request for voluntary transfer/reassignment/promotion is granted, the employee must accept the offer within two (2) work days of notification. If the employee fails to respond to the offer within two (2) work days of notification, or the District is unable to reach the employee by phone within two (2) work-days, the offer shall be deemed rejected by the employee and thereby, the offer shall be revoked.
C. If a unit member’s request for a voluntary transfer is denied, the employee, upon request, shall be granted a meeting with the management employee who denied the request to discuss the reasons for the denial. Following the meeting the employee may request and shall receive written reasons for the denial.
D. The District’s decision related to a request for a transfer, or promotion is the sole discretion of the District and is not grievable under Article XI, unless the District has failed to follow the process when making their decision.
Employee Requested Transfer. A permanent member of a bargaining unit may request, in writing, a transfer from one group position classification to another position classification in the group as defined in 4.1.2. The written request shall be submitted to the Water Authority on the appropriate form within the five (5) day posting period.
